Favorite “Pin” Friday!

Happy Friday friends!!

I have a busy weekend ahead. I’m doing something I always say I’ll never

do again~~I’m have a garage sale!

My daughter talked me into it.

As always, we try to make it fun so my sister and sister-in-law are joining

in on the madness and they are coming over tonight to stay all night.

We might as well have a slumber party, right?

Oh well, I’ve got lots of pricing to do but I want to share two of

my favorite “pins” with you.

I love dresses. I know some women don’t like them but I think they are fun and feminine.

I think we’ve taken the casual look to the extreme. Don’t get me wrong,

I love casual but I do think there’s a time to dress up. 🙂

This is from the What I Wore blog. Isn’t this dress adorable!!

I love red and this dress is perfect for the summer months.

  • Necklace: F21
  • Dress: Milly (on sale!)
  • Ring: Giftbag
  • Belt: Target

This is from The Small Things Blog.

This would be a great dress if you don’t love to show your arms. The blue is beautiful!

  • Dress: Banana Republic Outlet
  • Jewelry: Watch, Target; Necklace, Elisabeth Ashlie; Bangle, Sak’s off 5th

What do you think, do you like to wear dresses?

Beauty For the Heart~~I wonder if any of you are like me?

Do you ever feel lonely? I do.

I have friends but we’re all busy and I don’t always take the time to

cultivate my friendships. Many of my friends are online,

we’ve met in real life but we don’t live close enough to see each other often.

I think it’s important as women to have friends that you can share “life” with.

Friendship takes time and energy and the old saying is true,

“to have a friend, you have to be a friend.”

Do you have friends that you’re sharing “life” with?

Let’s commit to working on our friendships!

“Love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it. Run for dear life from evil;

hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply;

practice playing second fiddle.” Romans 12:10 (Msg)

  1. Ohhh… posts like these remind me why I love your blog Cyndi. Your messages come from your heart and go right to mine. You are a dear “online friend”. 🙂 I just bought my first dress last week in years…. I’m often self concious about my hips (something us sisters inherited from our sweet, sweet Grandma). I find dresses soo femenine and my husband loves them on me too… which is wonderful! Thx for your Beauty For the Heart, Cyndi. Yes, I have wonderful friends but sometimes I feel lonely too. I feel like we’re in the busiest stage of our lives… with little ones 5 and almost 4. I love it, but sometimes I just yearn to sit down and have a good girlfriend talk. I’m glad for the reminder tho’, to have a friend we have to be a friend- thx! Two of my sisters live 8 hrs. and 16 hrs. from us and I miss them dearly…. and so does my Mom (8hrs)who is a best friend too. Cherish your daughter, and son-in-law and Dad and Traci and everyone, Cyndi that lives so close… you are blessed!!!!! I pray (along with our lil 5 yr old that misses his Bama soo much) every day for God to make a way where there seems to be no way… that our family could live closer together. Have a blessed and wonderful Cyndi… your blog is such a blessing! Love you!

  2. I love the red and blue dress, I would wear that in a minute! We can always put a bit of self-tanner on our legs to give them a little glow.
I read your article about friendship with a heavy heart. I can honestly say that right now, in my small city, I have not a single friend. Oh, I “know” people, but not like you know a friend. I had three good friends all the years my children went from preschool through high school. Then, one good friend move to Texas. Then another moved to Virginia. I live in Missouri. The last friend, died last summer from a long battle with cancer. For the past 27 years, I’ve suffered from acute chronic depression. Those girls saw me through hospitalizations, shock treatments, medication changes, etc. They knew all there was to know about me. my life and I, theirs.
In the last 6 or 7 years, my illness has taken yet another turn and I have become unable to leave my house with at all unless I’m with my husband and only on certain occasions. I still e-mail or chat occasionally with my girlfriends of old, but we’re not the integral part of each other’s lives as we once were and things are just not quite the same. Yes, my lack of a true friendship sometimes feeling like I’m living in a room with no windows. But for the Lord…. Friendships are like beautiful flowers, they need to be watered and tended to to bloom and flourish. Don’t ever take a friend in stride. They allow us to share our every emotion, joys, heartaches, dreams, regrets and hopes. Who else enables us such freedom of feeling…only Him who sent us.

  3. Love LOVE dresses! Although…I will admit that I am a little sheepish about my white legs now that Summer has arrived! 🙂 This weekend’s mission is to remedy this…. Thanks for the encouragement about sharing “life” — loneliness happens, but it’s so refreshing when we reach out and cultivate our relationships. Have a beautiful weekend! xoxo
