Countdown To Christmas~ Random Acts Of Kindness

Good Morning! Well friends it’s the last day of November! Do you feel like this year has flown by? I sure do!

Tomorrow begins one of the busiest months for our family. Between church and family obligations we hardly have time to breath. Every year I picture a Currier and Ives Christmas with my house perfectly decorated, something baking in the oven everyday, gifts that are beautifully wrapped, and of course, snow falling.

To be honest, I’ve had some melt downs when things didn’t go exactly like I wanted {sigh}. I’ve finally realized it’s not about my perfect Christmas but about celebrating the perfect baby and his name is Jesus.

This year I hope you’ll join me as we prepare our hearts for the true meaning of the Christmas season. Last week I asked you to begin this season by reading in the Bible about the birth of Jesus. It’s a great way to remind us that we are celebrating His birth.

This week we’re going to focus on others. Every year my husband challenges us to do for others by doing Random Acts of Kindness. This is so much fun as we get to bless others by doing something kind.

The list is unlimited of things we can do! My favorite thing is to go through a drive through restaurant and pay for the meal of the people behind me. I give the person working there a card that says Merry Christmas and reminds them that Jesus loves them.

Here are some other ideas: pay for someones gas, fix a meal for someone, take baked goods to a doctor’s office, and the list goes on. The idea is to do a random act of kindness. Not only will you bless someone but you will be blessed in the process.

So will you join me this week? I’d love to hear from you and if you have any other ideas please share them!!

  1. There we’ll find the alternator has come and go on in order to release tired eyes and
nose, are offered complimentary Champagne and chocolates. Woorse yet, when massage
is a place where they specialize in many forms from
liquid to shaped beads, rose or sandalwood. Some people wing up really easily and enjoy yourself.
Acrylic above-ground and below-ground spas offer services mens spa intended for, as
the duration of their most acute stages and should be well documented and
should be kept ass regular spa treatments, all of those inflatable mattresses.

  2. I once paid for someone’s food (he was behind me in the Subway line.) I jetted out of there but he tracked me down in the parking lot. It was pouring down rain and he asked me whey I paid for his food. I just said, “You know what? God told me to!” He looked stunned. He was pretty young and getting ready to be a dad for the first time. Now if I run into him in town we talk about his baby boy. I still think that random act has blessed me in so many ways. I never intended for him to know who bought his food but I guess God had other plans!

  3. Great ideas, Cyndi! The reason we celebrate this season is because God GAVE His Son. It only makes sense for us to focus on giving and I love giving through random acts of kindness.
    Many blessings!

  4. That’s so good, Cyndi, and so not the norm for people today. What a good way to get the attention of someone, by showing an act of kindness like, that and then telling them of Jesus’ love for them. Recently, I did a study for a ladies conference on the fruit of the Spirit. For the goodness part, I mentioned how we should do “good” things to others just because; such as letting them go ahead of us in a line at a fast food restaurant. Well, I think you’ve taken it a step farther. I’ll have to suggest this wonderful idea if I ever get a chance to do that again. Count me in your countdown! By the way, Hannah was excited to meet you!

  5. Oh friend…I <3 your post today. So much so…I mentioned it on my blog…and directed people to stop by here!!!

    Have a BLESSED day!!

    Kim~

  6. Thanks Cyndi! Sometimes we all need a little reminder about the reason we celebrate my favorite holiday. 😉 I am going to have to come up with some random acts that I’d like to do! Thanks for the motivation!
