What I Wore Wednesday

Oh my, I think I’m in a funk! I’m not liking anything I’m wearing lately.

I’m trying to pull things out of my closet that I haven’t worn in a while, but I’m not sure it’s working.

I wore this outfit to church on Sunday. I’ve had the dress for a while but I added textured tights and black wedge pumps that I recently bought from Target.

I wore this yesterday for Valentine’s Day. My usual black but I added a pop of red with my scarf. I have on my bling boots with boot socks, although you can’t see the boot socks very well. Target had their boot socks on sale for $3.50 so I bought a pair.
This is a light brown shirt and I added a black polka dot scarf and black boots.

That’s all I’ve got this week. This time of the year I start to get tired of my winter clothes but thankfully Spring will be here before we know it!

Don’t forget about my Olivetee giveaway. These tee shirts are adorable so go here and enter to win one!

Beauty For the Heart~~Today I wanted to encourage you to set aside some time everyday to read God’s word. In our busy lives we sometimes let this slip. Believe me, when I say it’s the ONE thing we desperately need.

If we want to live victorious lives we have to spend time with Jesus. This doesn’t mean our lives will be perfect, without trials, but when the trials come and they will come, we’ll be better prepared for them.

Philippians 3:10-12 says, I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

Let’s keep pressing on!

  1. Cyndi, no matter what you’re wearing–you’re beautiful.

I thought about you as I was getting dressed Saturday night. Jack and I went out for a Valentine’s dinner. He wanted me to wear something he would like, so I wore a Missoni dress he gave me a few years ago. I was skinny when he gave it to me (10 pounds less than I am now) so I wasn’t sure it would still fit. It did fit–just the way he liked it, if you know what I mean. I had been self-conscious about wearing it before because it’s fairly short, and I’m self-conscious about my legs because of my birthmark. But I wore it with my brown boots, and the juxtaposition of the dressy dress with the casual boots was really cool. I told Jack I felt like I should be wearing a name tag that said, “I’ve been married to this man for 27 years.” 🙂

Anyway, I’ve thought about you a lot lately–I’m really trying to break out of that old self-consciousness and wear things that are fashionable and fun–all while cultivating inner beauty most of all. You’re an inspiration!

  2. I am in a clothes funk also! My closet is full, but I can’t find anything to wear. I just stare at my clothes. Ha! You look adarable1

  3. Love that polka dot scarf! I’m thankful I don’t have to wear long underwear under my clothes in the house this week- doesn’t make a girl feel too pretty…or thin! 🙂
