My Week in Pictures From #rsthecon

Well, I’m still recovering from traveling last week! We had an amazing time but it feels good to be home.

I’m so bad about taking pictures. I know, you would think as a blogger I would be better. I’m enjoying myself so much that I forget to take pictures.

Here are some I did capture from this past week. Wayne and I stopped for a couple of days in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Oh my, I loved this area! We stayed at Lookout Point Lakeside Inn and I highly recommend it. We want to go back soon.

This was the view from our room. Breathtaking!

Fresh flowers were everywhere!

And the food was delicious! You could eat in the dining area or they would deliver breakfast in bed. We chose breakfast in bed. 🙂

Next stop was Dallas, Texas! We stayed in The Joule in downtown Dallas. Very trendy and they definitely spoil you.

This was the view from our room. The eyeball is artwork for the area. Hmmm.

Wayne and I took a stroll around downtown. I asked if he would try to start taking some of my pictures. I’m not sure how this is going to work out. He doesn’t have a love for photography but he does love me. Ha!

The Rewardstyle conference (#rsthecon) was so good! I learned a lot and can’t wait to start implementing some of the ideas they gave me.

The social media platform they feel is the place to share and is most popular right now is Instagram. It’s definitely my favorite one!

They gave us a lot of “swag” (free stuff). One of the items was a selfie stick. I was cracking myself up trying to get a picture and this is one of the pics I captured. I’m going to need some practice!

It was a little intimidating with all the fashion bloggers that were there. If I had to pick a theme, it would be “young!” Goodness, there were a lot of twenty something bloggers which makes me wonder what I’m doing????

Thankfully, I met these wonderful ladies! I would have been lost without them!

The last night we had a party at the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. The best part for me was the view!

I love this picture of the Dallas skyline and the Texas flag.

I’m ready to get going for the rest of the year! I think it’s going to be fun!

I picked out some great Mother’s Day gifts. You might want to check it out and share with your husband and kids. 🙂

I’m so honored that you have taken time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’d love for you to subscribe to my blog through email. You can also follow me on social media. I’m on FacebookInstagram and Pinterest!

Beauty For the Heart~~You’re cheating on God. If all you want is your own way, flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and his way. And do you suppose God doesn’t care? The proverb has it that “he’s a fiercely jealous lover.” And what he gives in love is far better than anything else you’ll find. It’s common knowledge that “God goes against the willful proud; God gives grace to the willing humble.” James 4:4-6 (The Message)

Have a blessed day!

  1. Enjoy your everything! Changing my whole style and look at style. Wondering what my husband really is thinking?

  2. hi I’m 29 and I love your young, vibrant and elegant style… I’ve gotten a lot of inspiration from you. Now if only I could afford them.. Lol

  3. Hi Cyndi,
Honey, those 20 something bloggers don’t have anything over on YOU… What I saw in every pic was sophistication, elegance, and refined beauty! You, my dear, were the best dressed out of them all, and held your poise as a fine lady of business with a little grin of fun too!! Loved you in all of your outfits. Your hubby did a great job with photographing you… and I love the tree you’re standing by, but the rest of your background was not very photogenic. LOL You’ll have to teach him to look at the surroundings and pick a beautiful background for such a beautiful lady!!

  4. Cindy-
So glad you enjoyed your conference in Dallas, however the flag flying in the background is the Texas Flag! ? Looking forward to future posts!

  5. Love the watermelon dress! I may have to track that one down and try it on. I love that the JCPenney website lets you see if they have your size in stock near you. Then you just have to find it in the store… The exposed back zipper is a nice touch.

  6. I love your blog! I am following you from here down under in New Zealand, the land of the long white cloud, the land of New Zeal !!! God is so good bringing his gals together from all over the world to share, be inspired and to keep in touch through media, which I believe God Himself invented for His purpose. I look forward to your daily posts. They are very fashion informative, uplifting and encouraging! Thank you Cyndi !

    1. Wow Cheryl! It’s amazing how connected we can be when we live so far from each other.
What a blessing! Thank you for stopping by from New Zealand.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  7. Cyndi, you are inspiring a different set of women! Don’t give up. I love your blog. I’m not a lover if Instagram, and I think that does cater more to 20 something’s. I think I have an account….hahaha. Amy

    1. Thank you Amy!! I agree it does appeal to a lot of twenty somethings but once you start using it, you get use to it and I love being able to look at so many great pictures.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  8. Cyndi,
Never wonder what you are doing because the plain and simple fact is that you are inspiring those of us over 40 to live a full life filled with the blessings from God.

Now, here’s a thought . . . what if those 40 plus bloggers gathered together for our own conference. I’d love to get a few people who like the idea together to start brainstorming what’s possible. Could be fun!

  9. Cyndi, as a 49 year old, I’m soooo thankful for your fashion blog. I can’t wear what 20 somethings wear, so I deeply appreciate you helping us 40 somethings look stylish in today’s trends without looking like we’re still trying to be 20 something. Blessings to you and THANK YOU!

  10. You’re such a cutie, Cyndi! I’m sure those young women were thinking, “Wow, that woman is so beautiful–she just glows!” It’s true, you do glow–from the inside out. 🙂

Glad Wayne got to make the trip with you! FUN!

  11. I’m sure all of us who hail from the Lone Star State thought our state flag was iconic, but apparently notsomuch (haha)!

Cyndi, it is so clear to us who read your blog that you are doing what you set out to do: help those of us over 40 (and I’m way over) walk in both grace and beauty. and not only are you doing it, you’re doing it very well. I’m sure those young bloggers got way more from you last week than you did from them.

As to the Instagram thing, I have an account but I never look at it. I do everything on my iPhone and it just seems unwieldy to me. (And Pinterest is near to impossible.). Am I missing something? Is it easier on iPads or laptops? If everyone is going to leave blogs and Facebook for IG, I don’t want to be left behind.

Keep doing what you do, in whatever form you choose.

    1. No I’m definitely not leaving my blog! This is what I own and this is where I write my content.
They were just saying Instagram is a great social media tool.
I look at IG on my iphone and it works great. It should work for you too!
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  12. I’m glad you had a good time. Even happier that you will be sharing what you have learned with all of us!
    Have a great day

  13. Great pictures, Cyndi! Looks like you had a fabulous trip. Thank you, for representing us ladies over 40! Can’t wait for you to start sharing all the great ideas with us!!

  14. We definitely need you to keep blogging, Cyndi! God has given you a special gift in reaching out and touching hearts. And, we get to learn about fashion trends, too! I always make time in my busy workday to read your blog. You are beautiful, both inside and out!

    1. …ooops…..Posted in wrong spot…I meant I totally agree…I think you gals all look great, but you are the classiest lady out of the bunch!!!

  15. In no way should you ask yourself whT you’re doing there. I think you actually were the most classy lady in the red dress. You are always so well put together.

  16. You do what you do for you have a voice & purpose from God. I agree with all the comments above in that you are an excellent role model. You also provide a wonderful place for us that want to be fashionable but find it a challenge based on offerings at stores. I get compliments all the time & many tell me I look younger than my 53 years. I know it is because I read your blog to find appropriate but cute fashion. But you also attend to out souls & spirit. I could read many fashion blogs but I chose you for I know where your heart is! You keep me on track! Thank you!

  17. Everyone in the 40+ age group is SO glad you were there and doing what you do! I have always loved clothes and you help me so much in knowing what is “appropriate” for my age. Not quite ready for my grandma’s “dusters” yet! God Bless?

  18. Cyndi, I Iove your blog too. It has made a difference in my day on many occasions. Glad to see there are others in my age group who still want to look great and stylish at any age. My mother is 87 and in assisted living and when I visit her. people always say, “your mom is always so perfectly put together, hair, makeup and jewelry every day even if she’s just playing bingo! I love that she’s still so full of life!

  19. Thanks for being an “over 40” blogger!! I am actually 60 but I love your blog and have gotten some really good ideas. While I enjoy being a grandmother, I don’t want to look like an “old granny”. I want to be stylish but not silly looking. Thanks for your help!

  20. Us “older” gals (I’m 51) care about fashion and staying current too so I’m glad you went to the conference. There are not a lot of bloggers that are geared towards women over 40! I read your blog faithfully every day and you’ve inspired many outfits I’ve purchased. Keep up the great work!
