The Latest Trends In Eyewear

I have a busy day of appointments today. Hair appointment, exercise class, and my annual eye appointment.

I’m having to wear my eyeglasses more and more and I don’t love wearing them.

I took this picture of me in eyeglasses a few weeks ago. I’ve had these for several years and I think I’m ready for a change.

I also have contacts but I don’t wear them because I still have to wear eyeglasses to read small print. Not good.

I know part of it is my age, ahem, but I’m sure this computer screen does not help my situation.

I would like to get some new frames so I headed to Pinterest to see if I could find anything I liked.

Here’s some glasses I like, of course, that doesn’t mean they will look good on me.

How cute are these? Actually I like her whole outfit plus her nail color.

What about popping some color?

These are adorable, but I think she feels the same way I do about wearing eyeglasses. 🙂

Well, wish me luck! I’ll try to get a picture of the one I decide on.

Beauty For the Heart~~Last night I was reading some blogs and I came across a young lady who lost her battle with cancer yesterday. Her husband posted on her blog and I became engrossed with reading her last few posts as she described what she was going through.

My heart ached for her and for her family (she had two young children). I went to bed with a heavy heart, trying to make sense of her pain. Questioning God, and asking why? I also questioned my life. Am I living my life on purpose?  I want to make sure my life and my blog points people to Jesus.

In the midst of talking about fashion and beauty I want people to see Jesus. That’s what it’s really all about. You know that, right?

This morning I woke up and made my coffee (a must!) and then began my devotion. As always, Jesus spoke right to my heart. One of my verses was Psalm 42:11(NLT). I thought you might need to hear it too.

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

  1. Well, it’s not really bad to like something. And what can I say? Those glasses really do look nice. Not to mention, eyeglasses also has their own charm.

  2. I have been putting off going to the eye doctor, because I will need to get my first pair of “old lady glasses” as I call them. You know the ones that help me see far away and allow me to read. And I really don’t look good in glasses so it’s been hard. But sooner or later, I will have to. I read about the young mom who passed away on Facebook and also visited and read her blog. So heartbreaking!

  3. Ugh. Glasses.

I’ve always had 20/20 vision (or better). Now I need glasses for seeing things in the distance (only wear them when driving at night) and DIFFERENT glasses for reading. Seriously? I’m sure you’re right; all this time looking at the screen doesn’t help.

At least you’ve found some cute frames! And no doubt you’ll make the glasses look good!

  4. I just found your blog from your sister’s and I love it! I love the title Grace and Beauty. Grace makes us beautiful and I love the marriage you have made of Jesus and fashion here! (I know too many good Christian women who just don’t care a lick about how they present themselves to the world…I always think your outside should reflect how you feel on the inside and your own divine nature as a child of God,)
Thanks for being so bold in your testimony. I know I need to be more like that and more expressive about the ‘Good News’ that I know and love!

  5. My assessment said I needed calcium and vitamin D. I also needed to eat more seafood and more whole grains. Hope you win!
