What I Wore-September 2014

Well ladies, September is almost behind us and I can’t believe how quickly it went! The next couple of months are going to be pretty busy around here.

Tomorrow starts my 31 days of fall fashion. I’m super excited but probably about mid way, I’ll wonder what I was thinking when I said I would do it! Ha!

Then there’s November, don’t forget I have a fun surprise coming in November. I think ya’ll are going to love it!

Before we say goodbye to September, here’s a quick look back at What I Wore.

What I Wore September 2014

I love this floral blouse I received in one of my Stitch Fix boxes. I’m a little afraid of the floral trend because I feel it can make women over 40 look a little “old lady” if we’re not careful. But this floral blouse was doable!

I had no idea that so many of you would dislike the camouflage pants. Woa! But here’s the thing, I like them. I’ve already worn them again and I styled them with a black sleeveless tank. My husband also likes them on me, so you might see them again. Don’t hate me.

What I Wore-September 2014

I purchased this dress from Loft and I thought I could wear it well into fall with boots and a black blazer or denim jacket.

What I Wore-September 2014

I mixed and matched prints here. Some of you liked it and some of you didn’t. I think it’s a fun look! I purchased my leopard print flats from Zappo’s.

What I Wore-September 2014

I brought out the ankle boots and kept this outfit simple with a white t-shirt and leopard print scarf.

On a cooler day adding my military jacket will be perfect. I also talked about How To Style A Military Jacket.

What I Wore-September 2014

I purchased this blouse and jeans from LOFT. Someone emailed me and said they had purchased the jeans and loved them. Yay!

What I Wore-September 2014

I recently got these burgundy cords in my Stitch Fix box and I love them! They’re Kut From the Kloth and you can find them here. My loafers I purchased at Old Navy.

What I Wore-September 2014

There you go, that’s what I wore in September! Are you ready for October?

Beauty For the Heart~~I read this scripture yesterday and I couldn’t get it out of my mind. It’s Psalm 34:5, Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.”

Wow! This is what I’m striving for. I want to look radiant not because of what I’m wearing but because of who I’m looking to. Jesus can make us shine!

Have a blessed day!

  1. I love all of your outfits! You always look great. I am having such a hard time going from the boot cut jeans that have been so popular to the skinny or straight jeans. They do look so much neater and put together but I can’t lie, I just can’t get used to them. Maybe I just need more shoes to go with them ( I live in sneakers/clogs).
I think you said you were a dental hygienist, do you wear scrubs? Do you dress them up with any jewelry?
Looking forward to your October pictures. Wish I could take you with me to the mall!

  2. I LOVE the camo pants! Bought myself a pair a while back and really like how they can be dressed up or down! Even got a compliment on them from a complete stranger wearing them out one day! HA! I’m seriously considering getting a pair of ankle boots. I’ve not liked them in the past…but they seem to be everywhere! And fairly versatile too. They look really cute in these outfits!

    1. OH! And I just got a purple pair of skinny jeans in my stitch fix! Can’t wait to pair them with my denim jacket and t-shirt!

  3. I bought some beige suede ankle boots at the end of season last year – love them but have been unsure what to do with them to get some use. I have worn with some ankle pants, but LOVE how they look with your jeans! Will be experimenting. Thank you <3
Also…florals….love them and I don't think it is the print that ages us but the way we wear it. Your look? ….younger than springtime and just as lovely =0)

  4. Hi Cindy,
you asked if there is anything we would like to see you style; I am seeing “coated” jeans everywhere and would like to see what you can do with them. They are certainly fashion forward, which helps us look more youthful, but I”m not sure how to make this trend work, maybe you can win me over?
    Blessings to you and yours,

  5. Like that dress and the camo jeans are super cute. They almost read as a neutral. I still have to pull out my shirt this year. I also love the military jacket and burgundy cords. BTW, I got some really cute Vera Wang jeans at Kohl’s. The fit is outstanding.

  6. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your blog. When I’m looking for something different to wear, I always come to your blog first. I’m usually able to take your ideas and mix and match them with my own. What a great feeling to walk in the door at work everyday to “good morning” & “I love what you’re wearing”! THANK YOU & GOD BLESS YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO, CYNDI!!

  7. I just bought your gray camo pants and I really like them. I have resisted this trend for a while, so I am shocked by how much I liked them. Hoping I will wear them a lot this fall. Love your blog.

  8. I so appreciate your willing to take the time to blog and share your ideas with us. You always look fabulous! I too have become a little bit more adventurous and bold with some of my outfits. I think what matters the most is if “you” (the person wearing the outfit) likes it and feels comfortable in it, then it shouldn’t matter what others think….bring on the camo pants! :). Looking forward to 31 days of fall!

  9. I love all the looks, and though I can’t imagine myself in some of them you look great! I have found I am becoming a bit more adventurous and I think your the reason (thanks.) That being said, I just broke my ankle really bad (as bad as you can get) and will be in a cast etc. for months and am so bummed, I am in a wheelchair and am stuck in yoga pants and one (easy to get on shoe…… ) no shopping, cute boots or any such thing……I will continue to admire from “afar”…… keep up the great work, I love your ideas!!!!

    1. I am so sorry about your ankle! But, maybe during this time you could do some fun online shopping and look for jewelry and scarves to take your mind and the attention away from your feet and legs. Just a thought! I pray you will heal quickly. God bless you.

  10. Thank you for sharing the fashion trends. It definitely gives me some ideas. I love the leopard print scarf and I sort of like the camo pants 🙂 Looking forward to what you will share for the month of October. Blessings to your day!

  11. You look great in all your outfits! I absolutely love Loft Modern Skinny Ankle jeans. I’m not into the camo trend, but you look fabulous in those pants. I wear solid army green pants instead. 🙂
