Gladiator Sandals-2014 Fashion Trend

It’s finally Friday! Woo hoo! I’m ready for the weekend and I’m hoping to spend a lot of it outside. We’re having some beautiful weather and after the winter we had, I’m really appreciating it.

Last week I shared about gladiator sandals being a summer fashion trend. Some of you like them, and some of you don’t.

One of the things we talk about for women over 40–we don’t need to wear every trend. For instance belly shirts are a popular trend right now, but I’m not going to be sporting that one.

I am more lenient with trends when it comes to shoes. I love shoes and I like to try different styles. So, of course I wanted to try the gladiator sandal.

I found these at Marshall’s, they’re Lucky Brand (similar here) and I like them because they have a small heel. They’re also comfortable!

I probably would not wear the gladiator sandals that go all the way up my leg, that’s a little too much for me.

What do you think? Do you like to try different styles in shoes?

Beauty For the Heart~~And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary. Galatians 6:9

Christians sometimes become weary. There is so much opposition to the best plans for doing good; there is so much to be done; there are so many calls on their time, but Paul encourages us to persevere! Don’t grow weary. Keep doing good!

Have a blessed day!

  1. I love the color of the cardigan but not a fan of the gladiator sandals. Wish I could wear the fly-aways but I think I’m too short as they make me look “stubby”. I don’t think there’s much you “can’t” wear Cyndi 🙂

  2. I love your shoes, adorable !!!! I love all of the shoe trends and like a little heel even on my casual shoes. I find that flat shoes hurt my feet. Love your blog!

  3. I like some of the gladiator sandals, especially with a little wedge heel. I am not a fan of the fly-away cardigan, personally, as a stylist told me that it hits at the widest part of my hips and makes me look “frumpy.” It is not a slenderizing look for me. I do have a couple from Stitch Fix, but I don’t wear them often. The stylist told me that the fly-away cardigans look best on women taller than me. 🙁 I am 5’6″ on a very good day. LOL

Thanks for sharing Cyndi! You look super cute, as always.

  4. I like to try trendy shoes as well!! I’m 47, and I agree some trends aren’t for me. But I love gladiator sandals! Now the tall ones, might look silly! Love your total look!! So put together!

  5. I too love the cardigan…the background is a nice change as well. Not a fan of the gladiator….but you’re still cute 🙂
    Have a blessed weekend Cyndi!

  6. not a gladiator shoe fan- cannot slip out of them at the door as I enter my shoe free home or slip into them at the door to dash out. oh well.
really like the cardi as others have mentioned.
I am curious also how your healthy eating efforts are going. is it any more difficult as summer adds so many more activities? how did it go while on your sabbatical ? also, curious how you are able to coordinate your work schedule with your hsb’s which usually also includes pastor’s wife..??? sorry to be so nosey

  7. Love the jeans, the shoes and cardi! It’s very youthful without trying. I agree; shoes can really update an outfit. The only trend I don’t see for over 40s (or anyone imo) wearing are the 6″ stiletto platforms. To my eye they just look like minnie mouse or worse.

  8. We’re all wondering where you got your cardigan! Love the color and just like the look of the whole outfit! Bless you, Cyndy!

  9. LOVE the short sleeve flyaway….where did you get that? I love the flyaways, but all mine are too warm to wear anymore now that summer is here! Also – love the shoes, very cute!
    Thank you !
