Mixing Fashion & Faith

Over a year ago I wrote a post titled, Can you Mix Fashion & Jesus? I wasn’t sure how well it would go over but the response was incredibly positive. I decided to start moving my blog in the direction of fashion & faith and it has been quite a journey!

I’ve even gotten a little more specific with sharing tips for women over 40. Blogland is full of young fashion bloggers, but everything they wear and use isn’t always appropriate for my age group.

I love blogging about fashion & faith and this past Friday, I was blessed to get to share with a group of young Moms, called MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) about Fashion & Faith. It was so much fun!

Fashion & Faith

This was the only picture I took and it was of the beginning of my power point presentation. I shared about fashion and makeup tips. We also talked about the spring trends and the spring colors.

These are the colors to wear for Spring/Summer 2013. Emerald green is going to be the most popular color of the season.

Fashion & Faith

After we talked about fashion, I was able to talk about the most important part, and that’s about my faith. I shared that true beauty is found in having a personal relationship with Jesus. I love this quote and shared it too.

Lastly, I wanted to let you know that I’m putting together a Faq page. I get a lot of questions about the products I use in my hair, makeup I use, etc. So I thought I would keep an updated page on my blog with all those questions answered. So look for that coming soon!

If you have a question you would like for me to add, please let me know in the comments or you can email me at cyndispivey(at)gmail(dot)com.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a blessed day!

  1. Cyndi…I agree with the others! Thanks for saving us from dressing like a teenager or at least 20-somethings! lol the styles & fashion out there these days can be so confusing but I’m learning to ask myself “Is this age appropriate?” before I buy! Love the quote! I need to put that up on my bathroom mirror! Beauty comes from knowing WHO we are in Christ Jesus!

  2. Hi, Cyndi. I am a 47-year-old pastors wife in Georgia. I find I have hit an age where I not only need to work smarter (and a little harder) on my appearance, I actually enjoy it. You have helped me so much! Thank you for saving me from wearing the Uggs boots:) people have really noticed the difference since I started using your advice. I appreciate your ministry. I will pray for you; I hope you will pray for me:)

  3. So thankful for your blog! I love that you give tips for those of us “over 40”. I love make-up & fashion as much now as I did when I was in my 20’s. Most of all, thank you for sharing your faith. So important to plant seeds!

  4. I came across your blog within the past few months and just love it! I’m so glad you blessed those moms at MOPS with such a wonderful presentation. I know they must have been blessed.

Thank you for sharing your ideas – both fashion and faith! Can’t wait to see the new FAQ page.

  5. Happy Monday Cyndi! Today’s post was PERFECT! I loved everything about it! I got some MUCH needed information about colors to look for this Spring/Summer, but also a great spiritual lesson about the real thing that shows our beauty, the Lord God Almighty creating light through us showing our true beauty regardless of what we wear. I also believe that taking care of ourselves and dressing in the best way we can shows we believe that our bodies are the temples of Christ and in our outward expressions, we also worship Him for giving us His gift.

  8. Hi Cyndi! This is my first time to post, I really enjoy your blog. I am a 50 something women and definitely need direction/suggestions for fashion. Your post or tweet (cannot remember) on the L’Oreal hair products has helped the condition of my hair as I purchased the products and am currently using them. I love how you incorporate your faith in Christ as well. Blessings

  9. Hi Cyndi! I follow your blog daily (I only follow two blogs!) and was wondering if you ever told us the Valentine outfit you chose. I’ve been wondering since you posted the choices. 🙂
    Blessings to you!

  10. I appreciate your blog. It really is hard to find good fashion advice as we get older. I’ll be 40 in a year, and don’t want to be that frumpy mom or that 40-yr-old-trying-to-be-20 mom. Also, thanks for sharing your faith, too. They definitely do go together.

  11. Hi Cyndi, I have been following your page for quite some time now. I look forward to it. I am 69 and feel like I can incorporate some of your styles and keep “up to date.” I just bought my first chambray shirt and I love it. Sooo soft. Keep up the Lord’s work and bless you.
