9. White layering tank top-I wear a tank top under most of my tops. During the summer I buy cheaper ones because my sunless tanning products stain them, I buy new ones regularly.

  1. In my neck of the woods I don’t wear too many jeans due to heat and humidity.. I’d trade those out for linen pants and the current trend of soft pants. I do however love a white jean for evening activities in air conditioning..lol!

I love the colorful sleeveless tops!

    1. Cindi,

I love the look and feel of linen pants but I have an issue with the way they wrinkle once you sit down, I instantly feel sloppy.
Does this both bother you, if so how do you deal with it?

  2. I bought a couple Snug tanks and after a short time, mine pilled up terribly. I emailed Cyndi about this and shared another brand, Shimera, from Nirdstrom that I really like! I now have 3 and want to order one in white. So far, they have held up much better! Just no wearing with tanning products 🙂

  3. I wish I knew about wearing cheap tanks while using self tanners. I bought two of the nice snug tanks and took with me on my cruise and ruined both of them:(

  4. I agree with the tanks from Target. They are a perfect length and fit awesome! And the price is right!

  5. There are wonderful tunic seamless strappy tanks at Target. They are mossimo and in the ladies section. They are $12 and are seamless and do a nice shaping type coverage under tops! They are so long! They stay put and are great.

  6. Great list of go-to items. The only thing I’d add is good quality nude undergarments. A must when sporting light colored T -shirts and white pants! 😉

  7. Have you tried J Jill tanks? They have become my go to tanks, they run a little longer, and are forgiving around the middle, I think that helps with the ride up issue.

  8. I think you covered it all beautifully! What about accessorizing? What essentials are key in your opinion?

  9. Andrea, hope you don’t mind another reader chiming in here! I think white jeans look nice on everyone – so fresh and summery. Just pick a color that looks good with your skin for your tops. I’m fair-skinned and find that sometimes an off-white as a neutral next to my face looks better than white.

  10. Love these ideas! I’d like to add the colorful sleeveless tops and the boyfriend jeans. I haven’t had luck finding either of these yet that I like, so I’ll have to head to JCP and Dillard’s to see if they carry these in-store!

  11. White is not the best color for me. I am already very fair and color my hair red. My mom had skin cancer so I am very careful about Sun exposure. Not really into the self tanners. Is there an alternative color?

  12. Do you have suggestions on layering tanks/camis? I have the hardest time with them riding up when they need to be untucked.
