3 Beauty Products For Women Over 40

3 Beauty Products for Women Over 40

Today I wanted to share 3 Beauty Products For Women Over 40, I’m using and why I like them. All of these products, I received as samples in my Birchbox over the last year. I tried them, loved them, and then ordered them. (Of course you don’t have to be over 40 to use them but they are good for our age.)

These are old news, but I still love my beauty blender. I have an expensive foundation brush, but I always go back to my beauty blender.

It blends your foundation into your skin in a perfect amount giving you a flawless finish. For maturing skin this is important!

You wet and wring the egg shaped applicator out (I didn’t do this when I used it the first time and then I read the directions) then use a small stippling motion to apply your foundation.

This product I received in my January Birchbox. I have used other brands of dry shampoo and didn’t like them. I tried Klorane and loved it.

I use a lot of product in my hair so I usually wash it everyday. But with this dry shampoo, I can skip days.

  • It cleans hair without water in 2 minutes.
  • Extends life between shampoos.
  • Ideal for on-the-go
  • Adds volume and texture
  • Received Allure’s Best of Beauty Award

I was told last year to use Benefit’s POREfessional under my eyes to help fill in wrinkles. I tried it and I loved the way it felt on my skin.

I recently realized you can use this as an all over primer for your face before applying makeup. I have to admit, I’m a little addicted to this stuff.

It feels amazing on my skin. I use it as an eye and face primer. The silky, oil-free formula diffuses pores and fine lines for an “airbrushed” finish.

Okay, so these are some products I’m using right now and loving!

I’m looking ahead to March and working on some posts. Is there anything you would like for me to write about? I love to hear from you!

Beauty For the Heart~~I’ve shared with you all recently that I’m studying Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby. It’s such a great study.

This week I’ve been reminded that God loves us deeply and profoundly. He loves us and has given us guidelines for living so we will not miss the full dimensions of the love relationship.

“For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.” 1 John 5:3

Have a blessed day!

  1. Still wondering if you’ve tried other generic beauty blenders and what makes the original worth the expense? There are generics for 1/3 the cost of these. Just curious.

  2. Hey Kim,
The beauty blender is a pink sponge. There are two of them in that package.
You wet the sponge and wring it out and then use it to put your foundation on.
If you google beauty blender, you’ll find a lot of info. on them.
    I hope that helps!
    Cyndi

  3. Hi Cyndi…I need to give dry shampoo a try if it gives you lift and volume. Never thought about that. Do you have to order the kind you mentioned or is it available in stores? I like the days when you post “outfits” as it gives me more ideas how to put things together. Sharing your exercise routine would be fun to hear about as I find it hard to stay motivated. Enjoy your blog so much. Thank you

  4. I too would love a review of maskcaras foundation! Also, I love that this is a beauty & fashion blog and not a blog about EVERYTHING. I love the style posts, pictures and explanation of the thought process behind how you put things together. I’d be interested in budgeting (like someone else mentioned) too. Thanks for all the great posts!!!

  5. Cyndi,
I would love in your upcoming posts to discuss how you budget and shop.
How do you decide what to buy…where to shop and why. With so many Scripture verses about money, I really struggle with balancing spending and giving.
    thanks Sister

  6. I LOVE Porefessional!! Bought a few of Sephora’s new line of nail polishes yesterday. So far I’m impressed how well it stayed on today.

  7. Hi Cyndi! I really like the content of your blog presently and would like to keep it much the same. You add tidbits about food or recipes, and that’s great, but I love your blog because it is specifically on fashion and beauty and how God’s work in our hearts is the key to everything! I can look up recipes on-line, and I do a lot of research myself about eating, so I like the specifcness of how you approach your writing. I love fashion and get lots of ideas from you, and I loved what you shared today. I was surprised because I feel I don’t need many more products and like what I have, but I’ve ordered all 3! THANK YOU!!

  8. Undereye concealer is applied AFTER foundation. Depending on what you need concealed (dark circles, under eye bags, etc.) will influence how the concealer is applied. In my case ( bags under eyes) my concealer is only placed in the crease where the puffiness starts. If you apply it all over the puffy area, it will make it worse. I also use a small brush to apply it.

  9. Hi Cyndi,
Have you written about bra’s? 🙂 I’m interested to see if anyone has tried the Jockey bra’s. They send you different cups and a measuring tape, you choose the one you like and they will send you a bra that customized for you, well that’s what the infomercial says 😉
    xxoo

  10. I agree with Debbie, I love Batiste dry shampoos, and it is inexpensive. I have used Porefessional before and wasn’t overly impressed; maybe I should try again. I am ashamed to say that I, too, received a beauty blender in my BirchBox but haven’t tried it. I must!

  11. Ooohhh… I want to try these products. I’ve never heard of the Beauty Blender. Can you use it for Bare Mineral makeup? In March it would be great to hear about eating right, meal plans along with recipes – especially ones that are quick to make since I am on the go. Faith stories from other women. Of course beauty & fashion tips. I love your blog Cindi!

  12. I love all Klorane products. When living in Montreal, my bestie’s Dad was some biggie with them and she always gave me tons of samples. It’s been hard to get here in the States. All their stuff is amazing. i used to love their birch shampoo. Seems like I’ll have to break down and get the blender. I recently readof a good dupe for the Porefessionql, but can’t remember what it was or where I saw it! would you know?

I too look forward to your review of the Cara’s 111D product line and how it works for “older ” skin.

  13. I would like tips on how to use concealer. When I went to the Sephora counter and bought mine they put it all the way up under my eyes to the lashes. But I’ve read to use it just where needed. I use it under my foundation. Is this correct?

  14. Hi Cyndi,
I also use the Beauty Blender and Benefit’s Porefessional but haven’t tried the dry shampoo( I like Batiste dry shampoo) A cheap tip, I use baby shampoo to clean my Beauty blender & it does great! Love your blog, the daily verses are just what I need lots of days!

  15. Hi Cyndi! I love my beauty blender too! Do you use the cleaner by beauty blender also or have you tried and liked something else? I use the beauty blender cleaner but think it’s a bit pricey and would like to hear if any one has tried other things to clean their sponge! Cyndi, I would love to know some about your take on modesty as a Christian woman who loves fashion. Also I’d love for you to share how you taught these concepts to Courtney and your son as well. I’ve asked before:) Thank you so much! I do so love your blog!!! Krista

  16. Great review! As one of your younger readers, I hope to see more marriage and family posts in March. I am also interested to see how the clean eating is going. Any favorite recipes you’d like to share? You’re a great role model for my generation and I always look forward to checking your blog during my baby’s morning nap!

  17. Cyndi I ordered a beauty blender and am looking forward to giving it a try!!! I also want to try the POREfessional. I’ve seen it for a while but didn’t know anything about it. I’ll get some when I can. Thanks for sharing!! Love your beauty for the heart!

  18. I don’t understand what the beauty blender is? Is it a brush? Do you put your foundation in that plastic container? Sorry I don’t get what it is, doesn’t look like a brush….confused:(

  19. Great stuff. I will keep these products in mind. The shampoo Klorane, I do have something similar to that, but have not used it yet. I do not wash my hair every day, nor use a lot of chemicals on it. I prefer it natural and soft. I do have a very slight frosting on it to mix in with the grey, so I do use a leave in conditioner, once a week. I do not use but a slight little foundation under my eyes…not over the whole face. I prefer natural skin and love to tone it up in the sun. Thank you for these wonderful products!

  20. I have never thought about using a dry shampoo but it would help extend the life of my hair color by not shampooing everyday.
