Half Up Hairstyle

Good morning ladies! Today I’m sharing a video of my half up hairstyle.

Can I apologize now for how dorky I look? I want to add videos to my blog but they kill me! If you wondered if I had an accent, well now you’ll know. It’s Kentucky/southern drawl. 🙂

Anyway, several of you emailed me about my hair when I posted this picture. You wanted to know how I got the volume on top.

So against my better judgement, I did this super quick video. That’s the only saving grace, it’s very short!

This is an easy style and works great if you’re having a bad hair day.

Let me know, did the video help? It might be the last one I ever do again. 🙂

I would love for you to follow me on PINTEREST to see things I love! Also, chat with my on my FACEBOOK page, it’s a great way to connect with me and ask me any questions you might have. If you want to see pictures of my day to day stuff, follow me on INSTAGRAM!

****I’ve added a pin it plugin to my website. If you see a picture you like in any of my posts, just hover your mouse over it, and you can quickly pin it to your Pinterest board.****

Have a blessed day!

  1. Loved the video! Please do more of them!! I’m going to do this everyday. I work in an office on the computer and phone all day and I cannot stand my hair in my eyes an face. I usually have 200 hair pins in my hair! Hehe have an awesome day!!

  2. Good morning! Loved your video’s on stying your hair but I would also like to see one on how you do your bangs!! Thank you!

  3. Thanks for the video! I tried this and it worked great. It even held through an entire shift of running around a restaurant up and down the stairs! I’ve wanted to know how to do this for so long and now I know just how easy it is! Thank you!

  4. good job!! love your tip. so helpful for those of us who thought our hair was too short!!! even I can do that! 🙂 thank you, Cyndi! bye …….. going to go try it!

  5. Cyndi! I knew I liked you already but seeing your video confirmed it! You are beautiful!! I always skipped that first step of bobby pinning the poof and it would eventually fall flat-thanks for teaching me the trick!! 🙂

  6. Cyndi love the video! I am asking for prayer for my family situation. If you would read about it on my blog and pray! Thanks!

  7. I love it! You are so cute. It is fun to hear your voice- makes your blog more real somehow. :o) I will have to try this trick on my hair.

  8. I loved the video! You did such a good job and didn’t look “dorky” at all 🙂 You and your sister do sound so much alike. Thanks and hope that you do more videos in the future!

  9. I must admit I had to hear the accent too! ha! Videos are so, so helpful. You are so adorable. Love this blog! Keep up the good work and give us MORE videos!!!!!

  10. I love your hair video Cyndi! I think it was GREAT! I can’t say much about your accent as I live in North Louisiana and have quit the drawl myself(so I really didn’t notice it at all 🙂 ). Your video was so helpful since I tend to pull my hair up and back quit a bit with the heat and humidity we have down here. My hair tends to look flat on top and with your video I just learned how to give it volume and height! Thanks Cyndi and God Bless.

  11. Ha – I have super short hair, so I must admit that I only watched the video to hear your accent. Love it! You and Traci sound so much alike. When my hair is finally grown out and long again, I will be sure to give the 4 bobby pin method a try!

  12. You are so cute!! I would like to be able to put my hair up like that but with super curly hair it doesn’t look very good. You’ve got the kind of hair that looks good no matter what. I’ve always wanted straight hair!!!!

  13. I LOVE THIS, Cyndi! YES, the video is very helpful. I am no good at putting my hair up, although I’d love to learn to do some things–it really helps me to see the step-by-step. Plus it’s fun to hear your voice! 🙂

I have an idea. I can come to Kentucky and you can do my hair and makeup. Traci can come over, we’ll have a big slumber party, and she can make videos of how you take someone with very little beauty sense and make her over! How does that sound? 🙂

  14. The video was good – I also watched and liked the one where you show how to do the straight ironing as well. Very helpful 🙂

  15. I learned something Cyndi! I always try to pull it all up in one swoop and half of it falls out. I like your 4 bobby pin method. I do love a little bit of poof so I’ll be trying your method. 🙂
