Over 40 Fashion: The Perfect Fall Sweater

Over 40 Fashion: The Perfect Fall SweaterWelcome Monday! It’s full fall weather here. The leaves are gorgeous but I’m afraid they’ll be gone after this weeks rain. Hurricane Patricia is now affecting our weather and we are supposed to get a lot of rain.

**Update the sweater is $25 off right now at LOFT!

Last week, Sheaffer from Pinterest Told Me To shared this perfect fall sweater from LOFT. I immediately fell in love with the sweater and ordered it.

Over 40 Fashion: The Perfect Fall SweaterI wore it (several times!) this weekend. It is so stinkin’ cute and comfortable! Petite ladies, you will rock this sweater!

LOFT is having a flash sale this morning until 10 am (est) so if you like it, grab it (use code: flash). I think this one will sell out quick!

I added my Stella & Dot necklace and a ring from LOFT. I did order the necklace Sheaffer has on because I have been eyeing it for a while. The gold is sold out, but they still have the silver. This would make a great stocking stuffer!

Beauty For the Heart~~Last year I shared about Bennett Lester (The Lester family are very dear friends to some of my family members). Many of you are new around here and may not know her story. You can find my post about it here.

God gave Bennett and her family a few extra months together and they have been enjoying life, knowing that sweet Bennett’s life was only going to be a short gift to their family.

Katie, Bennett’s Mom, updated their Caring Bridge site last night and I thought those of you who have been praying would want to read it. They are begging for prayer for their family at this time (read about it here).

Would you join me in praying for the family as they say goodbye to Bennett?

Have a blessed day friends!

  1. I’m just not fond of the two pattern tops. I don’t know the official name for this style. I’m old fashioned I guess. Make it solid or the pattern but don’t combine.

  2. What are the colors in the blouse part of the sweater? It’s a little hard to tell for sure. I looked on website and it wasn’t much help.

  3. Love the sweater on you, Cyndi! I ordered one last week after seeing it on Pinterest Told Me To…it arrived yesterday and I love it! Yay Loft!

  4. Hi Cyndi,
I’m not sure if my first post went through, it gave me a message that my time ran out and to post it again.
I am praying for little Bennett and her family. It is very hard to lose a child. God has His reasons, why we sometimes must suffer the lost of a dear one. One day we will all be together again in Heaven!
Love your sweater blouse. You are beautiful in blue!
At first glace I thought you have taken a thin sweater and lapped it over your head … but the longer I looked at it, the arms, etc… the more it grew on me. LOL
Not a style for me, but very beautiful on you! God Bless You today!!

  5. I just wanted to pass along to a couple of the commenters that Loft runs 40% of merchandise fairly often, so or they’re interested in that sweater, keep an eye out. I bought one (in petites) at 40% off a week ago Saturday.
BTW, it looks great on you and really cute with your boots!

  6. I recently was wondering about Bennet and how she was doing. I’m saddened for this mother and father because they have to let her go to Heaven. I pray she is given comfort and ease of pain as God wraps his arms around her when she arrives in into His Kingdom and I pray that her parents are given ease of pain in their hearts. God please be with them is time of sadness.

  7. Hi Cyndi – Would you mind sharing where you found your gorgeous earrings? I was just at a Premier Designs jewelry demo yesterday, and yours remind me of some of the earrings I saw. However, I don’t believe Premier had that style in gold. So, I’m very curious. I love them!

    All the best,
    Susan

  8. Bennett’s story breaks my heart! I thought losing my mom to cancer (she was 56) in 2001 was hard, but to lose a child is unbearable to even think about. My thoughts are with this family and my prayers will be ongoing for heaven to come quickly, for minimal suffering and the courage to face it all as bravely as possible. Bad things do happen to good people, we just have to trust God. He knows his plan for all of us.

  9. The sweater is really cute on you – love the colors!

My heart is breaking for Bennett and her family. Will definitely keep them in my prayers.

  10. oh Cyndi….my heart…so sad. Thank you for sharing and giving us an update about Bennett. It is my honor to pray for her and her family. I’m praying in one accord with her momma that she will not suffer and that God will be glorified through this tragedy. Also praying for peace and eventually healing for this family. I cannot even begin to imagine what they are feeling ;-(

  11. Just ordered this sweater. I am only 5’3″ so hoping it turns outa winner. I am saying prayers for sweet little Bennett and her brave family. As another going through this horrible cancer journey (husband) I know how precious life is. Thank you, Cyndi.p

  12. I saw the sweater in the store on Saturday and it’s soft and pretty. I think it would look great with camel bottoms also. You look great!

  13. I will definitely keep the Lester family in my prayers. The pain they have and continue to go through is so heartbreaking. Their story definitely puts things in perspective.

I really like the sweater because it is not a run of the mill. I hope it’s within this retirees budget so that I can get one. I may order it for my husband to give it to me for Christmas.

Like in KY, here in GA we are getting the rain from Patricia, which is playing heck with the fall leaves in the trees. I will definitely have to use my backpack leaf blower later in the week so we can find the driveway. Have a blessed day!

  14. I bought that sweater for my daughter in law last week! Love it! Guess I’ll get me one also 🙂 Navy is not a color I usually wear but I think I’ll try it! You look beautiful as always. Thanks for the update on the Bennet family.

  15. although the sweater looks nice on you, I personally think it looks like the sweater is just hanging in the front and not connected somewhat awkward looking.

  16. I also wanted to say – Thank you! For sharing this precious family with us. What an amazing post and what a courageous family! I can.not.imagine!!
I will be praying diligently for Bennett and all the family. Fashion is fun but being reminded of real life going on all around; the joys and the hardships, and being able to join in prayer with so many I’ll never meet is the best gift of all!
    xoxo

  17. Bennett and her family will be in my prayers. Thank you for sharing, my heart breaks for them, but what a wonderful message her mother wrote.

  18. Beautiful post by Bennetts mom
Thank you for sharing this sweet love story with us.
I will be praying for them to continue to feel Gods presence and to be held in his everlasting arms .

  19. I bought the same sweater in the wine color. I like the smaller print on this option, especially on my backside, since this is a longer top. 🙂

  20. I usually would not buy a sweater without a v neck line, but your necklace gives that illusion. Love this look!
