Why I Use A Foundation Primer

Good Monday Morning!

Why do weekends always go by so fast? Come to think of it why do months go by so fast? I can’t believe this is the last full week of January!

I don’t know what your weather has been like, but it has not been a typical January in Kentucky. Our temperatures have been above normal and we’ve had very little snow. Of course, I’m not complaining! It’s just been weird!

Today I wanted to share with you about a product that I am IN LOVE with.

It’s Mary Kay’s foundatioin primer.

I have used foundation primer’s on and off but I am hooked on Mary Kay’s foundation primer. It feels like silk going on my face!

Why use a foundation primer? I’m glad you asked!

Foundation primers even out your skin tone, help your makeup stay on longer and absorb oil with salicylic acid.  They also ease the application of foundation. My foundation goes on so much easier since I started using a primer.

So, what about you? Do you use a foundation primer, and if you do, what’s your favorite one?

I know there are lots of great foundation primers, but if you would like to order Mary Kay’s primer, click here.

Beauty For the Heart~~As we begin a new week let’s commit to making our relationship with Christ our priority. Spend time this week in His word. Pick a verse that you would like to memorize and write it out. There’s no better way to begin your week!

  1. Glad I’m reading these old posts! I’d like to know if ALL primers contain salicylic acid or just Mry Kay’s. I use a bb cream with primer and hadn’t noticed that ingredient which is great on my skin. I use Dermarest, but would like to elimante some products from my routine. 🙂

  2. The Monistat Chafing Gel contains dimethicone which is the main ingredient in primers. This gel is NOT the medicated ointment that you would use for cooties.

  3. My daughter has me on the primer and eye firming cream and concealer! You know how thise daughters are! ; ) I love using them all and know I definitely need them all! I don’t use the primer everyday, but you are right, it feels like silk on your face. I think I have to say I like concealer best of all. It hides a multitude! Now you are going to have to do a post on concealer, Cyndi!

  4. If you love the foundation Amanda you will love, love the primer. I can’t believe I hadn’t tried it. Now I’m going to order the eye primer. I bet its good too!
    Thanks for guest posting!

  5. Thanks you Stacy for stopping by my blog! I’m definitely going to check out the Monistat. I may have to tell my readers about it. Thank you for sharing.
    Blessings,
    Cyndi

  6. I have worn MK foundation for about 10 years and LOVE it. I am asking my friend for primer this week! My skin has changed so much after babies, not for the better:(

I am loving your tips. So nice to hear what other people have tried and like!

  7. Did that other blogger say monistat? isn’t that for yeast infections? interesting… kind of like using preparation H for the circles under your eyes. NO I haven’t tried it.

  8. Cyndi~
First, I just want to let you know that I love your blog!

About primers…I had never used one until my cousin gave me a sample of MAC primer. I loved it! When it ran out I went online to order more and almost choked when I saw how expensive it is. I googled primers to try to find a less expensive option and saw all this talk about Monistat Chafing Gel used as a foundation primer. I picked some up the next time I was at Wally World and they were right! It works great and is very inexpensive. (Our store carries it for around $4 a tube.) I’ve used it for several years now. You might consider giving it a try when your Mary Kay runs out.

    Have a blessed day!
