3 Easy Ways To Tie A Scarf

Good morning! Today I’m sharing 3 easy ways to tie a scarf. You know, I love wearing scarves and I’ve been wearing these three ways a lot over the last month.

 1. The Double Loop Wrap

Place the scarf around your neck with the ends hanging in the back. Loop the ends of the scarf around and back to the front. Tie the two ends together with a simple knot to make the second layer.

2. The Pretzel

Fold scarf in half and wrap it around your neck. You’ll have a loop on one side and the two ends on the other. Pull one end through the loop. Twist the loop and pull the second end through. Adjust as desired.

3. Neck Tie Knot (tied like a man’s neck tie).

This is perfect for women who don’t like a scarf wrapped tight around their neck.

Put the scarf around your neck with the ends to the front (I have one end a couple of inches longer than the other). Take the longest end and fold over the other two times. Take this same end up through the back and through the loop you created. Pull the ends taunt.

There are so many scarves to choose from: thick, thin, square, rectangular, infinity and more. Scarves can add color and texture to your outfit and if the weather is cold can help keep you warm.

Have you tried any of these ways to tie a scarf? What’s your favorite way to tie a scarf?

Beauty For the Heart~~The holidays are here and for many it’s not always a happy time of year. If you lost a loved one this time of the year can be difficult. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 reminds us that God comforts us and in turn we can comfort others, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”

Have a blessed day!

  1. Hey Alyssa!
My hair is not real thick. It’s fine buy I have a lot of it. I think you could pull it off, you would just have to use a flat iron.
Also, I shop at TJ Maxx, Target, Kohls, and Old Navy the most. But I’m not picky. 🙂
    I hope that helps!
    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  2. Hi Cyndi, Thanks for the tutorials! You look just gorgeous in the 3 different views! Your scarf is absolutely beautiful! For my birthday last week, my son and his wife gave me a beautiful sweater and scarf and my daughter and her husband gave me a beautiful sweater and scarf! (I let them fight it out about who had the idea first 🙂 ) Anyway, I now have two pretty, new scarves and new ways to tie them!
Thanks so much, your tips and tricks and spirituality make your blog a daily treat.

  3. Thanks Cyndi! When I do wear a scarf, I like the “pretzel” look. I also like the infinity scarves, but it limits creativity. I agree with a poster above about the bracelet. Looks great in the pics! 🙂 Love your ideas, Keep them coming.

  4. LOVE! I am becoming more and more of a scarf wearer lately. Where do you shop for clothes? I live in the boonies and find shopping difficult.

Also is your hair really THICK? I love your haircut but mine is wavy and I’m not sure I could pull it off.

  5. I like the scarf tutorial, but I’d really like a close look at that bracelet! Where did you get it? Perfect for so many outfits. CTD

  6. Your scarfs always look so nice but in Southern California we just don’t get cold enough 🙁 Would you believe I just got long pants out last week? Making it very hard to feel like fall. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
