Casual Sweater & Jeans -Winter Fashion

Happy hump day! I’m so glad you all liked my save vs. splurge post yesterday. I’m working on one for shoes and I will share it next Tuesday.

I might have to do 2 days of save vs. splurge on shoes!! There are so many good ones. I love shoes and because I was researching for the post, I ordered 3 pairs of shoes yesterday. Help me!!

Anyway, today I’m wearing this fair isle sweater from Loft. Some of you might remember I wore it with a skirt back in December. (Notice the grass and some sun peaking out in the back of this picture.)

Casual Sweater & Jeans -Winter FashionThis is what our weather looks like right now in Kentucky. Can I have a moment of silence?? It’s foggy, cold, wet, and I feel like I haven’t seen the sun for a month. I know I’m whining. Let’s move on.

I wanted to wear this sweater again before winter is over but I don’t need to dress up today so I’m wearing it with jeans and these flats from Target. We’ll see how long I can stay in these shoes, I feel like I might have to put a pair of warm boots on before the day is over.

Casual Sweater & Jeans -Winter FashionI think I need to step up my game when it comes to handbags. Many of you said you like real leather. This handbag was gifted to me by QVC and I have to admit I like it better than my cheaper handbags and I’m always getting compliments on it. Go figure!

Since so many of you like leather handbags, have you tried any Aimee Kestenberg bags??

Beauty For the Heart~~And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary. Galatians 6:9

It’s easy at times to become weary. There is so much opposition to the best plans for doing good; there is so much to be done; but Paul encourages us to persevere! Don’t grow weary. Keep doing good!

Have a blessed day!

  1. You look amazing everyday! I love your style and your sharing your walk with God. I’ve styled several things after your blog posts an love it. I do believe true beauty is on the inside but we can bring it forward and outward with feeling great in the clothes we wear, You are an inspiration!

Its going to be 60 in Cleveland today so I will be wearing a lighter outfit but will start looking for fun new spring items!

  2. HI Cyndi, Love the outfit!!!! Just thought I would mention this to you even though, “I’m a dollar short and a day late”…. yep I’ve heard the chicken saying and I was born and raised in Ohio, but my momma was a Southern Girl. 🙂

  3. My husband got me this outfit (with skirt) for Christmas and I LOVE it. I get so many compliments on it and the sweater may be my new favorite got to for winter. So comfortable and warm. I too have paired with jeans for a more casual look as well. He got me the slate blue shirt as well that was paired with the skirt on the site. I’m looking forward to wearing it this spring as it warms up. Can’t bring myself to wear ballet flats yet! Too cold still! I want my socks!

  4. HI Cyndi,
I had my husband order that purse for me for Christmas (thanks to you) and I absolutely love it! I plan wear it though spring or until you post another I like. …lol

  5. I buy your outfits because it makes getting ready for the day SO much easier!! (Jewelry and all)

Your message of the heart today seemed so relevant… as a divine message. As we all know: God doesn’t make mistakes. Things happen for a reason.

  6. Hi, Cyndi!

I just love the sweater with that adorable skirt you’re wearing. SO CUTE! You always look beautiful and inspire all of us to be our BEST!

Be good to yourself, and get a little REST after all of your running around!

  7. Loved today’s post, Cyndi, because I’m wearing that very same sweater today!! 😄 It looks great with jeans, but since I can’t wear jeans to work, I paired it with some skinny navy corduroy pants.

  8. Yes, love your Amy Kestenberg bag! I’m familiar with her because I always have to check QVC out. I have gotten some great buys on so many things. Their LOGO clothing line is great. Ordered a tunic top and am in love!

  9. Hi Cyndi. I too, loved the post from yesterday. The chicken saying is very common up here in NJ as well ;-). I bought that bag the last time to shared it. It is beautiful and I loved. The color. But I sent it back because of the price. We have Coach outlets around here so I wound up with a similar beg that I love for half the price. I too would love to see your shoe comparisons as well. So exciting about your missions trip!! I know moving is stressful. I’ll be praying for peace for you and Wayne. Did you share with us why you are moving? If you did then I guess I missed it. If not, then I’m sorry I asked. Hope you find the best home for you two! 😉

  10. Yes, way up here in Canada we use that saying! And dare I say growing up on a farm have witnessed the real thing! Love your blog!

  11. Loving your look very much today, Cyndi, and the Aimee Kestenberg bag! I saw that bag on the Q when it was being offered as the TSV and wanted to purchase it, but I wasn’t sure about the leather. The color you have is what I was wanting, too. Handbags are definitely my splurging area! Dooney & Bourke is my favorite but I would love, love, love to have a Celine bag! Ha!

  12. I am so excited for your mission trip to Cuba. I will be praying for you and your team.
I can’t wait for the shoe comparisons. I love shoes just a little too much. I have noticed that a lot of the department stores have boots on sale right now. I was thinking of getting a pair for next year that are kind of classic so they won’t be out of style when I wear them. Do you buy end of season sales?

  13. Hi Cyndi,
I have been following your blog for awhile now, I look forward to what you style each day. The bible versus are so up lifting and always seem to hit home for me.
I’m in sunny So. Cal and we have been in the 90’s for the last week and today it will probably hit 80, so I won’t be wearing a sweater during the day.

I will keep you and your husband in my prayers during your transition, I know selling and moving are no fun especially when there is a contingency.

I am looking forward to the save vs splurge on shoes, I can always find a pair of shoes. I have actual styled a outfit around my shoes!

    Take care

  14. Cyndi,
I’m relatively new to your blog and I LOVE it. I look forward everyday to seeing what you are styling and especially the scripture. Can’t wait to see the shoes you have picked out.

  15. Hi Cyndi,
Believe it or not, Im wearing the same fair isle sweater from Loft today. Great minds must think alike! Have a great but busy day!!!

  16. I bought this bag from QVC after seeing it on one of your earlier post. I was skeptical about the quality due to the price I paid for it…but I Love it! Purchased a Aimee Kestenberg wallet after seeing the quality of the bag.

Plan to get a brighter color for spring!

  17. I love the sweater and skirt together. I’m too hot to ever wear a sweater, but this looks so good on you!!! Thanks so much for the scripture today from Galatians. It’s sad to admit that I do sometimes lose heart in doing good:) I printed this verse and hung it in my office at work!

  18. I bought the sweater and skirt back in December and love them. The sweater has gotten lots of use here in Michigan. Sunny today! Praise the Lord!

  19. As I’ve said before I so enjoy the comments on your blog and yesterday’s was no exception. I think I fall into the “nice” bag for black and brown and still nice but not quite as expensive for color. However, I watch Dillards sale plus an additional 40% off sales for my nice bags. I’d much rather score a $275 bag for $76 than pay full price. I think you can do it with shoes but it’s a bit harder. Good luck on the passport. We got our first ones last year.

  20. My Mother always used to use that term “running around like a chicken with her head cut off” Oh, I don’t envy you dealing with the selling and moving….and with a contingency basis like that, it can take a long time, not fun 🙁

Love the sweater, with they made fair isle sweaters in v-neck, I have broad shoulders and look better in v-neck tops and sweaters.

    1. Perhaps you could try a fair isle cardigan. and just open the first few buttons. Just a thought.
Cyndi, I’m wearing an olive /rust fair isle, but don’t feel I look quite as good as you do in yours! I’ll have to work on styling the “bottom half” a bit better. Thanks for the encouragement.

  21. Hi Cyndi, I love the sweater with the skirt and pants. I have the exact bag from Aimee Kestenberg, it was the Today’s Special Value a few months back. Love it! I have a problem with buying shoes too, this winter it was actually ankle boots. 😊 But they will last a long time and were on sale, so it’s all good. I really enjoy your blog and am looking forward to seeing some pics from your new house. Happy Wednesday!

    Deborah

  22. Hi Cyndi,
I love this sweater worn both ways. Brrr your little ballet flats make me feel cold. The weather here in the UK is wet and cold and I’m sooooo needing
the Spring to come. I’m so bored of my Winter clothes and wrapping up.
Off out to walk my dog, it takes 1/2 hr Ha, to get dressed to brave the elements.
Have a good Wednesday and stay warm.
Ps I only use Leather bags too, not designer just quality and classic, I save in other areas. Not too much in Sumner though you can get away with a cheaper lighter alternative.
