My Home Office Makeover

I’m starting the summer with some home projects and the first one is my office makeover. I’m so excited about this because I use my office all the time. I’m wanting to do some of my videos using my office but it has been an eye sore for me.

My husband loves to hunt and fish and anything else outdoors. Since we moved here 4 years ago, he has had deer hanging in our office. Ugh! I don’t even have a picture to show you because I never took one. I did not like it!

We recently built a building on our property for all of his “stuff”. And his deer have a new home! I’m so happy!!

So, I’m in the process of making over our office. I have some ideas but I’m still trying to figure out what I want it to look like. This is what it looks like right now, a little rough.

My Home Office Makeover

This is the paint color I’ve picked out. It’s Gray Clouds by Sherwin Williams. I’ve started painting but my Dad is coming tomorrow to help me get it finished. Yay!

I have one print that I’m having framed and I know I’m going to use it. This is the print from my blog. I actualy had this picture taken a few years ago and that’s me with my red shoes on.

Red will be a color I use and I’m hoping to add some turquoise. That’s about as far as I’ve gotten.

Here are some inspiration pictures from Pinterest:

I definitely need some book shelves.

I’m hoping to get this done in the next month so I’ll share it with you when it’s all finished.

Do you have any summer projects going on at your house?

  1. Hooray for outdoor building where the guys can put their hunting stuff! I can’t wait to see what you come up with. I know it will be fabulous! Lisa~

  2. I love the big window in your new office and the white trim! I can’t wait to see the finished pictures. I wish I had a room to make into an office so I don’ t have to keep my “work” all over the house.

  3. Your new office will be gorgeous! Can’t wait to see the finished project. 🙂
We are almost finished with out outside project of our chicken coop and pen. The coop is finished but the pen lacks a little painting on the tin. I’m thinking we own the very first and only camouflaged chicken coop!! Daughters painting idea!

  4. Niceeee! I love the idea of using your blog’s print. I love the organization in the second to the last photo. So detailed yet neat.

You inspired me to do the same. I don’t have much space but I will definitely do some research on how to make it beautiful and conducive for working. Must love WAHM’s life! 🙂

  5. Thanks for including my home office! I can’t wait to see what you come up with…I am sure it will be fabulous! You have wonderful taste in everything you do!

  6. That is going to be so lovely! I hope you’ll post a photo of the finished space!

I have a question but not about your office makeover. I noticed your Mac laptop on the desk has a shell on it. Do you have a Macbook Air or Pro? Which case is it? I have a new Macbook Air and am considering a shell but wasn’t sure which one was best. Just curious!

  7. Yea for the deer head gone!!!! Lol. Can’t wait see what you will accomplish. Thx for sharing with us. 🙂

P.S. I was reviewing the video with the dark circles cover up and I have a question or 2…, I have circles too but not dark just circles … So do You think I need all three products??? if not which ones and where can I buy them!

    Thanks so much 🙂

  8. Looks like fun! My summer projects start with CLEANING and ORGANIZING to make up for all I haven’t done during this school year but I do have new bedding and plans for my bedroom and some other ideas for after that unfortunate necessary stuff! I’m counting down – FOUR MORE!

  9. I’m about to do the same thing. I bought the paint. Now just have to get it on the wall. And then the fun part starts!

  10. LOL…I have a hubby like that as well. Our deer head is in the living room!
The red and turquoise will look great with the gray! The picture will be a nice touch as well. Can’t wait to see more!

  11. Such a wonderful thing to do for yourself. Can’t wait to see the results. We are doing some things in the backyard and have had fun grilling and sitting around the new fire pit with the kids roasting marshmellows.

  12. Looking forward to seeing the finished room! My husband is also an outdoors man and we have deer heads! I have moved them to the lower level. Hope to see more of your house. Enjoy the blog!

  13. You have such a beautiful space to work with! Love the idea of red and turquoise, too! Can’t wait to see the finished project!

  14. Getting ready to start a makeover on our home office too! Anxious to see your completed project! And thanks for the inspiration to get started on mine today!

  15. We built our home 5 years ago and as I walked through it after coming home from vacation at our daughter’s it all seemed a little blah. So I am refreshing the walls with paint and trying a stenciling technique in my laundry area. Our home office is on the list as well and I will be anxiously watching your progress for ideas. Have fun making it your own. Thanks or sharing! Blessings.

  16. You go girl! (So glad you got rid of the deer that were hanging in the office!) You will make it look lovely…and functional I’m sure! Cuz you’ve got such wonderful taste!

    Have a glorious day!
