Casual Fall Outfit-Cargo Pants

Happy hump day! I can’t believe I’m saying this but it feels a little fallish here today. It’s raining and the temperatures are in the low 70’s.

Well, the men in my life (husband and son-in-law in particular) are going to be glad to know that cargo pants are back in style. Of course my husband never stopped wearing his camo cargo shorts but that’s another story.

These cargo pants from Loft can be dressed up or down. They would look great with a pair of chucks and a white t-shirt.

Casual Fall Outfit-Cargo PantsI dressed mine up  with a pair of peep toe boots and a floral top.

CASUAL FALL OUTFIT-CARGO PANTSThese cargo pants have flap patch side and back pockets with an elasticised bottom cuff.

Casual Fall Outfit-Cargo PantsJust a note, I think after looking at the pics, I would tie the belt in a knot and let it hang down, instead of tying it in a bow.

Beauty For the Heart~~“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:10

Being still is not my nature. If I’m being still, I feel like I’m being lazy. But scripture says we need to be still.

Still….if only for a few moments, and listen for His voice. He will provide the needed wisdom, patience, guidance, and love, we need to have for the day ahead.

Have a blessed day!

  1. Love your chic casual Cargo pants come in many styles and these are really great piece for casual fall. I wear them all the time and to work as well.

  2. I love cargo pants – for casual events. But they are not forgiving for some. Because they are loose and don’t have a tight weave, they will show every lump and bump on a girl’s tush. They don’t hold anything in. I prefer them with a flip flop or sneaker. I think Jennifer Lopez is the only gal that can pull these off dressed up with a heel. ha ha.. Also, I agree with you, no bow in the front.

  3. I like them tied in a bow. Plus, easier to untie when you need to. Is there any elastic in the waist? The Loft site was down when I tried to check. Cute though, and I would definitely try on!

  4. Not a fan of the cargo pants and I don’t think the shoes look right with them. The pants seem too casual for the shoes.

  5. Your devotion today reminds me of the book I am reading from Shauna Niequist – Present Over Perfect. She had to learn to reprioritize and Be Still and it is helping me to learn the same thing! Love this scripture.

  6. Hi Cyndi! After seeing these darling cargo pants on you, I went straight to my Ann Taylor Loft and bought the green pair. These are so comfortable and fit great. I know people are saying they don’t flatter, but I disagree. I think they made me look the same, not heavier. They are so cute on and I’m going to have to order the blue pair because they didn’t have them in stock. Thanks so much for the inspiration and style tips. It makes life so much easier for me!!

  7. I like the outfit on you. I honestly have never tried cargo pants before I like the tappered leg might have to try a pair. Love the quote be still I tell my self that a lot my grandpa use to always tell me that. Thank you!!!!

  8. Love pants so cute
Remind me of straight leg jeans with
    Pockets! Perfect color for fall!
    Coming your way tomm night
Can’t wait to see Louisville !

  9. I agree with the others who are not fans of cargo pants. They just don’t look feminine. They might be good for going fishing…that’s what they remind me of! Haha. But you are cute just the same, Cyndi!

  10. You look great as always but I am not loving this style cargo pant.
May do the cargo style jacket and or best but not y these pants.

  11. You look lovely and stylish is everything , but I agree with previous comments. They emphasize all the wrong places on me! : (

  12. You look cute in them as you do in everything. That being said, I will not even entertain the idea of wearing a pair. I’m a size 8 but would feel like the size of a barn! Just cant do all the pockets and elastic ankles.

  13. I like the casual styling of cargo pants and have found the White House Black Market version of them fits my “mid-life shape” well because they have the zippers but not the puffy pockets. I’ve worn them several times on my blog and seem to get lots of compliments. And I agree with you about your husband still wearing his, mine does the same even though they’re completely frayed at the hem!

  14. Adorable outfit. Comments are correct saying it’s hard to find cargo pants that fit nicely without adding bulk. I found for me the shorter and straight leg style works without looking manly. I like the contrast between the sporty cargo pants with a more feminine top. Going to try that that fall.

  15. That color top looks great on you – It would be a great top for work or to wear out and about. I love cargo pants, but as a curvier gal, agree with the comments above. That hasn’t stopped me trying them on to find a pair though! Thanks for the style tips with the booties. I might be able to pull something like that off on a casual Friday here at work.

  16. I love cargo pants when they were in style before. I think the difference was before the legs where wider and you would were them with boots (pants over the boot) or brown lace up hiking type shoe. The skinny leg and gathered at the bottom is the issue with them. Because cargo pants tend to be more “relaxed fit”, the pegged leg with big pockets are going to make skinny people look heavier. Can you image a fluffy person wearing them?

We all know you are thin and look amazing in tight pegged jeans. I am not a fan of this look. Love the top and shoes! Of course, you are beautiful in that color shirt.

  17. Cute color combo. I agree with the comments above, seems like cargos are hard for most women to pull off, partly where the pockets are and partly the V look of wide to narrow. I have a pair of cargos that don’t taper at the ankle that I wear all the time. Fun to see all the new trends tho!

  18. I think they look great on you, but I feel they make me look larger than I really am. It must be where the pockets hit?

  19. Very cute cargo pants and pretty blouse!! What a coincidence, I happen to post a pic of my hubby and I and I’m in my favorite cargo pants …. from back in 2010. Don’t have those now, but if they are still in style and available for this Fall, I will hunt me a pair! I’m not partial to grays on myself, but love how you paired this with the hot pink!! God Bless you and yes, praying for those in Louisiana, as my son will be traveling there at the end of the month with the railroad for repairs.

  20. They look great on you, but cargo pants seem to just make me look bigger. My husband, also, will be glad to know they are back in!

  21. I love the color combination. I’d like you to try a more fitted top. My first impression was that the top was too bulky for the unstructured cargo pants. Love cargo pants though and glad they are being styled again.

  22. I LOVE these! I wish they had them in tall sizes….I tried them on a while back and they were too short. You look great 🙂
