Fashion For Women Over 40

Happy Hump Day! It’s Fashion For Women Over 40 and today I’m styling my checkered gray top from Banana Republic and a cozy blue scarf from Gap.

I like to add a pop of color with a scarf and since it’s cold outside a scarf helps keep me warm.

Thanks for all your comments yesterday on my How To Set A Clothing Budget! It seems we all struggle a little in that area.

February Special 2015
Essential oils are a part of my overall healthy living that I started a couple of years ago. They help balance my hormones and so much more!

Have you noticed how you are hearing more and more about clean eating/organic foods and essential oils? It’s because for years we’ve been eating foods (processed) that are hurting our bodies and taking medications with a lot of side effects.

I love that we now have healthier options! Go here if you would like to start your healthy journey today!

Beauty For the Heart~~I don’t have it all together when it comes to exercising and clean eating. I’m still learning!  What I am trying to do is take steps to live a healthier lifestyle.

I love how scripture talks about our bodies. I think God does care how we take care of them. It’s not about being skinny, it’s about being healthy.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Have a blessed day!

  1. Yes! This is what I was talking about – Super pulled together.. not over done…PERFECT for running those dreaded weekend errands!! LOVE!!!

  2. Cyndi, I love your casual, but chic outfit today! Adding a pop of color really brings life to any neutral colored attire, whether it’s adding a scarf, jewelry or shoes! I’m really considering a pair of sneakers after seeing how cute yours are. I like this style better than the lace up ones. Rhoda @ Southern Hospitality is sporting a leopard print pair with one of her outfits today.
I think you would look beautiful any way you styled your hair. Seeing it behind your ears really opens up your face. Have you ever thought of going shorter?!
Thank you for another fashion forward post!!

      1. You can try it, it’s so easy to cut it again if you end up not liking it. You can even add some extensions if you want more fullness once you grow it out. I have short hair now, but when mine was longer I sometimes added extensions on certain occasions when I wore it down, to get a fuller look. Good luck! (Btw, I first discovered your blog on Pinterest while looking at shorter hairstyles before I went short, and I am so glad I found you! )

  3. Hi
Can you do a post/tutorial on styling a scarf with a collared/button down shirt? I cannot figure out how to style it properly, the collar always gets in the way.
    Thanks for keeping us stylish.

  4. Could you please post a pic of the back of you with the half tuck or give some instructions? I just can’t seem to make it look right. Thanks!

  5. Love the outfit. I received my first stitch fix box today and am so excited. I was struggling with that I am 41, but these clothes look old or way to young. Seeing your styles I had to try stitch fix out.
I like what I see in box know to see the items on

  6. I just got a shirt like that from the Bass outlet a few weeks ago. I haven’t worn it yet, but I think it will be a great transition piece for winter into spring. I love that it’s a neutral, but also a pattern. I tried on shoes like that at the GAP outlet, but they only had whole sizes and I’m a very definite 7-1/2, so the 7 was too small and the 8 was too big. 🙁

  7. Cyndi: Love your hump day outfit! I really like to wear gray as a fashion neutral, so I like your sample gray outfit. Also, like your hair tucked behind your hair for a sweet casual look…so adorable on you!
Thanks for reminding me that God wants us to keep our bodies healthy, and that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes :)…have a blessed day.

  8. Hi Cyndi,
I was wondering what rise you typically wear in your jeans, i.e. low, mid, or high?
And is a typical size for you a 6 or an 8? I noticed in a recent post that you had
purchased a 4 petite, I think. Was that simply because the brand runs big or have
you lost weight? Lots of questions, I know. I do love your style. I just want to equate
our body shapes before buying something that just won’t work as well on me.
Any input you are willing to share is appreciated. Thanks much

    1. Hi Camille,
I usually wear a mid rise jean. I think a size 6 is my size but every once in a while I wear an 8. I would wear an 8 at Old Navy.
      J.Jill runs big! I never wear a size 4.
      I hope that helps!!
      Cyndi

  9. I agree with the others. Cute, casual outfit for “hump” day. I too found you by chance on Pinterest –or maybe it wasn’t “chance” 🙂 searching for outfits for women over 40. Found the outfits and so much more! Your post is truly a blessing in my life.

  10. Your hair if different. I like it. Cute comfy outfit. I love that your outfits are “real” and not high fashion. Outfits we can use in our day to day life. Love your beauty for the heart.

  11. I just want to tell you how thankful I am for finding your web page. I look forward to the daily emails and all of the information that you share. I found you first on Pinterest as I was searching for fashion over forty. God bless you as you encourage women to look at themselves positively and remind us that it is o.k. to take care of ourselves while we take care of others. That is something a lot of women feel guilty about I think. I love your style and your heart.
