Beach Vacation Capsule Wardrobe

It’s Tuesday and that means I’m back with another post in our Coast-to-Coast Summer Survival blog hop, and today we’re talking about surviving summer travel.

Today I’m sharing a Travel Light Beach Vacation Capsule Wardrobe. Typically, when we go to the beach, I take more clothes than I need so I wanted to create a capsule wardrobe with pieces I could mix and match.

Here are some ways you can put these pieces together. The only piece I might add to the capsule wardrobe is a casual dress. I would also add some jewelry to my outfits but I would keep my jewelry simple.

What do you think? Could this capsule wardrobe work for a beach vacation?

  1. Oh my goodness! Every year I over pack for the Keys – you really don’t need much. I am copying this capsule, thank you! Love your blog, your Trunk Club post made me laugh this week – Pretty Woman boots! You are a blessing, thanks for sharing your faith and your fashion.

  2. I agree with some of the other comments. A dress! I’m a maxi dress or maxi skirt gal. Not a fan of my legs. They pack really easy too.

  3. I love all the pieces that you’ve shown and agree a casual dress or two would be nice……..especially if you’re going to be gone for a week. I guess if one is planning on spending most of their time at the beach or pool in a swimsuit, these pieces would work. I usually tend to over pack as well just because if you go out sight seeing or some type of activity and get hot and sweaty, additional clothes are needed. I’m not really much on doing laundry on vacation…..lol…..I can do that when I get back to reality! 😉

  4. I would pack a second swimsuit. You’ll spend most of your time in one so a change is nice, plus who likes putting on a still wet suit. Yuck! And, definitely throw in a simple dress for dinners out. Great capsule, Cyndi. Going to check out the other bloggers now.

  5. LOVE this capsule! I always overpack too, even though I tell myself not to. I need to save this somehow. Thanks and love your posts!

  6. We go to Florida twice a year. Spring and fall. So this is great since its summer there year round. And thanks for the reminder to be joyful in all we do. Have a great day

  7. This is great! I don’t know why I pack so much, and then wear the same 5-6 pieces. Really need to keep this in mind, not just for a beach trip, but any trip.

  8. You’re right: a capsule wardrobe would actually be quite sufficient for time at the beach. Of course, I’ve seen how you pack, and I know you’d add a dress and some jewelry and perhaps a good bit more. . . but it’s fun to think about how you might make it with very little if you had to. 🙂

    Love you!

  9. Hi, Cyndi! I’m a new subscriber and thoroughly enjoying your blog! We homeschool and are taking advantage of late-season rate drops at the beach soon, so this post was perfectly timed! Gonna be more conscious of what I pack this time around, thanks to you! Keep up the good work.

  10. This is great, Wish I had seen it before I loaded my biggest suitcase for out vacation to St Simons in July. Maybe this could be a re-post next May for anyone who misses it. Less is definitely more.
PS I am heading to Myrtle Beach in two weeks and my capsule wardrobe will look like this!

  11. We just returned from our vacation at the beach and both my husband and I over packed. We honestly wore bathing suits almost the entire day until evening when going out to dinner. I love the items you’ve chose for this. This is something I struggle with when traveling. I really enjoyed this post.

  12. Nice capsule Cyndi and I appreciate the budget friendly pieces you’ve chosen. So many bloggers offer really cute outfit ideas but they often cost $700-$1500. for just one outfit. Praying for your day to be blessed and God-directed!

  13. Just got back from Florida, and packed clothes I never even wore! I told hubby that from now on, I’d pack very light…and buy what I needed when we get there! Lol

  14. I LOVE the Beach Capsule. I would wear all of the pieces shown. I will have to try and copy this look for my girls trip to Myrtle Beach in a few weeks.

  15. Sure wish I had seen this about 2 weeks ago. We spent last week at the beach and , as usual, I over packed. Not just over packed, but WAAAAY over packed. I like the simplicity of this capsule wardrobe.

I am praying for you this day.

  16. Yes! It definitely could! Sign me up for BOTH (the wardrobe AND the vacation).

Was walking by Abercrombie the other day and made a U-turn when I saw your open-shoulder top in the window! Loved that on you!!!
