26 Days of Summer Fashion (Day 18)

It’s Day 18 of my 26 Days of Summer Fashion and I’m styling this comfortable halter top that’s perfect for hot summer days.

You can’t go wrong with black and white for summer. I’m wearing a pair of white ankle pants. But this top would be cute with white jeans or white shorts.

I love the scalloped detail on the bottom.

A style tip: You could wear black heels or sandals but if you want to elongate your legs, a neutral heel or flat works much better.

I hope you all had a wonderful Father’s Day! I’m always mindful that these holidays are not happy for everyone. Since losing my Mom, Mother’s Day is not easy for me.

I’m thankful I have my Daddy and believe me I cherish every moment we get to spend together. Our whole family got together after church for lunch.

What you need to know about my family is, there are quite a few of us and we are all talkers. It gets loud when we’re all together!

I made all the grandkids take a picture with Papa. (My niece, Kinsey,  was the only one not there, she had gone to Pigeon Forge with a friend and her family).

This was not an easy task when you have 7 boy grandchildren, they were not thrilled about getting a picture but this how it went down.

My son in the yellow shirt didn’t understand why were getting a picture since Kinsey wasn’t there.

Okay, we’re starting to get them all together. None of them are happy with me.

No one is cooperating except my daughter. She is smiling and looking at the camera.

family
Okay, one boy left and I realized we’ve been missing Jonathan, my sister’s oldest son. They are completely ignoring me.

Let’s try this again! I think my Daddy is telling the boys to straighten up. Jonathan joined us but he doesn’t look very excited.

Now Courtney is taking charge and getting them to line up right. How long does it take to get one picture??

family
Finally!! They’re all together and they’re looking at the camera. One of these days they will appreciate this picture. 🙂

  1. I laughed so hard when I got to the last picture! Yes, someday they will appreciate that photo, it might be 30 years from now but the day will come!

  2. Oh gosh this is funny! I love how your daughter is ready and has her knee popped. My daughter poses the same way(: What a lovely family you have. And I love your top too! Susan

  3. Wonderful family pics…the commentary you provide is hilarious.

Cyndi, your hair style & color is absolutely beautiful! The fashion tips & styles are always appreciated – thank you!

  4. Black and white together is one of my favorite combinations!! It always looks so crisp and clean! Love the style of the top and the black trim! You look great!!!

  5. Love those pics! I take several shots of everything, hoping to get that one shot. Your patience won out in the end. 🙂

You look beautiful, as always. Thanks for sharing.

  6. I love your story on the photo session. Too funny, but not surprising when there are so many boys involved. I love the black & white top on you, Cyndi. I received the two tops I ordered from Glamour Farms today. They fit perfect and I’m very happy with them with one exception- they have to be hand washed. But, I think they will be worth it. God Bless!

  7. That was way too funny!! I stumbled upon your blog a couple of months ago. I look forward to it showing up in my email. I enjoy your gentle approach to spirituality.

  8. Love your outift! I am the youngest of 10 and my dad just turned 97. You would never know his that age, he still helps my brothers in the field. I am from South Dakota and live in a farming communtiy. We just had a family reunion, there were 143 attending and 36 missing. There was alot of laughing and noise, but alot of fun. My mother passed away 5 years ago. I have been following your blog for over a year and I love your fashion.

  9. Cyndi I am just curious when you became interested in fashion? Love the black and white it is always a classic

  10. As always, never to disappoint, Classy Cyndi! I love the top and the whole outfit is flattering. Father’s Day pictures with your narrative are hilarious!

  11. Cyndi,
I have been shopping/ looking around lot the last few weeks. The only piece I see every where are the drapey, swing stay cardigans. They vary though in length, fabric, and volume.
I would love your thought on this trend. Do you think the long in the front- short in the back is flattering? I find the extra fabric feels overwhelming…but I want yo be current.
Any opinions, thought, suggestions, or advice!! Thank you!

      1. Suzanna, I’m kind of with you on the swingy tops although I have a few. I’m petite and they definitely don’t look well on shorter people unless you can find them in petite. I’ll be happy when the trend fizzles out. I think key if your short, is buying petites. Wearing a heel sure helps elongate the finished look no matter your height. I’d be happy to hear others thoughts and opinions as well! 😉

  12. Love the pictures and your narrative…lol! One day they will appreciate ALL of these pictures.
    What a keepsake.

  13. Cute s always! I have a question–been seeing lots of long, sleeveless “vests” in the stores. What do you think of them?

  14. I love the play by play of the pic taking event. lol It would be so like that at my house. We are Greek, so therefor all talkers……and I love taking pics, but some of the guys not so thrilled, so I totally feel ya girl 😉

  15. love the picture !! but were is your husband ?? i love black and white this outfit looks comfy and cool

  16. Love the outfit….you look great in it.

Just wondering….any plans for another online bible study? The last one was so enjoyable! Thanks.

  17. Cyndi, I love the black and white shirt!!! I will watch for it to go on sale a little pricey for me right now. Your pictures of getting a good picture with Grandpa cracked me up because that is what it is like for us too and we don’t have quite as many 5 grandkids total but 3 are boys that do NOT like photos or are always crazy in them. Glad you were successful in the end. Can never have two many photos with the Grandparents!

  18. LOVE the Father’s Day photos. I hope your father and your husband had a wonderful day.

My husband is the youngest of 5 children. There are 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. You talk about LOUD! My father-in-law passed 20 years ago, however I am blessed to still have my father….88 and still golfing 2-3 days per week!

As always, super cute outfit. In fact, my daughter and I shared your blog with our pastor’s wife. She’s adorable, and worries about being appropriate but not church-lady-ish (remember that character?).

  19. Cute outfit. Wondering what type of bra you are wearing?
Family pictures are always a challenge with my family too. Inevitably, there will be one in the group with a frown. You are right they will appreciate the family photo some day!

  20. Love your outfit. And had to laugh at picture. I have 5 grandkids and 4 are boys so I understand your frustration in getting a picture. 🙂

  21. So adorable! The pictures were great! Thx for sharing them frame by frame
🙂 love your outfit! My dad passed away a little over 3 years ago. I’m so happy he’s celebrating with our Heavenly Father! It brings so much peace to my heart knowing where He is ;-). God bless your whole family. So much fun! And one more girl will be joining you all soon… So exciting!!

  22. Hi Cyndi,
I am an only child and my daughter is an only child. However we have a large family. I have 19 cousins and 12 aunts/uncles (mom’s side). We are loud when we get together, unfortunately often times its for a funeral.
We always say we need to get together (when there is not death). We do enjoy one another so much.
I love black and white. Your outfit looks great!

  23. The Father’s Day pictures are cute … I think in time, you will love them more and more. I do enjoy seeing your outfits and really like that you are not super skinny and super tall – as is the case with many websites that model women’s clothing. Sometime the prices of some of the items are more than I can afford as is the case with the black/white keyhole top. $59 is just more than I would feel comfortable paying for a top.

    1. Donna I did have coupons for Macy’s when I bought the top. I visit a lot of blogs that spend way more than I can afford on clothes. I may not buy the item but I love to get ideas!!
Thank so much for stopping by!
      Cyndi

  24. what a treasure. I hope they all saw it and realized why you were reaching for the Aleve. !!
I think one might get a clue when they realize it is primarily MALES populating the pix. through it all Grandpa just seems to be happy they are there whether they are floating in or out of camera range.
