5 Things You Can Do This Summer To Feel Like A Kid Again!

Do you remember how fun summer was when you were a kid? School was out and all you could think about was playing outside.

My sister and brother and I spent hours upon hours playing outside. Mom would have to drag us in when it got dark outside.

5 things you can do this summer to feel like a kid again!

So what’s wrong with feeling like a kid! Why not do some things you loved doing when you were carefree and young….a-hem younger?

Here are 5things that you can do that will bring out the kid in you!

1. Eat a Popsicle. Kids love them and they taste great on a hot summer day!

2. Ride a Bike. Nothing can make you feel more carefree than riding a bike. (This was a picture of Mom and Courtney and I riding bikes on vacation. It was my last vacation with Mom. So thankful for the great memories!)

3. Run through your sprinkler. It feels so good on a hot summer day!

 4. Catch a lightening bug. Aren’t these little bugs amazing? Have some fun with your kids running around your yard chasing them.

 5. Lay out on a blanket in your yard after dark and gaze at the moon and stars.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” Psalm 19:1

Enjoy summer because before you blink these lazy dog days will be gone!

Have a blessed day!

  1. A great post, Cyndi. I’d seen that photo of you and Traci and Blake before, but I’d forgotten about it. Your outfit was Hang Ten, wasn’t it? So cute!

You listed some great things and reminded me that I used to love summer. I guess the world was just more carefree back then, wasn’t it? But it SHOULD be carefree now for my boys. Thanks for the reminder to enjoy the lazy, hazy, crazy days!

  2. Hi Cyndi, I love this post! It brings back lots of fond memories of days gone by. 🙂 I sent you an email this morning. It may have gone to your spam folder. Just letting you know in case that’s what happened. Hugs…

  3. Just the other day I decide to run around the yard trying to catch lightning bugs. I got one, admiring him, then let him scramble up my finger and take flight, flashing his soft lamp as he launched. I felt like a kid, for sure.

  4. LOVE that picture of you, Traci, & your brother! Too funny! And your right…summer isn’t nearly as fun as it was when I was a kid!! Perhaps I shall try some of your tips!! Its just so darn hot!!

  5. So sweet….that picture is going to make me smile all day. So 70’s man.

I love this list, except for the bicycle. I don’t think I could do that anymore….it would hurt me in places I like to keep free from pain. LOL!

But laying out and looking at the stars, my older kids and I do that all of the time. It’s so pure and peaceful. And I will have a popsicle today….in honor of you. Lisa~
