My Top 5 Make-up Essentials

Good morning! Thank you all for your sweet comments about my crazy pop of color in my hair.

I’m getting a little more use to it and I may or may not keep it for very long. It’s still up in the air!

My sister has asked me to not do anything until she sees it in person. I think she wants a good laugh.

Today I wanted to share with you 5 makeup essentials that will help you on those days when you’re in a hurry.

I think most women look better with a little bit of make-up. I know I do!

Some days we don’t have time to bother with a lot of make-up but these 5 essentials will get you out the door and looking fabulous.

  • Lipstick or lip gloss~if you wear nothing else, apply this. It brightens your face and will give you immediate color.
  • Mascara~gives your eyes a lift.
  • Cheek color~gives you a beautiful glow.
  • Concealer~I always wear concealer under my eyes. I would sleep with it on if I could. It overs blemishes and dark circles quick and easy.
  • Powder~if you don’t have time to apply foundation, brush some powder on to even your skin tone and reduce the shine.
This will take you less than 5 minutes and you’ll look and feel better!

What about you, do you wear make-up everyday? Is there one product you can’t leave the house without?

Beauty For the Heart~This morning I’m babysitting Colt Allen while Courtney goes to MOPS. I cherish these moments and I wish I could freeze time. I want to soak up his every move, the way he smiles and slobbers~~it’s adorable! I can hardly believe how quickly time passes so I’m savoring these precious moments.

Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Psalm 127:3

Have a blessed day friends and know you are loved by the Great I AM!

  1. I am ALWAYS looking for a better mascara. Cannot begin to tell you how many different brands I have used. So, when you posted what kind you use and that you love it…off to Target I go. 🙂 When I first opened it, I thought, what a funny looking brush…so tiny. I had to come back to this post and say I LOVE IT!!! Thanks so much for sharing. I’m enjoying the 31 days of Fashion and Beauty.

  2. You are the second person that has mentioned this! I’m going to check into it. I don’t know who does it in my area but i’m interested.
thanks for sharing and have a great day!

  3. Pam I am going to check into this!! Do you like it? I would love to do this because I know as I get older (much older) I won’t be able to see. This would be a great solution!
Thanks and have a great day!

  4. Lauren you’re so sweet young lady! You’re right our husband’s like us put together. You have your hands full but how blessed you are with two precious toddlers and a soon to be newborn.
    Have a great weekend!

  5. Hey Lori
I’m with you on the mascara and the eyeliner. I few people have commented about having permanent eyeliner put on and I’m seriously considering it!
    Have a great day!

  6. Hey Kristen!
I didn’t mean to laugh but your description of your allergic eye reaction was funny. Sorry you’re having eye problems. Hang in there and be careful what you put on those eyes.
    Have a great day!

  7. Great tips!! I can’t leave the house without mascara! My eyes look dead without it!! You should do a post on how to keep our smiles looking beautiful since your a hygienist and all!! Do you have a favorite whitening product that you like to use on your teeth?! Are some more safe than others? Just an idea that I thought I would throw out there!! : ) Happy Friday!! Hope you have a fabulous weekend!!

  8. I would never leave the house without eyeliner….so I had it done permanently 9 yrs ago. I love it! I can go swimming, camping or running late and always look put together.

  9. I didn’t start wearing makeup until my junior year in college, and have since worn it everyday! Even as a mom of toddlers, it helps me to feel a bit more put together and able to tackle my day if I’m showered, hair done and makeup on. Now that #3 is on the way, I’ve gotten down my entire routine into 25 minutes, so I know I can continue to make it happen with a newborn. I always wear foundation, blush, eye shadow, eye liner, and mascara. I vary the colors of eye shadow, but everything else is the same, mostly Mary Kay products. My husband likes it when I look put together, so I try to please him 🙂

  10. I must wear mascara and (pencil) eye liner every day or I look like I don’t have eyes! I don’t wear foundation except for special occasions. I have (mild, so far) rosacea so I avoid most makeup so as not to irritate my skin.

  11. I wear makeup every…every.single.day. However several weeks ago I tried a new eye shadow and it has sent me into allergic reaction hell. I should have know my sensitive eye would revolt. So I have been eye shadow free for almost 4 weeks. And I wear glasses every day so I’m feeling a bit bare!

  12. origins ‘angel’ foundation. mary kay mascara and clinique eyeliner (must add water to it) my facial soap is from Grahams Gardens the avocado oatmeal bar.

  13. I have discovered that as I have advanced in age (almost 42) my skin is going crazy. I used to be able to get away with almost no foundation. Not true anymore. For the past several years, I have been using a mineral face powder as a foundation. Now that’s making my skin flakey. What’s a girl to do?
