Skin Care For Women Over 40

Let’s just admit at this stage of the game, our skin care regimen has to be good. We’re well past our 20’s where you can play around with some skin care products, right?

Over the last few years I’ve been paying close attention to what goes on my skin. I try to use products that don’t have a lot of chemicals in them, which over time can actually hurt your skin. Who knew?

Since several people have asked what I’m using right now, I thought I’d share my products with you.

Several months ago a company contacted me about trying LARA beauty products. I did use the products and they were really good but by far, the product I fell in love with is the polishing microderm abrasion. This stuff is amazing!! Your skin feels so soft after using it.

This fragrance-free home spa treatment, rich in Vitamins A, E and F, gently exfoliates worn and damaged skin to clear pores, remove blackheads, and help prevent acne.

The best thing is a jar of the microderm abrasion is only $24! And right now through December 31st you can get 10% off using the coupon code MD10. Yes, I will be ordering this!

Next, I’ve been trying Key West Retinal Cream. This retinol night cream is an advanced formula with 97% natural and 71% organic ingredients, unlike most retinol creams that contain heavy amounts of synthetic ingredients and fillers.

At a strength of 2.5%, it contains 2 1/2 times the amount of retinol as the standard 1% strength found in most retinol creams and is the strongest percentage available without a prescription.

You can buy the Key West Retinal Cream on Amazon for $38 (regular $79.99). It has great reviews on Amazon!

The one product that I’m using that isn’t organic is Bobbi Brown advanced eye cream. I really like this eye cream! I do have some organic products I’m going to try when I run out of this.

Lastly, I use Young Living’s ART Skin Care System. This Skin Care System utilizes the advanced anti-aging technologies of DNA recovery to help skin look and feel softer, cleaner, and younger.

I’m also using a foaming face wash from Young Living but forgot to put it in the picture. To learn more about Young Living you can go here.

There you go, that’s what I’m using. Have you found a skin care product you love and can’t live with out?? Let us know!

***I was given LARA Beauty Products and Key West Retinal to try and as always I’m giving my honest opinion.

  1. The retinol crème I get at the derm’s office is the strongest & it is 1.0. Be very careful if you try the higher strength stuff because you can get burned. I burned my face once with the Neutrogena retinol crème that was super concentrated & it took awhile to heal. My dermatologist keeps you on the low strength for 3 months, then moves to medium for 3 months, then the highest. Just be careful if you chose to do it on your own.

  2. Do you mind if I quote a few of your articles as long as I provide credit and sources back to your webpage?
My blog site is in the exact same area of interest as yours and my users would really
benefit from some of the information you present
here. Please let me know if this okay with you.
    Thank you!

  3. Hi Cyndi, I am so happy today, I recently had to buy a new computer an going thru the process I lost your blog.( very sad) you were new to me at the time an I couldn’t remember the blogs name. I have been searching everything everywhere lol. well today I found you( woo hoo) thru Love of family and home blog praise the Lord… I’m so happy love your blog thank you for it. Marian

  4. I also use the art skin are from young living and love it. But also discovered a line called olivu’ that is all natural and much more affordable. Also going to try Younique, it is all natural and gluten free someone told me.
    Really love following your blog.

  5. I love Paula’s Choice skin care products. My skin hasn’t looked so good in a long time. I’ve been so impressed that this skin care/makeup junkie hasn’t even been tempted by another line of skin care! 🙂

Her Earth Sourced line is derived from natural ingredients and I have been really happy with those products.

  6. I’m trying to be very careful too but with a new perspective on things. I’ve always been pretty good about washing/moisturizing/anti wrinkle care/sunscreen. But a few weeks ago I finally gave in and went to the dermatologist about a little red spot on my chest that never would go away. It’s not terrible horrible but I have basal cell in one spot and squamous cell cancer in another spot. Makes me have a whole new respect for sunscreen!

  7. Cyndi, I too am being careful with what I am putting on my skin. I recently purchased Suzanne Somers line of organic skin care and make-up products. There is not one speck of a chemical in any of her products and all plant based. I love the face wash, toner and moisturizer but the foundation and concealer leave a lot to be desired. Do you use foundation and if so, will you share what brand and how you like it?
