26 Days Of Fall Fashion (Day 5)

26 Days Of Fall Fashion (Day 5)
Happy Saturday and welcome to Day 5 of my 26 Days of Fall fashion! Today I’m sharing a plaid top styled two different ways.

I’m sure you all have lots of things going on during this holiday weekend so I’ll try to keep my post short and sweet.

I love to wear plaid for fall and this top from LOFT is a perfect top for early fall. As the weather gets colder, I can always add a blazer and scarf. (LOFT is have a 30% off sale today.)

26 Days Of Fall Fashion (Day 5)For a casual look, I styled it with denim and leopard flats. Remember, leopard is a neutral so you can easily wear it with plaid. 🙂

26 Days Of Fall Fashion (Day 5)I love a cute pair of pointy toe flats. These are from Nordstrom and will be perfect for my fall outfits.

26 Days Of Fall Fashion (Day 5)To give the plaid top a little more of a feminine look, I added a blingy necklace.

26 Days Of Fall Fashion (Day 5)For a dressier look, I styled the plaid top with a pair of skinny pants from LOFT. I shared a post a few weeks ago, One Pant Styled Three Ways. These are the same pants and I have already gotten a lot of wear out of them.

26 Days Of Fall Fashion (Day 5)Good morning sunshine!!

26 Days Of Fall Fashion (Day 5)The casual look with the leopard flats, I would wear during the week but I would wear the dressier outfit to church.

Beauty For the Heart~~We have a busy weekend but I’m heading this morning to put flowers on my Mom’s grave.

It’s been six years this month since Mom passed away and I still can’t believe she’s gone. I have so many things I want to tell her, and I still feel I need her godly advice. She is so so missed!

It’s always a good reminder to tell those around you how much you love them. Hug them a little tighter. Don’t miss the blessings of having the people you love around you.

James 4:14 says, How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog–it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.

Life is short so live life to the fullest!

Have a blessed Saturday!

  1. I just wanted to tell you what you undoubtedly know-your mother will always be with you. I’m sure you can hear her voice and know her heart even though it’s been too long since you’ve seen her. It’s been almost twelve years since I’ve seen my father and I know the cost of great love is the potential for great loss.. As I face my own mortality, much younger than my father did, I have faith that the love I am giving my family will live on beyond my mortal body and that God will take over for me when I am no longer on this earth. God is both love and peace, for the dead and the living.

  2. Hi Cyndi,
Love the plaid blouse, in both outfits. You look wonderful in both !
I would however, loved to have seen the blouse styled in a different way… maybe long in front? For those of us who don’t tuck in our blouses, can you please post the alternative in a photo along with the other styles? Just a suggestion…. Thank you very much. 🙂
I’m thinking of you today after reading how many years your mom has been in Heaven. My mother has been in Heaven since 1996, the year we moved from Ohio-Indiana, the tri-state area, to KY. I still miss my mom, and all I have to do is pass out a gospel tract, and I am reminded of her or out in my veggie garden or flower garden, all these things where her favorite things to do. We are all like the vapor and will pass away, it is sooo important to know where we are going after death. Praise the Lord, we can know the way to Heaven through Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sin!

  3. Hi Cy ndi!
Thinking of you! I lost my mom last summer. I still can’t believe she is gone, I miss her very much.
I love your plaid outfits ! I look forward to receiving your post daily posts!
Have a great Labour Day Weekend!
    Marcella

  4. Love, love, all three looks! Plaid is really big, I’m seeing it everywhere! I can’t wait to wear my leopard flats with some plaid.

Cyndi, my mom has been gone for 25 years. Sometimes it seems like yesterday and other days an eternity. What I would give to talk to her right now! Thinking of you and all the other ladies without their moms.

    God Bless,
    Penny

  5. I wanted to let you know that I will be praying for you as you put flowers on your Mom’s grave this weekend. I lost my Mom 4 1/2 years ago and miss her every day. Like you, so many things I wish I could tell her. When I’m sick or upset she is the first person I want to go to even to this day. I met my husband late in life and our son was only 10 months old when she died. She had been so excited to be a Grandma. God Bless you and know you are not alone in missing your Mom. There are lots of is that share that grief with you.

  6. I will mark the third year of my Mom’s passing on November 25th, it doesn’t seem possible – we were extremely close, she was my best friend, and I was with her when Jesus came to get her. I miss her terribly. God bless you today as you visit your Mother, and remember that God stays near to the broken-hearted <3

  7. Sending love to you as you remember your mom. I lost mine 2 weeks before my 30th b’day. I always tell people that no matter the relationship (ours was strained towards the end–but I loved her dearly), we’re never old enough nor ever ready to lose our moms.

CUTE outfit(s). I was just telling Jo-Lynne that I needed a pair of those flats. Guess I need to do a bit of Labor Day Weekend shopping. 🙂

    Blessings.

  8. Your outfits are adorable! I feel like I dress so much better since I’ve started following your blog. And can I just tell you how much I love Glamour Farms and Loft? 🙂 What I really appreciate, though, are the little reminders you give us every day to focus on God. It’s easy to forget that in the busyness of life. Both of my parents have passed away, and it’s just something I don’t think I’ll ever get over. I’m not grieving and bawling every day, but I miss them constantly. It just never goes away when you love someone that much, you know? But I do look forward to the day when we will be reunited! What a day that will be! God bless you!

  9. I can sure relate to “missing mom”. It’s a testament to our love and the wonderful women they were. Prayers for all who are missing someone this weekend ……

  10. Cyndi you look great! Loving the leopard flats you & Jo-Lynne are styling!! Now to find a pair to fit my narrow feet. My Mom was gone 18 years last week, I still miss her. I think we just always “need” our Mom no matter how old we get! Have a great weekend!

  11. I love this outfit!!! Loft is a wonderful store. They have so many sales and coupons. I also receive more coupons by having a Loft Charge Card. I think the thing I like about this the most is not always wearing jeans. I love dressing up 🙂 May God Bless you for sharing with us. Have a Blessed Day!!

  12. I really like the plaid top! I want to add one to my fall clothing options. I understand how much you miss your mom and have things to share with her, because I am that way about my dad. He left this earth in 1986 and I still miss him so much! I tell him often how much he and my husband have in common and the good times they would have had. I wish you peace today and always! God bless!

  13. I love your outfit. Question: I have a leopard statement necklace from the Loft. Is it too much to wear with leopard belt and shoes?

    1. My personal feeling (I know you wanted Cyndi’s) is that while leopard can be considered a neutral, a little goes a long ways. I stick with one leopard thing per outfit, sometimes stretching that to two. Three is too much, imho. 🙂

  14. Very cute outfits. Love the plaid top. I lost my mom 5 years ago but she was 90 so had a good long life. But you lost your mom too soon, Cyndi. I miss my mom so much also. She was a good person. Have a safe & happy weekend & get your husband in one of your 26 days! 🙂

  15. Thank you for that great reminder…
    Life is about relationships..
Happy memories and prayers to you
As you remember your mom today!
She is smiling down on the way you bless all of us!

Bought shoes after your styling love them!
