Friday Fashion For Women Over 40

Well, I was overwhelmed by your comments yesterday. Truthfully, I’m thankful there are women in the same boat that I’m in with menopause, peri-menopause and hormones. We’re in this together ladies!

I’m also excited that I can share some things that have worked for me. I would love to interview my husband and let him share with you all the difference that my essential oils have made in my overall physical health. He can tell a difference!

Let’s be clear, I’m not a doctor but I think most OBGYN’s agree that there are risks with hormone supplements. That’s why it’s important you do the research and do what’s best for YOU. Essential oils have worked for me and the great thing is, there are NO bad side effects. Yay!

More about my crazy hormones and what I’m doing to control them next week! Now let’s get on with Friday Fashion for Women over 40.

This green blouse from Stitch Fix is probably my favorite top that I’ve worn all summer. It’s comfortable and I love the color.

I recently purchased these leopard print flats from Zappo’s and they’re my favorite pair ever!!!! I love them!! The brand is Roper and they run about 1/2 size big. I usually wear a 7 1/2 but I ordered a 7 and they fit perfectly.

Do you have an outfit or top that has been your favorite item this summer?

Beauty For the Heart~~I was thinking about how important it is for us to encourage each other. Whether it’s encouraging each other in our faith, our health, parenting etc. We all need encouragement!

Proverbs 12:25 (NLT) says, Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.

Encourage someone today!!

Have a blessed day!

  1. I love this green-it transitions beautifully with cognac and teal for fall. Green and white have been staples this summer but then I love green everything!

  2. Love the green- such a fresh look! I’m just stRting to dig in to the essential oils… I know you’ve posted on them before so at some point I’ll revisit those posts. Look forward to learning more… It’s time to take charge of my health! Xo Heidi

  3. Cyndi, you have always been an inspiration to me ever since the day I stumbled across your blog. I just feel at home here and even more so knowing that your experiences are very similar to mine. I am at the place now that you were 2 years ago as far as weight is concerned. I just turned 47 this year and I feel it. I have been in perimenopause for quite some time and just recently, in fact, soon after this last birthday, I believe I have begun the initial stages of menopause. I have really struggled with mood swings in the past. They aren’t quite as bad now but, are still an issue at times and have recently begun a new hormone pill. It’s a BC pill as I am still of “childbearing age” LOL But, after reading the essential oils for menopause, I have become intrigued. Are they irritating to the skin for people who have sensitivities? I am a natural redhead with fair skin so that’s always a concern for me. Otherwise, I would consider trying it out. ESPECIALLY if it helps with hot flashes. One of THE main reasons for switching to a new BC pill. Thank you for any help and also for your authentic transparency. I have a great deal of respect for that and know that’s what God would want from us…to be honest, open and transparent. If nothing else, but to reach out to others that desperately need to hear that they’re not alone. 🙂

  4. Looking forward to sharing next week what oils work for you. I like your green blouse and realized I do not own one piece of clothing that is green. hmm? I wish I could wear the cute flats but I too need arch support. Love the jeans and went to look them up and they said they are out of stock :(. Will have to check in the store.

  5. I too love that green. It looks good on everyone I think too 😉 and I love an animal print any day of the week. Cute!

  6. I too am looking forward to your experience with essential oils!
I recently purchased a pair of leopard flats after seeing your outfits. I ususally wear heels so I’m having trouble getting used to flats. No support. Like the look but I need something under my foot. Maybe I need to try a different brand.

  7. This really is a fabulous green! Would love this with white for a crisp very Summer look as well. The leopard flats are great! Looking forward to your experience with the essential oils and which ones have worked in place of hormones. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, encouraging others is always best. My husband and I laugh at our current prediction of 3 kids in college as we had them 4 1/2 years apart and joked that they wouldn’t be in college at the same time… The joke is on us because we encouraged them to use their intelligence for good in the world and they are all going so with advance degrees…Look what encouragement can do!
