Favorite “pins” Friday-Organization

Happy Friday! Well, Christmas is barely over and I’m ready to start cleaning up and getting organized for the New Year. So my “pins” today are all about organization.

Luckily, I have a friend that is an organization expert, Becky from Organizing Made Fun. Her blog is such a great help. Thousands of ideas!

Becky introduced me to these black velvet hangers. They are thin and help maximize closet space. I have started transitioning to these hangers.

Amazon has Velvet Hangers and I’m planning on ordering some soon! You can go here to see them!

Velvet Hangers

I found this on Pinterest for organizing your necklaces. They’re silverware trays! I would love to do this!

I have lots of scarves (imagine that!). I found this belt hanger and I use it for my scarves.

They hang nicely and they’re easy to get to.

I found them on Amazon and you can go here to order one.

Are you in the mood for organizing? Are you always looking for ideas?

Thanks for stopping by!

Beauty For the Heart~~I found this poem on another blog and I remembered my Mom having it, it’s very inspiring. The author is unknown.

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow—
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor’s cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out—
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit—
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Have a blessed day!

  1. That’s so funny Judith. My husband is super organized too. One day I’m going to show his garage. It’s perfectly organized. Why can’t I be that way??
    Happy New Year!

  2. Would those hangers work for sweaters? I want to hang most of my sweaters b/c I’ll wear them more than if they’re put away in drawers. Right now I’m using satin hangers but they’re bulky.

  3. I have all my clothes on the black velvet hangers. I also got them at Costco. Makes the closet look so neat and takes up less room. I would recommend them to everyone. Keep the ideas coming.

  4. I am a terrible organizer Cyndi, just awful. Seems like the more I try to organize, the more DIS-organized everything becomes! My husband, on the other hand, is the king of organizing, he makes it seem so easy and it always works. God bless him, he tries so hard not to complain, but once or twice a year, I’ll open the pantry and “voila!”, it looks so neat! I open up the linen closet and wonder if it’s ours, the spice cabinet, the bookcase and even…MY closet! Maybe these tips will help me…kinda, sorta, a little bit.

  5. I love organizing Cyndi… thanks for the great tips! Love the scarf/belt thingy!!
Looking forward to more organizing tips in 2013!
    Happy New Year 🙂

  6. Thanks for the helpful organization tips. I am always looking for helpful tips. It seems the more I try to get organized that worse I get. LOL

  7. Well, i think I must be the last person in America to still celebrate the 12 days of Xmas, so I’m only on day four. However, I’m into organizing anytime and love all your ideas as well as those of Casey.
I really like the the hangers, but I have so many of the other kind. I used to keep my clothes color coordinated with the hanger! I still do more or less as it really helps me get ready in the morning. Maybe I just need better light in my closet!
Ikea sells those scarf hangers very cheap. I get the old fashioned belt/tie holders at thrift shops and hand my necklaces from them and use my old mug stands for bracelets. I have a lot of jewelry, so I’m always looking for better ways to organize it. LOVE the flatware caddy idea, just don’t know where I could put it. You’ve gotten my wheels turning. Hope you have a great New Year! I’m glad I found your blog. Informative and inspiring. CTD

  8. Love the organization tips this morning. January is such a great time to get organized. May I “borrow” the poem? It sure is just the right words at just the right time.

  9. I love the velvet hangers! Started transitioning to those recently. I found them at Costco. I believe they were $10 for a box of 35. Also for the jewelry organization, look for those thread spindle racks at yardsales, thrift shops. I found 3 for $1 each and painted them hung them on the wall & now I can see my necklaces with ease. If you want a cheap and easy way to hang belts and scarves, get some of the smooth round plastic shower curtain rings and attach those to the bottom bar of a hanger. Just pop the ring open to attach or remove a belt, and you can usually fit all but the largest scarves thru the rings. Love the poem. It sure fits where I’m at today. Got some things pressing on me and I just need to hang on and listen for God to guide me. Hope you all have a beautiful New Year and many blessings come your way in 2013! Thank you Cyndi for such a great blog and your encouragement each day.
