Fall Fashion-Mixing Brown and Black

Fall Fashion-Mixing Brown and BlackHappy Monday! I think I’m still in vacation mode, I can’t seem to get going this morning.

Today I’m keeping it pretty basic with a black tunic from Target and I added brown accessories. I like mixing brown and black together.

Fall Fashion-Mixing Brown and BlackThis tunic fits a little snug but it has stretch in it so it doesn’t feel too tight.

Fall Fashion-Mixing Brown and Black Fall Fashion-Mixing Brown and BlackI added this leopard print necklace and mudpie clutch from Glamour Farms. (Use discount code Spivey444 to get $10 off your purchase at Glamour Farms.) I get asked a lot about my nails, if you want to know my nail color you can go here.

Fall Fashion-Mixing Brown and BlackI love the flowy style tops and ponchos but sometimes it’s nice to show some curves, right? (at least that’s what my husband says. 🙂 )

Beauty For the Heart~~Most of us like to wear lipstick or at least a lipgloss. My lips feel naked if I don’t have something on them.

Scripture has a lot to say about our lips and our mouth. Let’s be honest most of us have had something come out of our mouth that we wish we could take back. Can I get an amen??

Psalm 141:3 says, “Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!”

As you put lip color on your lips today pray that what comes out of your mouth is pleasing to God. Let’s be an encouragement!

Have a blessed day!

  1. HI Cyndi! I have that same tunic from Target in grey, and love it. It’s soft, comfortable and looks great with skinny jeans or leggings. Thank you for sharing your style, I’ve gotten some great ideas from your fashion posts!

  2. I just want to say you are a beautiful lady. Thank you for all you share and your ideas. The one thing lately you shared was the CND solar oil. This oil has revolutionized my nails and toes. They have always been SO thin and dry. Now they grow, are moist and my Shellac manicure lasts the two full weeks. Thank you for sharing!!!

  3. The verse today couldn’t have been more timely. We learned a week ago that our church is closing (sold) our campus (the smallest of three campuses) and the way it was decreed and handled left much to be desired. While I am sure that wasn’t the intention, it feels as if the 800 of us don’t matter. Guarding my lips has been very, very hard – especially yesterday when we “voted” on the sale. Thanks for the reminder that once I let my words into the air, I cannot take them back.

  4. I love this outfit! The tunic fits you so well and your necklace is a real eyecatcher. Black and browns (or tans) are a classic look and, I think, always appropriate. Great message about watching what we say. I love your posts for many reasons, your style and uplifting words are just two of them.

  5. Don’t we all need to put a guard on our mouths from time to time. I love the brown with black but never would have thought to do it. Thanks.

  6. Amen. This is exactly what God is teaching me. Pretty lips need gracious words passing through them!

    Thank you for sharing.

  9. I just love your blog! I look so forward to receiving new updates! I love your sense of fashion (you always look so cute!) and am encouraged by your love for Christ! Keep it up!

  10. Love this more fitted tunic. I love the flowy ones but don’t want to go overboard, I’m afraid they’re going to run there course quickly. It’s good to mix it up! Thanks for the great job you do!

  11. I agree with your husband that you should show some curves – and if my curves were like yours, I’d show them more often:) I don’t always like brown and black together, but I love what you did with the tunic and accessories!

    1. I totally agree with Bertie! Unfortunately my curves have a lot more lumps and rolls! ?
      Great outfit on you Cyndi.

  12. I have not mixed brown and black, but am willing to give it a try. The scripture goes with what was shared on Saturday with the residents at the assisted living facility where my mom lives. James 3:1-12 talks about how we use our tongue and how we should be more careful with what we say, even when no one else can hear us. God always hears us! Have a blessed day!

  13. Amen sister! so true about what come out of our lips… I love to encourage people and this is a great reminder 🙂 I never mixed brown and black together before ( i.e. black bottoms with brown boots) I would have always worn black boots previously , but I love the way it looks on you. thx for sharing. Have an awesome day 😉
