A Summer Project

I cannot believe this is the last week of July!!

Where did the month go?

Why does winter drag on and on and summer seem

to be gone in the blink of an eye!

I love Summer! I love everything about it.

The longer days of daylight, swimming, grilling, warm weather…..I love it all!

I love Fall too but I always know winter is next and cold weather kills me!

Anyway, I had several things I wanted to get done outside this year

(or should I say I wanted my husband to get done),

but we’ve been so busy preparing for Colt Allen,

I haven’t done as much as I wanted to.

We did get one project completed.

A few months ago I showed you my back porch.

I finally talked my husband into landscaping around it.

Doesn’t he look thrilled??

He dug about six inches deep. It was a lot of hard work and I wasn’t much help!

I’m not that strong! 🙂

He then placed the plants in………

and then he measured everything so they lined up perfectly.

We laid down a lining to help keep the weeds out.

We added stepping stones and some mulch.

This is the finished porch!

I think it turned out pretty good and next year I’m hoping to add some flowers.

So what about you? Have you gotten any summer projects done?

Have a great Monday!

“Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it.
Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.
Let all creation rejoice before the LORD, for he comes, he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his faithfulness.” Psalm 96:11-13

  1. Your back porch was already beautiful but the landscaping just adds a nice touch. I think you should hire Tracy to come over and do the staining treatment on the floor! 😉 But either way it’s still gorgeous!
