What To Wear On A Holiday Date Night

Welcome to our 12 Days of Holiday Outfits! Today it’s What To Wear On A Holiday Date Night.

I’m partnering with Kristin from BonBon Rose Girls and Jo-Lynne from Jo-Lynne Shane to bring you 12 days of posts about what to wear for EVERY event this holiday season.

12 Days Of Holiday Outfits and More!
Well this is a fun post. I love date nights and I love to dress up!

I think it’s good to know what your husband likes when you think about what to wear. I know Wayne likes heels better than flats so I will usually wear heels when we go out.

Here’s an outfit I have and plan to wear to the dinner theatre we’re going to be attending in a few weeks.

I tried this on for Wayne and it was a hit. 🙂

I saw this outfit on Pinterest and loved it. It’s a little more casual but would be fun to wear for a holiday date night.

Of course you can’t go wrong with dresses. I purchased both of these a few years ago at Marshall’s. I love dresses!

Beauty for the Heart~~Years ago, Wayne and I read the book, The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. I highly recommend this book to married couples.

We each have a love language and we share our love language with our spouse. But if that’s not their love language they’re aren’t feeling loved.

Wayne’s love language is words of affirmation. You would know that very quickly if you were around him. He tells me he loves me and how beautiful he thinks I am all day long. But that’s not my love language.

My love language is acts of service. So when he empties the dishwasher or folds the laundry I feel loved! And when I tell him I love him and he’s an amazing husband and father, he feels loved.

Anyway, marriage is not easy and we have worked hard to have a good one but it’s worth it!!

Do something extra special for your spouse today. Let them know you love them!!!

Have a blessed day!

  1. We did the love languages and it changed our marriage for the better, turns out my husband and I are polar opposites in love languages! Understanding what fills each other’s tanks helped us to be better spouses! Quality time girl here with a physical touch man 🙂 As far as date night, I like a little (not a lot) of sparkle and shine! I love a little dressy tank, dark skinnies or straights, my go to dressy black cardi and my all time favorite peep to patented black leather platforms. Florida girl, can go a little lighter with the clothes, but need to maintain the pedi year round, no hardship!

  2. great outfits. the love languages really are nice to know. through the years my hsbs has made some markedly dramatic changes. Interesting to see when the language makes a change. right now the “round 2 it” is really speaking to me.

  3. Date nights…….haven’t had a date night in about 5 1/2 years. The thought of planning an outfit for a date night does sound like fun though! You look super cute, as always. 🙂

  4. Cute outfits! Our date nights usually consist of going to the grocery store. 🙂 My husband isn’t too much into fashion and doesn’t notice nor care what I wear. I’m the one (our daughters as well) who pick out his clothes/outfits.

  5. Cyndi, we also read that book yrs ago as part of a Bible study and loved it! We have the same “love language”. My love language is acts of service and my husband’s is words of affirmation. Yesterday when I wasn’t feeling well, he went to the store to get some OTC cold medicine for me. When he returned, he said “I was trying to speak your love language today by taking care of you and getting you what you needed.” It meant the world to me!

  6. Beautiful, as always, Cyndi. My daughter saw this today and she asked me, “Is dressing nice every day and looking fantastic her job?” 🙂 Thought that might make you smile. I assured her you are a very busy lady.

  7. Darling outfits Cindi! We do a variety of things for date nights so how I dress depends on where we’re going. Sometimes it’s dress up, other times very casual but always comfort because I want to be free to enjoy our time together! This year for our Christmas stockings, my husband and I decided we’d fill each other’s stocking with date night gifts! I saw the idea on Pinterest but can’t remember who posted it so I’m unable to give credit to the Blogger or website. My daughter and her husband are filling their stockings with date night gifts as well!

  8. You do look great in leopard print! The thing I love about your blouse vs Macy’s is the zipper! Adds an extra nice touch!

  9. Love your outfits and blog. Would really love if you would put your CLICK HERE LINK back on top so we don’t have to scroll all the way down!

  10. LOL! I just bought that cranberry sweater last night when I saw it on pinterest. I was hoping for that cozy gray sweater to appear in my stitch fix box but it didn’t great outfit! Though I think my husband thinks I am becoming a little leopard crazy…LOL!

  11. Love you in the leopard!! I used to own a leopard blouse but gave it away, thinking it looked too old on me, I think it was the style of blouse…. this one is cute and feminine and very chic!
Going to get a New Hairstyle this week…. love your hair! 🙂 I need a change.

  12. Date nights???? What are those hee hee
When my hubby and I get to go out together, it is usually casual, not formal. We got to spend a night in Lexington(spur of the moment decision) by ourselves and went out to dinner on Sir Barton Way, but of course it was not planned and so it also was not dress-up. Did some shopping afterwards, then back to hotel. My hubby being a preacher is in a suit and dresses up most of the time so we are more casual when we are together and alone. My casual when going out is about the same as your pictures posted in slacks or jeans, nice blouse and bling etc… Love your style!!

    1. Date night? What a concept, would love to try it w/ my hubby but getting him into anything but jeans is a challenge. When I ask him what he thinks of something I’m wearing he shruggs and says it’s your butt (jeans), boobs (top), or head (hair style)!!! So frustrating. You’ve so lucky to have a husband who cares & encourages your love of fashion.
