Travel Outfit-What To Wear On A Plane

If you told me a few years ago that I would be flying to Cuba, I would have freaked out. I did not like to fly.

I still don’t love to fly but I do it enough now that it doesn’t bother me like it use to. I have flown several times this year already so I’m kind of getting the hang of it.

On that note, thank you all for praying for our trip. It means so much to me!

I have learned that being comfortable on a flight is a must and these chino pants from Banana Republic are perfect for a travel outfit.

I bought these sandals for my trip because they are comfortable. I purchased them at Marshall’s and I can’t find them online. The brand is born and if you’re looking for comfort, I highly recommend this brand.

I wear jewelry but I can take it off if I need to, they don’t usually make me but you never know.

I carry this Dooney & Burke handbag as an everyday handbag but for my flight I’m carrying a tote  handbag because it’s big enough for my computer.

Beauty For the Heart~~When I am fearful, I read 2 Timothy 1:7, For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

Fear does not come from God. So if you’re feeling fearful today, claim this verse.

Have a blessed day!

  1. Reading your blog is a blessing. I love your fashion selections because they embrace modesty, tasteful expression of femininity and attractiveness in ways that allow a woman to express her essence without the ‘over-sexualised’ influences that constantly pour upon us from many media sources.

My one recommendation about travelwear that that I feel deserves more emphasis, based on my own travel experiences on in airports and on planes is: Never wear sandals or open toe shoes in airports or on planes.

There is a real danger danger of foot injuries ranging from a rushing business traveler with a bag on wheels running over your toes in a crowded airport terminal to a cabinet attendant hitting your foot with a service cart if you sit in an aisle seat, even in first or business class, to a passenger carry-on bag dropping on your foot during the boarding or exiting process from a plane. I am 53 years old and I have traveled many, many times for family vacations, personal leisure with my beloved spouse, and for business ach of these events has happened to me, some more than once. If you look around in airports and on planes you’ll observe that most active airport and airline staff are hardly ever seen wearing open toe shoes or sandals.

When I travel, even on business, at a minimum I wear a pair of flats with closed toes; and I bring along my business shoes in my carry-on.

I love your blog and often read it for style and fashion suggestions.

    Thank you and blessings.

  2. Have a fantastic trip 🙂 Your outfit is similar to what I like to wear when traveling. I like to stay comfortable without being sloppy. One thing that I have found is that a comfy maxi dress can feel like pajamas, but look better 😉

  3. I love the chinos. I was glad I saw the post early in the day and looked at them online before going to the store. The online pricing was $20 cheaper and the store honored the price I could pull up online (PLUS, I had a reward coupon! I love it when that happens!). The fabric is super soft … But they run a little big so check out size slightly smaller than typical. Highly recommend.

  4. I saw the same sandals at TJ Maxx too! Cute, comfy outfit!
I LOVE your beauty for the heart quotes and look forward to them
with every post! Thanks for speaking up for Christian values.

  5. Love your blog Cyndi and thanks for inspiring us ladies to be beautiful on the inside as well as the outside!!!

  6. I agree with Julie Berry–I always keep a pair of fuzzy cotton low cut sport socks in my purse when I fly during summer. Comfy, and keeps the toes warm.
I am praying God’s blessings, and travel mercies for you as you embark on your journey to Cuba!

  7. Hi Cyndi,
You look absolutely adorable and perfect for flying!! Praying for you and your trip to Cuba… God is with you 24-7!

  8. I’ve been praying for you! I have three pair of Born sandals. Love them. Have a great trip and may God keep you safe.

  9. You look great! I’d wear that in a heartbeat! I love your posts so much; down to Earth and inspiring. Have a wonderful time.

  10. Adorable outfit. I just love it. I’m going to check out those pants – are they big in the waist? I’m definitely pear shaped.
Best wishes and blessings on your trip!!

  11. If I wore sandals on an airplane I would FREEZE! It’s also not recommended for safety purposes (putting my airline employee hat on here). I have a Vinyasa scarf from LuluLemon that I take with me on plane trips/vacation – it’s so versatile! Hope you have a great time.

  12. As always, you look great! I have been following you for awhile now and I love your outfits and scripture references. Safe travels and I will be praying for you and your mission team.

  13. I have the same exact pair of sandals from Marshals. can’t pass up a great deal when I see one, haha.

  14. Love your outfit…I am always cold on planes and keep a pashmina or ruwana in my travel bag. I can’t bring myself to use the blankets on planes, and a little pair of socks for cold toes!

  15. This is the perfect travel outfit Cyndi. I like you tote and have seen lots of women carrying it. It just might have to be my next one!! I’m so excited for your trip I know God will use you to bless others in a great way! Praying for you!!

    xx-S
