Hello Dallas, Texas!

Hello Dallas, Texas!Hello from Dallas, Texas! We flew in yesterday afternoon and I’m so excited to be here. For some reason, I feel like if I weren’t a Kentucky girl, Texas might be a good fit for me. Ha!

The flight was beautiful. It’s amazing how tiny everything looks when you’re up that high.

Hello Dallas, Texas! So pretty as we were about to land!

Hello Dallas, Texas! After we checked in to our hotel we relaxed for a bit and then headed to dinner. I snapped this crazy picture before we left.

Hello Dallas, Texas!
We ate dinner at Pappadeaux Seafood. It was delicious! We had crispy fried alligator for an appetizer and I ordered Salmon and Octopus for my entree. I have to admit I had not eaten alligator or octopus but I liked them both!

Today, I’m heading to the Spring Market. This is where buyers buy all their spring merchandise. They are held in several different cities.

Buyers from boutiques, Nordstrom, Loft, Anthropologie, Macy’s etc., all come to spring markets to pick out the clothes they will be selling.

I’m here with Pam, Stephanie and Elizabeth from Glamour Farms. They said it can get a little crazy and it’s crowded.

They wanted me here so I can pick out exactly what I want to style on my blog so I’ll be trying on a lot of clothes.

I did ask if there were dressing rooms. Nope! They said just make sure you were a cami and leggings, everyone is trying on clothes everywhere. Oh great! Not a time to be bashful. Ha!

Here is the best news! If we work really hard today, guess where we are headed to tomorrow?? (Big smile.)

  3. Hello Cyndi, I live in New Braunfels because the military brought us to Texas. Can I guess you are going to Canton??? My husband is a big antiques fan so he goes there often. Hmmm, Waco, Magnolia Farms shop maybe?? Been there too and it is cute, small, but cute. If my husband would open a shop we would sell the roof off the place. As you can see we have role reversal in my house. Have fun and be safe.

    1. So sorry Beth. Stay strong …I just bought a card for my dearest friend who just found out she has breast cancer. The card spoke about having to make a choice to follow Plan B when something happens that disrupts Plan A We all want plan A for our lives and want it to never change but most times something happens to cause us to switch to plan B. In your case it was two things. For me it was having our adult son diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer last year at the age of 53. Let me tell you, plan B is hard but rewarding at the same time…it brought all our family closer to each other and stronger in our faith by causing us to hold on to Gods promises and trust Him to always be with us no matter what. Hang in there Beth. God Bless.

  27. Welcome Cyndi and the ladies from Glamour Farms! Like others have said the weather is wonderful here the next several days so y’all couldn’t have come at a better time. Pappadeaux is really yummy. If you love southern home cooking give Babe’s Chicken Dinner House (affectionally called Babes) a try. So, so good.

  28. I am an hour and a half away and will be at the worlds largest flea market called First Monday, you absolutely need to come see us! There is all kinds of fun stuff from upscale to “junk on the grounds”, it’s a blast! Come see us!!!

    Paula

  29. Sounds like a fun trip. Like the others, I can’t wait to see what you pick out for Spring. I think my head would be spinning like crazy.

    Have a blessed day!

  30. Cyndi, I know you are busy but could you look for a mother of the bride dress that isn’t white or ivory and doesn’t look so matronly and would be suitable for an hour glass figure? It is a real problem out there and many of my friends have shares that they have the same struggle. Thank you!

  31. Welcome to Texas! I live 11 hours south on the border (it’s Texas), but wanted to welcome you to our state anyway.

  32. What a blast you’re going to have today! I have the GF top you’re wearing and love it! Also I love your beauty for the heart today! Nothing like viewing The expanse of God’s handiwork from an airplane!

  33. Hi Cyndi, So glad to hear you made it to Texas safely .. I sooooo love that restaurant !! We have one near me in Atlanta Georgia and Alligator is my favorite .. Wishing you a blessed trip and have fun trying on all those clothes cant wait to see them on your blog.

  35. I ordered the tunic from Glamour Farms that you have on in the pic and wore it yesterday to work with my black skinny jeans and boots. Yesterday was my birthday and it was a present from myself! I got lots of compliments on it. Thanks for all your great fashion posts along with the wonderful scripture and quotes that you share with us each day!

  36. Have a great time! It is work but also a lot of fun and with your super fun personality I know you will be a big hit. Texas is GREAT! I used to tell people I was born a Texan but I got there as fast as I could.

Have fun and keep smiling; can’t wait for your next post.

  37. How lucky are you! Have fun in Waco. Can’t wait to see what you and the girls from GF pick out. Y’all need check out Smoke in Dallas. I promise the food does not disappoint. Love the blog.

    1. I haven’t been to Smoke Becky but based on your recommendation I’ll suggest it to my husband for our next date night. Their Plano location isn’t too far for us and we’re always looking for new places to go. I know your comment was directed at Cyndi but thanks!
