How To Wear A Peasant Blouse

Spring and summer usually have a more casual feel when it comes of fashion. The peasant blouse is the perfect example and is back in style for 2014.

The peasant blouse is loose fitting and is a mix of casual and polished. I recently purchased this peasant blouse from JCPenney. I dressed mine up a little with large gold earrings and some cute bracelets.

I also like the feel of the material. It’s lightweight and can be worn all summer. I think it would be cute with a pair of shorts too.

How to wear the peasant blouse:

  • Make sure you don’t buy a larger size than what you need. If it looks too big it can make you look sloppy.
  • When wearing a peasant blouse, wear a slim-fitting pair of pants to balance out its loose proportions.
  • Never wear a flowy skirt, or something with a lot of volume.

Have you tried a peasant blouse? How would you style the peasant blouse?

Beauty For the Heart~~Yesterday in church the pastor used Psalm 51 as his text. It’s one of my favorites. I was reading it in different versions. This is what verse 12 says in the NIRV,

“Give me back the joy that comes from being saved by you. Give me a spirit that obeys you. That will keep me going.”

Have you ever lost your joy? Sometimes life can be difficult and before we know it, we’ve lost our joy. If this happens then pray for it to be restored. He will be faithful!

Have a blessed day!

  1. Love the peasant blouse,It looks so great on you. JC Penny’s has a good sale on them now. They also look great with a denim shirt. God Bless!!

  2. I have always worn the peasant blouse look. It is probably my favorite look. I have a thin neck and am tiny on top, so this look is very flattering for me during the summer months. I feel casual yet dressy. Thanks Cyndi for the suggestion of putting earring and bracelets with this look too.

  3. Debbie I don’t want know why they aren’t offering my color. I bought mine in the store but I noticed it wasn’t online. Sorry about that!!

  4. I see the peasant blouses everywhere but I just do not care for the elastic necklines. But, it sure looks cute on you. I might have to break down and try one. Happy week!

  5. I tried to buy the cute blue peasant shirt on Penneys website. It has the same color/print pictured but not listed as one of the options. Am I missing something? Can you help?

  6. I’m a sucker for peasant blouses, love them and cant seem to pass by them in the store. They probably are not the most flattering on me, but I feel “so me” in them and then I have a great day!

  7. I bought a white one for this season, for it’s versatility. I love that it fits in with my more boho Spring/Summer style. Love the color on this one you’ve chosen. great point about not getting one too oversized and wearing with more form fitting bottoms…

  8. I bought a very pretty light blue sand-washed silk one at Marshall’s early in spring…. I love it and have worn it with many different things including a dark-wash denim pencil skirt! I love your beauty for the heart today Cyndi. I have always been a very up-beat and bubbly person. Lately I’ve found I’ve had to work to keep that joy that used to come so naturally. Joy is a gift from God! Earthly troubles last only for a time but the gift the joy of salvation is eternal! Thank you for this reminder… I needed it:) Krista

  9. LOVE you in the peasant top! I really like the color you chose too :). I am looking for one with red accents for July 4th. I have lost my joy at times, especially when my parents died, but God is good (all the time!) and I always got it back! I am blessed by an amazing God! Happy Monday!

  10. I am a pear shape and have tried on several of the peasant tops and they make me look really frumpy. Sometimes a trend is just not for certain shapes and I won’t be wearing any of the peasant tops this summer.

  11. I love the peasant blouse look but only if they are not too billowy. I’ve bought one or two of them and love the loose feel and feminine touch.

  12. Such a pretty top! I think these are perfect for summer, nice and flowy and won’t be too hot. I have a few and know i could pick up a few more. Love the outfit as normal! 🙂
