Palm Sunday

Today, Palm Sunday, marks the beginning of of Holy Week. It starts with Jesus riding a donkey into Jerusalem, where a hero’s welcome awaits him.

Palm Sunday
The streets are lined with people waving palm branches and singing. They’re ready for him to be their King—but Jesus’ purpose is far more significant than gaining political status and power.

Today they sing His praises but we all know what this is leading up to. A week that will forever change our world, and our hearts.

Take some time today to read the four Gospel accounts of the Triumphal Entry and try to imagine what it would have been like to be standing and singing in that crowd:

This is a newer song by Colton Dixon. When I heard it, I thought how true it was of my life, and I’m guessing it could be true of your life too.

Have a blessed Palm Sunday!

  1. I love Palm Sunday, with all the children parading through with their palm leaves. I love the anticipation of Easter. However, as I have grown in my walk, I find Maundy Thursday and Good Friday very emotional. To know what our Lord went though for us even though He was innocent! To know how He was betrayed by those closest to Him! All I can do is take deep breaths, pray and count to three.

  2. You have a wonderful and blessed. Palm Sunday as well, Cyndi! I remember thinking as a little girl, that I was glad that Jesus had such a happy day, even though He knew what was waiting ahead for him, and how that would so completely change from adoration to hate and death. I remember as my Grandfather would give the message on Palm Sunday, (he was a pastor too) while the people were happy and cheering, what must have been going on behind the scenes, and what must have been going through Jesus’s mind, but He went ahead with it, because of His amazing and undying love for us!! So powerful!!

  3. forgot to note how much I appreciate the way your ads are so nicely arranged. a couple of other blogs are so unattractively and obstrusively placed, one cannot even properly read their information. another example of your classiness. thank you

  4. except for knowing that everything was in His Plan I was always puzzled how things could turn so badly in just a week’s time. following what is happening in that part of the world and seeing that time seems to be on an escalated level gives quite a new perspective of how the crowds can change so rapidly. hanks for the Scripture links. Due to vision challenges, that is the site I do my reading from. it is so easy to enlarge. God blessings

  5. Just returned home from church. Palm Sunday is always an emotional time for me as I envision Jesus Triumphant Entry. Our worship service was so moving and beautiful this morning as all of the Sunday School children as well as all of the adults were singing and waving pam branches. It really made me think of how it must have been to be standing in the crowd as Jesus made His Triumphant Entry. Thank you Jesus for saving my soul, thank you Jesus for making me whole.

  6. Cyndi, thank you so much for reminding me of the meaning of this week and for the song. I really needed to hear everything you posted:)

  7. Wishing you a week of remembrance of our Lord and Savior and what He did for us, shedding His blood that we could live forever in Heaven with Him!!
God Bless YOU Cyndi, and your family this week and throughout the year! Love your blog of styles and outfits and looking forward to seeing more of them… You are an inspiration to sooo many, keep up the good work!!
Love your styles and consider you a dear sister in the Lord!!
I found Harrodsburg, KY on the map and we passed by there sooo close on our way to Russel Springs… I believe you are just North on 127 from Russel Springs!! We enjoyed our weekend stay and if I had known you were so close I might have ventured up to see your little town of Harrodsburg too! I love traveling in KY. Have a great week and an awesome Easter!! 🙂

  8. Cyndi, thank you for blessing me this morning. I stayed home from church due to allergies. What a beautiful song with beautiful words!!

  9. As part of a bible study I do, I realized a few years ago that as Jesus entered the city his followers felt so triumphant. They did not realize he would give his life to save us, they thought he would reign in this world too. Imagine the despair when he was crucified, they thought his whole ministry was over! To delve into the thoughts/expectations of that time can give a new dimension to the gospels. Wishing a blessed Holy Week to all.

  10. I signed up for your blog to view the fashions-which are great-but what I’m finding most rewarding are your messages about Jesus! I think I really need that daily reminder along with the beautiful clothes!! Thank you and have a blessed Easter!!

  11. Cindi, thank you so much for your message I just received. I’m looking forward to reading all your referenced verses this afternoon after I return from church. Our church hasn’t had a Pastor in over 2 years, but the bright spot is that we’ve had the joy of hearing so many wonderful different Pastors, the Lord has sent our way. And the one scheduled to speak today is truly exceptional, so we are looking forward to a Palm Sunday inspirational message. Blessings to you & your wonderful family!
