What I Wore-Fashion Over 40

Happy hump day! It’s What I Wore-Fashion Over 40 and today I’m styling a puffy vest.

I purchased this plaid shirt from LOFT and I’ll be honest, I like it, but I don’t think pink is my color. Good to know!! I’ve struggled with styling it.

What I Wore-Fashion Over 40

I finally styled it with a black puffy vest from Gap and I like it.

Beauty For the Heart~~God has been nudging me lately to make sure I’m nurturing my friendships. Both my online friends and my real life friends.

Friendship is a gift and it takes time to build strong friendships. But as women, we need them. We don’t need to be so busy in our daily lives that we neglect spending time with other women.

So this week take some time to call a friend, have lunch or send a note. You’ll be blessed!

Friendship can weather most things and thrive in thin soil-but it needs a little mulch of letters and phone calls and small silly presents every so often-just to save it from drying out completely. -Pam Brown

Have a blessed day!

  1. I wish the Gap still had the vest with that hood, the link only shows a hood with fur. I already own a winter coat with fur around the hood. I’m still looking for ways to wear my plaid shirts without looking too country. Your style looks great.

  2. Well you may not like pink, but it works well for you… Have you tried layering it under a sweater or sweatshirt with just the collar and hem peeking out… Sometimes a little goes a long way… I am still on the hunt for a plaid shirt that feels right for me.. so far no luck…

  3. You look adorable in the pic! Love the boots! I was hesitant to buy Target boots. Yours looks good…will check them out. Thanks!

Could you repost the link for the new basics challenge you are doing. I don’t have the email any more. Thanks so much! Blessings : )

  4. I have a Baby Shower this weekend so I would love to know what you wore to yours! I can’t decide whether to wear a dress and boots or a colored cords and sweater and scarf type combo…..sniff sniff on the adorable boy stuff on chalkboard…we don’t know what we’re having. It will be a surprise….can’t wait to hold and smell my first grandchild in just a short while!

  5. I love your post about nurturing friendships. I’m guilty of letting too much time go by between seeing some of my best friends. I love your outfit and I think you’re the only person who I’ve ever seen who looks good in a puffy vest:) One question – my daughter-in-law wants a plaid flannel shirt for Christmas but she wants to be sure it’s fitted/tailored at the waist. Is your shirt from the Loft fitted?

    1. It’s not flannel, and so I don’t think she would like it. I ordered it online and thought it was flannel, but no.
      Hope that helps,
      Cyndi

  6. what is pink ? I guess it is my laptop. I will have to look at this on the big flatscreen with the desk top to see what I am missing. like the outfit anyway. except with my size I will be passing on the boots.

  7. You do indeed look good in pink! And I wish this was my problem…..but are those jeans too big in the tummy area? I don’t think they fit you right, but it might just be my opinion? 😉

    1. Cindi, you look pretty in pink and look darling in this outfit. I was thinking about you this morning knowing you have another funeral to attend today. Praying for the family and for you!
I love your message today about friends. When I moved to Oklahoma 25 years ago I never thought I would find the friends that I had in TN. I am so grateful to have found wonderful godly women who truly make me a better person just being my friend. It does take time and effort these days to find time even for a quick lunch but I need that hour or so “lift” from my girls. I am a card person so if I go too long without seeing my buddies, I put a card in the mail to let them know I’m thinking about them. I never want to be too busy for my friends that I consider an extension of my family.
I am truly blessed to have been led to your blog Cindi and consider you a dear friend too!
