26 Days of Fall Fashion (Day 24)

26 Days of Fall Fashion (Day 24)Well, here we are at Day 24 of my 26 Days of Fall Fashion. Today I’m styling a cowl neck sweater.

You know how you see something you like, you purchase it, and even wear it, then you see it in a picture and think, hmmm. I’m not sure that color is working for me?

That’s how I felt about this sweater. I love pale pink but I don’t think it’s one of the best colors for my olive skin tone.

Anyway this is what I wore to church. I paired it with my ankle pants from LOFT and my open toe heels from Kohl’s.
26 Days of Fall Fashion (Day 24) 26 Days of Fall Fashion (Day 24)26 Days of Fall Fashion (Day 24) I will definitely wear the sweater again. I think it would look cute with a pair of skinny jeans too.

LOFT is having a sale and a lot of their sweaters are 40% off! This poncho I wore recently is on sale.

26 Days of Fall Fashion (Day 24)Do you try to wear the colors you know you look the best in?

Beauty For the Heart~~I don’t know about you all, but stress can sometimes get the best of me. My to do list is long and then there’s always those unexpected things that pop up.

In Luke 10:41b -42a Jesus says this, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed.”

Now, he was talking to Martha but he might as well be talking to me. What is the answer? Slow down and sit at His feet.

Have a blessed day!

  1. I love that color of pink, but I have fair skin with pink undertones and look totally washed out in it. I would have to wear the Marsala near my face and accessorize with the pale pink. I am particular about the colors I wear because they really do make a difference.

  2. I used to have the same problem with my to do list. My mentor told me if this was a real big problem, to make a list at night of all the things I did do that day. It really helped me!

  3. I wanted to let you know that your posts have not been coming through on Bloglovin’. I realized I hadn’t seen any from you in a week or so, and it shows your last post as Sept 23. I’ve been enjoying your fall fashion series!

  4. Boy did I need your message today, letting stress get to me & then our dryer went out. Before I read your post my DH told me to let it go…worrying won’t help & God will take care of it. We know these things, just need a reminder at times. I think you’re outfit looks great! I do tend to stay to “my” colors, maybe too much at times! Have a blessed day 🙂

    1. Boy when my washer or dryer goes out it’s like the worst thing that ever happened to me! After I have a meltdown I’m so disappointed in myself because I know how silly it is.. ..and then I’m able to see the humor in it…sounds like you have a good attitude 🙂

  5. Love the style of the sweater and love it with those pants. You might be right about the color. Just recently I have noticed I can’t wear the paler colors I used to. Reading a style book, it talks about as we get older we need brighter colors . ugh…..I did notice that color of pink is very popular for the fall….just not for me! I do try to wear colors that look really good with my coloring. I find it does make a big difference.

  6. I think you look beautiful as always! I have a similar skin tone, so I know what you mean. I have a similar outfit and I purchased a really cute necklace from Loft that has both colors, and it breaks up the look close to the neck. You could wear a paper sack and it would be great! Be blessed!

  7. I don’t think it looks bad, but to be honest, well, I’ve seen better colors on you – ones that make your face just sparkle and shine with energy. The pale pink is pretty, but you almost look tired. Maybe you could put on a scarf with brighter colors with this sweater and feel better about wearing it 🙂 because it is really pretty and looks comfy! Don’t get me wrong – it looks good on you, I just have seen you with better colors.
Thanks for being real Cyndi – and yes, I do try to wear my “best” colors, but I often get it wrong. For instance, when orange was really popular one of my friends insisted I buy a scarf with lots of orange in it – which I did, and whenever I wore it I was frequently asked if I was feeling ok..LOL, needless to say I quit wearing the scarf.

  8. I think it looks great on you. I’m a slight ash blond, brow/hazel eyes with olive skin and I love pale pink. It’s not bubblegum pink. I just think you’re not used to it. I used to wear soooo much black and white, which I still love but color adds more balance sometimes. It’s been fun seeing all of the fall fashion even though it’s been on the warner side most places.

    Have a blessed day ?

  9. This color combo is fabulous…I’m actually doing it for an upcoming post (way upcoming—like November). I think it’s good to know which colors are best/not as good for you, but I really hate to limit my choices. If I’m going somewhere special, I’ll try to wear the better colors for me, but I think overall, as long as we look “nice”—that’s the impression we give off! I think this outfit is great (although being an accessory junkie—I’d be wearing a necklace!) jodie

  10. I love the sweater and it is my color so if you don’t want it….Hee-Hee! In all seriousness you could wear a scarf with colors in the scarf that would better compliment your skin tone and the sweater at the same time. It’s not the easiest thing to wear a scarf with a cowl necked top but it can be done and be adorably classy! We just got back from a wonderful vacation and I’m still on “Island Time” but reality begins this morning! My to do list is long and I can feel the stress begining to mount. Thank you for the reminder of Christ’s words to sit at His feet which is more important.

  11. You don’t look like you have olive skin, to me. At least, not in the photos on your blog. You look more like a winter, which would be jewel tones.

  12. Cyndi, I really like the outfit! While you look very nice, I agree with you about the light pink with your olive skin. Another color would compliment your skin tone more. I know you will make adjustments the next time you wear the sweater so that it does compliment you! The shoes are awesome, but not for me! I do try to wear the colors that I look the best in, especially when I don’t have on foundation to smooth out my facial skin. Even in retirement, I find myself trying to do too many things on “that list” in one day. As we are on the road to our home in the country, my husband and I notice the stress of city living melting away, and we get more and more relaxed. We’ve noticed that in the country the evenings are meant to be spent with family & friends, sitting on the porch drinking ice tea and talking. On Saturday most of the stores close by 6 and on Sunday’s church is high priority and the stores are closed. The things on those lists can just wait!
    Have a blessed day!

  13. Last year I had my “colors” done by a color specialist in the DC area. YES – it made and makes a huge difference! All these years, I thought I was a “winter”, but now I KNOW I am an autumn with warm undertones. Does it mean I do/don’t wear certain colors? Yes and No. I wear my BEST colors near my face and the other colors that are “in fashion” or “in season” but not MY season other places…I think you are an “Autumn” and that’s why you don’t like that particular pink on you…Imagine if your jeans were the pink and the cowl neck the wine color – it would be a home run for YOU! Email me if you would like me to send you a photo of the info I received. I’d love to share it with you – I think we have similar coloring.

Knowing this information has given me the power to shop smarter and eliminate less than flattering pieces from my wardrobe. And my wardrobe “works better” as I no longer have “random purchases”…

  14. Oh, those lists Cindi! I so understand the stress that they cause. I’m another Martha, so I need to slow down and when the unexpected happens, give God the glory for thinking of me! Love your blog and your style!

  15. Hi Cyndi,
I love this outfit on you. I think you look good in everything. My color that does not look good on me every time I try to wear it is gray. I looked in my closet the other day and I think I may have one gray thing in there, my cardigan that I wore in a pic in my group. But other then that I don’t think gray is for me. I love the earth tones of blues, maroons, greens, browns-tans. I also don’t look good in purples.
You look adorable in the cow neck too. I love to wear them, cause I’m not real fan of clothing up around my neck like the turtle necks, but I adore the cow necks. 🙂 Yes, I agree, this sweater with skinny bluejeans would look adorable!! Have a blessed day!

  16. Good morning, the weekend did go by too fast! I think this color looks great on you, and it looks really comfy too. I definitely wear colors I think look better on me! Have a great day! I’m off to work!?

  17. You look cute in everything. I feel like I need fitted. Not sure it would be for me. Love that Jean color. Are the loft jeans real low cut? I was in the other day & took advantage of sale. Got 3 tops & boot socks plus a bracelet Jo-Lynne styled one day. Great buys!
