What I Wore-Neutral Swing Back Sweater

neutrals 8Happy Hump Day ladies! This summer has been all about color for me but today I’m changing it up and wearing some neutrals.

neutral-topI paired this LOFT swing back sweater with my Wit & Wisdom jeans but I also think it would look good with a pair of off white pants.

neutrals 2I’m such a fan of the hi-lo style top. The back of this is a silky, off white and the front is a champagne color. In a few weeks when the weather is a little chilly, I can add a cute scarf!

neutrals 7This swing back sweater is a great transition piece for summer to fall and it’s on sale for $25. The necklace is on sale too!

Beauty For the Heart~~Today I’m thinking about God’s grace. I don’t take it lightly. I know the sacrifices He made so that I could have it.

To be honest, I’m desperate for grace. Where would I be without it?

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:6

I pray today that you will feel God’s grace and know that you are loved by an almighty God who is holding you in the palm of His hands.

Have a blessed day!

  1. Hi Cyndi – This top has a very sheer back. Do you wear a cami underneath? Is there a particular brand that you like? – Thanks! Barbara

  2. Hi Cyndi, You have inspired me with sooo many of your beautifully matched outfits that I have designated a folder with your name on it in my documents that holds all your outfit pix… and when I’m at a loss as to what to put together….(in color or style-long or short bottoms etc or in jewelry) I flip over to it and take a look and find something I like and try to match up an outfit in the items that I have, similar!! Jut wanted to tell you this tid-bit… 🙂

    Hi Cyndi,
Cute blouse, love the jeans and the shoes too !!! Colors perfect for the beginning of Fall and ending of late summertime!!

  4. I’m trying to buy pieces that are good for now but will transition into fall. I love that sweater and it’s perfect for that. I always love when you take basic pieces and style several outfits. Any chance of you doing that soon? Thank you for your blog!!!!!

  5. Hi, love your blog…….however since you upgraded your blog I’m having a lot of pop up ads and big ads in the middle of your post which I didn’t have before ( I use an iPad ). Any thoughts ? Thanks !! ?

      1. Not sure if I know how , and maybe I worded it wrong but there are just a lot of large ads every few lines as I scroll down the post. They were never there before 🙂 hope that helps !

  6. I love to read your website and see what you are styling. What do you recommend to wear with those longer tops like the high-low?

    Thanks,

    Kim

  7. I always love your outfits! I notice a lot of them are jeans or white jeans. I’m a teacher and can only wear jeans on Friday. I would love to see more pant outfits that are not jeans. Thanks for your inspiration. You have pushed me out of my box!

  8. I LOVE this outfit, you look fab! It is so hot in VA right now. I am definitly ready for scarves, boots and pumpkin spice lattes!!!!

  9. Hey Cyndi~
I was wondering what size you are wearing in this top. I’ve noticed some of the Loft tops run big. Does this one seem to be true to size?
    Thanks!

  10. hi cyndi you look great as always !! I am buying transitional piece i live in delaware so once fall hits its a lot of laying. I put them on in the morning and by the end the day i have to take them off cuz it hot . so it looks like i have on a different outfit then i came to work with

  11. I live in Texas with temps this week expected to range 104-108, soooooo I’m still buying summer clothes! Love the shoes!

  12. I buy summer clothes all year long. Central Florida has about four cold days annually. lol When we lived in CT for five years I actually experienced four seasons. Love them, miss them.
Love your blog, especially the beauty for the heart.

  13. Hi Cyndi, I too am getting a lot of overlapping and several ads on your site. Seems to be happening just since you updated the face of your Blog.

Cute top and outfit! I recently picked up a couple summer of tops and a maxi dress so yes, I’m still hitting a few of the summer clearance racks but being very choosy. We are going on vacation this fall to a warm place so I’m looking for some good deals on the beachy scene. Just bought two very good quality and comfortable swimsuits from Macy’s this week. I will begin focusing on some fall pieces soon! Just not quite ready for the leaves to fall!

  14. I’ve been eyeing that necklace at LOFT. I like the hi-lo tops too, as long as they’re loose. I have several from LOFT but haven’t tried the swing top like you have. Might have to make a visit to LOFT tomorrow, since it’s only about 1 mile from my office. 😉 I’m definitely buying transitional pieces now. I just bought the tweed dark gray dress pants, the jacquard dolman Tee (silver), and the lace overlay Tee in burgundy (all from LOFT and were 1/2 price).

  15. What a great transitional piece! You always find the cutest things at LOFT. I share your appreciation for their clothing, and just spent my birthday gift card and discount on this sleeveless Lou & Grey salmon hi-lo sweater: http://www.loft.com/lou-26-grey-sleeveless-tunic-sweater/360683?skuId=18703078&defaultColor=5254&prodId=360683, a new pair of my favorite jeans in black, and a beautiful teal sweater: http://www.loft.com/split-textural-sweater: /379251?skuId=19393629&defaultColor=1044&prodId=379251. I’m a little unsure about the sleeveless sweater, as it’s too warm for much of our weather here, but the salmon color is very flattering.
We are just getting into our hottest time of the year in Texas (predicted highs in the next week include 108 – 110!) but these pieces have me looking forward to much cooler weather. I know you have an August birthday – hope you are blessed with a LOFT gift card from a friend at church like I was!

  16. I’ve started picking up some transition pieces – and some on really good sales too. The Limited has been having great sales – I got a lined, tweet jacket – in my size :), from their “scandal” line for $34 (reg. $168) I cannot wait to wear it and it was a steal!
Need to check out Loft soon too.
BTW, the tassel tie, sling back, peep toe shoes are fantastic!!!!

    1. I also ordered the plum! I may go to the Loft outlet which is close by to look at some of the necklaces to go with it. Cute top!

    1. Lisa, I bought these jeans at Cyndi’s recommendation earlier this year and my best fit was a size 8. I am 5’9″, 145 pounds, waist 29″, hips 40″. The fabric is very soft and thinner than normal jeans – more like leggings. Just wore mine for two straight days of babysitting a two-month old and they are as comfortable as pj’s, very easy to sit on the floor, etc. I noticed they did get a little looser by day two, but I’m sure a quick trip through the washer and dryer will fix that. They look really cute cuffed up; haven’t worn them down yet due to the heat, but probably will pair them with boots in the fall. Hope that helps!

  17. I am definitely done purchasing summer clothes and just ordered my first two fall items.

With the change in seasons approaching, can you address a question that I’ve had and that I’ve seen mixed reviews on when I search online? That question is…can I use a light tan purse – and shoes! – in the fall and winter? I have this Coach bag and I love it! I also have pumps in about the same color. Thanks!

    1. April it looks a little spring and summer to me but it’s also a classic piece to I think you can get away with carrying it through fall.
      Hope that helps!
      Cyndi

  18. Hi – cute outfit! I’d look for more hi/low tops but I’ve banned myself from buying any more tops! For a while. Noting for future… 🙂

It may be because I’m using the Internet Explorer 11, but the top of my page is overlaying your header (black and white photo), the top 3-photo collage and the ads (United Way/AmEx). I’ll try to send you a screen shot. … Hm, not seeing your e-address… Maybe it’s hidden by these overlapping photos?
