  1. I found a shirtdress at Old Navy, that I love. I wouldn’t have even tried it on if I hadn’t subscribed to your blog! The length is perfect and with sandals and a jean jacket for those cooler evenings, it’ll be perfect. H&M also had a military styled dress in khaki, very cute but not available in my size yesterday. Thanks for all your tips and spiritual support!

  2. I bought the Target shirt dress last week. I was not crazy about the short in front and long in back. Easy fix – I took it to my local cleaners and had them even it up all around. Love it now!

  3. I just really don’t care for them. You look cute in the sleeveless dress though.
    Thanks for sharing 🙂

  4. I’ve been following your blog for just over a year now. I actually found you when I was searching for what to wear to my daughter’s wedding and I googled a question about pantyhose haha. I appreciate the time you put into showing us women over 40 how to dress with style without trying to look 20 and also reminding us that our true beauty is within by encouraging us with scripture. Thank you for always posting items from various price points so even those of us on a tight budget can still dress in the latest styles 🙂 Most of all, thank you for doing all of this for us free of charge! What a treasure you are!!

    1. I don’t care for the longer in back look either especially when it is so extreme. I think it is easier to do on maxi’s. I love the shirtdresses and look forward to finding one for spring. I think a gingham shirtdress would be perfect!

  5. My daughters high school graduation is coming up in May. It just doesn’t look dressy enough for that type of event, but maybe for the after party? I just don’t think they are cute. Probably because I’m 47 and don’t know style. Thats why Cyndi helps me. Lol

  6. Hi All! I remember seeing an olive colored shirtdress at Dress Barn last year. Went to their website and found it on sale, it would be for fall. BUT, they have 2 spring styles available, one in a solid, the other a print. In regular Misses, it’s red; but, they have it in a plus size as well, in a beautiful color called Pistachio! I’m 5’4″ and go between a 14 or 16. With Dress Barn, they carry women’s sizes as well, so if something is a little snug in that tummy area

  7. I love shirt dresses:) I bought one from Target a few weeks ago. It has the hi-low hem and came with a skinny belt. I paired it with tights, boots and a scarf. I like the one youre wearing from Macy’s! Looking forward to your spring fashions!

  8. So excited about your 28 Days of Spring Fashion! I’d love to be able to wear a shirt dress, but don’t have the figure for it. YET! I turn the big 6-0 the middle of March & am so thankful you’re providing me the fashion inspiration. I have a few goals & your blog is providing me with many of the tools I need, both spiritually & fashion wise! So thank you Cindi!

  9. I’m so excited to hear that the shirtdress is a new trend for spring! I love the Gap one best. The orange Nordstrom dress reminds me of a prison uniform or something. LOL

    1. I’m with you on both counts! I like all the Nordstrom dresses the least. I can’t wait to ear an ancient short-sleeved RL demin one I’ve been hanging onto.

  10. Love the shirtdress, except they are so short. I am tired of wearing leggings with short tops!!!!
Keep my eyes open for longer ones.

  11. I love the look of a shirt dress – on other people! I am an apple – so none of those belted waistlines are flattering on me! Maybe a drop-waist with more of a blouson look? Help!

      1. I bought one but will either tie the belt loosely in the back or take it off. As long as the dress isn’t too loose, it looks fine. Me and belts have never gotten along!

  12. I am afraid that you will only be wearing the adorable shirt dress from last spring with a turtleneck! It will be tricky to find one that works with my pear shape. The blue one from Nordstroms might work? With 6 or 7 fresh inches of snow today, I hope by May you can wear this sleeveless dress!

  13. Shirt dresses will forever make me smile and think of my grandmother. That’s all I ever saw her wear. She had them in every pastel color, and when they faded she would use RIT dye and make them a darker shade. They always had short, roll-up sleeves, and she had a lace handkerchief she kept in one of the sleeves at all times. They had fabric belts and full skirts. In cold weather, she wore a sweater over them. She was tiny (5′ and 85 lbs.). Too bad I didn’t inherit her small size! Thanks for the memories this cold morning! !

  14. I’m not sure about the shirt dress look. Some look ok but to me they don’t look as feminine as I like… Just depends on personal taste/style. I do like the blue dress you posted from Nordstrom but I don’t really see it as a shirt dress!!

  15. Looking forward to your spring fashions. With the amount of snow we have and yet another storm coming tomorrow I will stay inside and dream of spring 🙂
    Have a nice weekend Cyndi

    1. It feels like I will only be dreaming of spring here too with all this snow! … Soon it will all melt and we’ll be wearing flip-flops!

      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  16. I believe it’s going to make me awhile to warm up to the shirtdress trend! Like you say, we don’t have to like or wear every trend that comes around! Hee, Hee 🙂

  17. I have my stitchfix coming in March so I think I will ask them to find a shirt dress for my box. If you haven’t already tried stitchfix it is fun. Sometimes they come up with something you never would have thought to try.

  18. Too funny, just bought one last night at Target’s going-out-of-business sale (they are pulling out of Canada) 🙁 🙁 What will we do?
It’s like the JCPenny one but 20% off!
Thought I would style it for now with a long gray cardi and gravy tights with a brown leather belt & boots, as we are no where close to spring here yet.
<3 your blog, Cyndi-always a highlight of my day 🙂
