What I Wore-Fashion For Women Over 40

Good morning from San Francisco! Traci and I made it safely and we’re excited about the next few days.

Because of my crazy week, I only snapped one picture. But I thought I would do a What I Wore during the month of March post. (This is the last Wednesday in March, can you believe it?)

So here’s some Fashion For Women Over 40:

It was cold again on Sunday so I pulled out my tights and boots. I recently purchased this dress from Zulilly.

Have you tried Zulilly? Zulilly offers daily deals of new boutique items—all at an average of 50% off. Membership is free, and you can sign up here.

Well the month of March was cold in Kentucky. Maybe April will be warmer, I’d love to start wearing sandals!

What do you love most about spring?

Beauty for the Heart~~When I think of spring, I also think about spring cleaning around my house. Windows need to be washed, closets need to be re-organized and so on.

But what about a spiritual spring cleaning? With the change of a season, it’s a good time to evaluate our heart. Are we holding any grudges? Are we bitter, or hurt?

Psalm 51:10 says, “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” Let’s spring clean our hearts too!

Have a blessed day!

  1. I think we’re rowing the same boat! I too will be turning 40 this November. Up until 2 years ago I was Mennonite. We have since left that way of life & I am relearning all these girly things. I wasn’t raised in that denomination so I did do these things once upon a time but I was in my early 20’s then. I love Cyndi’s blog so much. Especially now that I’m having to dress an older me. 🙂

  2. Hi Rebecca! I will be 40 next month and have also been trying to take better care of myself (if I only started doing that 20 years ago) and dress fashionable. I am so glad that I found this blog a few weeks ago. I LOVE it!
Remember that you were fearfully and wonderfully made. 🙂
    Psalm 139:14

  3. I LOVE the jacket. I am a plus size so it is hard to find cute clothes.
Have a wonderful time on your trip and come home safely.

    God Bless!

  4. Oh I am so happy to have found this blog! I am 39 years old, and struggling with the fact that I will be the big 4-0 in just 9 short months! I have been trying to take better care of myself, and dress a little better. I’ve never been very fashionable, but as I age and my children grow (12 and 16) I am trying to ditch the “mom” look and look a little more put together. My husband appreciates the efforts – although he is sweet and never complained. Trouble is, I was never really taught – nor tried to learn – how to dress fashionably or even apply makeup. I have never worn much makeup. But again – as I age – I think I need to start. So anyway – I’m rambling – but so many fashion blogs are written by 20 somethings and I feel so silly! I want to look pretty, but not like I’m trying to look 20 again. So all of that to say – Hooray! Your blog is awesome! And you dress so well, so cute, and you DO look young, but you don’t look like an older woman trying too hard. Does that make sense? I need all the help I can get so I am glad the Lord has led me here. And the things you say about beauty coming from the inside. I need that. I struggle with that. My husband gets so frustrated with me when I put myself down. But I am very guilty of comparing myself to beautiful women and feeling like I don’t measure up. My husband thinks I’m beautiful, so he says, and I need to learn to stop arguing with him. I am thankful to know Jesus Christ as my Savior. I am still growing as a Christian, and I need to learn to find and accept my worth in Christ. I cannot wait to keep reading. Thank you for your blog. I am so happy to be here!

  5. Cyndi,

That dress from Zulilly looks adorable on you! It is still cold here in Wisconsin – we had freezing rain and the roads were treacherous yesterday! We need spring! God Bless!

  6. Love the dress! Couldn’t find it on zulilly but I do love the sight. I’m sure I will be ordering from them. Hope to hear about your trip soon.

  7. I love the dress too! The other outfits are all so very cute too, but I’m always looking for skirts or dresses for church that are really pretty and fun. I looked on dresses on Zulily and couldn’t find yours. Do you have any more info? I hate to ask now as I’m sure you’re having a ball in SF, and I do hope that each moment is special. Can’t wait to hear all about your time!

  8. Love the beauty for your heart today.. that’s the best kind of cleaning, but often the hardest to do. Springtime does make it easier t forgive and move ahead.
Have fun in SF. Make sure to visit China town and maybe The big trees and hour north if you have the time.

  9. I have not purchased from Zulily. I usually do not have luck ordering clothes; because of the fit, they usually go back, but I Love this dress and yep…most of your outfits you recapped on. Thank you for the reminder to “spring clean” our hearts. Enjoy your time in San Fransisco. Can’t wait to hear all about it.
