December Challenge………A Whirlwind Weekend

Wow! We have had a whirlwind weekend. We had lot’s of get togethers with family and friends as we celebrated the Christmas season. I have to admit, I’m worn out!! and I have so much to get done this week. I sometimes always procrastinate. I seem to work better under pressure but I can get a little lot grumpy.

Many Christmas’ my husband has changed the words to a Christmas song………he sang, “Oh the weather outside is delightful but inside our Mom is frightful.”  Unfortunately sometimes I was a little frightful.

This year I have made a concentrated effort to have a peaceful and Christ centered Christmas. I have participated in the Peace on Earth December Challenge with Courtney at Women Living Well. Each week she has given us a spiritual challenge and a physical challenge.

This is the challenge for this week: get yourself a HOT drink (again we are warming the body as we warm the soul.) Get ALONE and turn out the lights by your Christmas tree, a lit fire, or a candle and just be alone with God. Pray, talk to him, I encourage you to sing Christmas carols or songs praising him, and just rest with Jesus.

I have already spent some time sitting by my tree and drinking coffee but I plan to do it again this week. I’m going to slow down and enjoy some quiet time with Jesus. I want to thank Him for His blessings.

I am blessed to have a warm home with plenty of food, wonderful family and friends, a wonderful church, and YOU, my blogging friends and I could go on and on. Life is not perfect and it’s not always easy, but I choose to look for the blessings.

What about you what are you thankful for this year? Have you been looking for the blessings in your life? I’d love to hear from you!

Walking in His Grace,

  1. You’ve remind me of focusing back to Jesus, not only during the Christmas season, but every moment in my life.

I give thanks for everything I have, and for everything that I don’t. I say so because most of the time, people just remember what they don’t have, and blaming is more than thanksgiving for things they have. Sometimes we do not understand, His timing and His will, is how much more higher and differ from ours… but i choose to give thanks 🙂

  2. Hi Cyndi,
May you have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
Some of that coffee and sitting looking at the Christmas tree sounds like a winner to me.

I am thankful for LIFE and that I have a personal relationship with Almighty God.
I am never alone for He is with me.

Isn’t that awesome to have a relationship with the creator of the universe which includes us!

    God bless,
