I Need A Silent Night

Every December I begin the month wanting to prepare. Not for the get-togethers with family and friends, or for all the baking or gift wrapping, but I want to prepare my heart.

I Need A Silent Night

I don’t want to get caught up in all the hustle and bustle and miss the most important part of this holy season.

The world is trying hard to make us forget. To not let us celebrate His birth. But for me, it’s about Jesus’ birth. Scripture says,

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this. Isaiah 9:6-7

Today, slow down and soak up the gift of Christmas. A baby born to save the world. Maybe you need a Silent Night.

Have a blessed Sunday!

  1. Cyndi, I love your page. You not only inspire me to look presentable, but you encourage me in my faith and to stay focused on what truly matters. Thank you for your witness.

  2. Love that song! Great thoughts. It is too easy to get caught up in the craziness but we should know better because we know the King whose birth we are celebrating.

  3. Tears in Texas! Thank you for this – it’s exactly how I’ve been feeling and unable to express. I wish you the time to savor the Saviour’s birth – all any of us really need for Christmas!

  4. Thank you for sharing today’s inspiration. I’m recuperating from shoulder surgery so my Holiday to do list has been intentionally shortened. As we await His arrival, I am so blessed to have family and friends who are taking time out of their busy preparations to care for me and my family. While commercialization seems to be the big story of the season, if we wait, watch and listen we will once again be able to appreciate the arrival of the precious Prince of Peace. God bless you for this ministry.

  5. So beautiful. So true! It’s so sad what is happening in this world. It must grieve our Lord 🙁 however, we do know He will be victorious in the end….praise God!! So grateful for our Savior, so grateful for eternal life, so grateful to call HIM daddy! God bless you Cyndi 😉 thx for always speaking truth on your blog 😉
