Fashion Friday~Mother of the Bride Fashion

Happy Friday!

Yesterday I shared some mother of the bride etiquette and ideas with you.

Today, I’m going to share with you some dresses that would be

beautiful for the mother of the bride.

At my daughter’s wedding, I was her Matron of Honor so my color matched her

bridesmaids, but the style was different.

Honestly, I don’t think there are absolutes in fashion, for the mother of the bride.

Some will say don’t wear white, and in the past they said, don’t wear black,

but I’ve been to several weddings where the mother of the bride wore

black and they looked beautiful.

The style of the dress should compliment your size and shape.

For example, if you don’t want to show your arms, I would suggest a three quarter length sleeve.

If you have some belly bulge, don’t wear a tight fitting dress. Makes sense, right?

The color should also compliment the colors of the wedding.

Remember, you will have pictures made with the entire wedding party.

Traditionally, the mother of the bride picks her dress out first and then the mother of the groom.

Last year I attended my cousin, Kelly’s wedding and it was gorgeous!

My Aunt Pat (my Mom’s youngest sister) was the mother of the bride and wore a beautiful

dress from the  Montage collection by Mon Cheri.

Here is the dress on the website. You can check to see if they have a boutique near you

that sells the Montage collection here.

The Montage collection by Mon Cheri has so many beautiful dresses for the mother of the bride.

I love this dress from the Montage collection. The one shoulder dress is

popular and it comes with a matching shawl.

I could not get a great picture of the this dress from David’s Bridal but I love the sleeves!

This dress is from Macy’s and would be great if you’re not wanting to wear a long dress

and I love the short jacket.

Bottom line, get something you will feel comfortable in and

will compliment the wedding party.

This is an important day and you want to look and feel your best!

So what do you think, any other suggestions?

Have a great weekend!
