Trunk Club Unboxing

Hey ladies! Today I’m sharing my latest Trunk Club box. This is such a fun way to shop for clothes. My 26 Days of Fall Fashion starts in a few weeks and I’m trying to find some cute fall clothes to share with you.

Trunk Club UnboxingFirst, for those who aren’t familiar with Trunk Club, it’s a fashion styling service owned by Nordstrom. You actually have your own personal stylist!

She will offer to hop on the phone with you and get to know you and your style before she sends your first Trunk, and you can email or call her at anytime afterward.

All of their merchandise is sourced from Nordstrom, and it is all currently available on the website, so you know you’re getting the latest styles.

You pay exactly what the items are going for on the website, so if something goes on sale before you make your final decision, you will get the sale price. Nice!

Take 10 5 days to try everything on, and then keep what you like and send back the rest. Shipping is free both ways, and you can request a new trunk any time you’d like.

There is a one time $25 styling fee but it can be used towards your purchase (if you don’t purchase anything in your first trunk, the $25 can be use towards another trunk). You schedule your pick up and UPS comes right to your front door. Trunk Club also includes tape to tape up your box before sending it. It’s so easy!

Even if you like to shop, this is a great way to discover products you might not otherwise choose for yourself.

But, it is ideal for those who are too busy to shop or who don’t like to shop. Your stylist will work with you to find styles that work for you and fit your budget.

Let’s get started!

Theory Tile Check Long Jacket (size small)-I’m a sucker for a coat and I loved this one. It felt so good on and I knew this was going to be a keeper, until I saw the $585 price. (I cried, not really but I wanted to, it’s going back.)

Trunk Club Unboxing

Madewell ‘Ex Boyfriend’ Plaid Shirt (size small)-I like this shirt, it’s soft and fits good. I’m on the fence about this one.

Trunk Club UnboxingHinge Lace Inset Knit Top (size small)-This is a no, too thin and I have a ton of off white tops.

Trunk Club UnboxingHalogen Long Side Slit Cardigan (size xs )and Halogen Long Sleeve Turtleneck (size small)-I really like the cardigan so I’m thinking about keeping it. I also like the turtleneck but I’m not sure if I will keep it.

Turtlenecks are a classic piece and always in style when the weather gets cold but this year they are also trendy.

Trunk Club Unboxing
Steve Madden Gleemer Over the Knee Boot-I’m a huge fan of over the knee boots but these looked too much like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. They’re are going back.

Trunk Club Unboxing
Halogen Rib Knit Wool Blend Cardigan (size small)-This is another great cardigan. This might be a keeper!

Trunk Club UnboxingEquipment ‘Leema’ Pocket Detail Stripe Cotton Shirt (size small)-This shirt was snug around the hip area so I had to unbutton the last button. It’s a super cute top but it’s pricey ($198). This one is going back.

Trunk Club Unboxing
NYDJ Long Sleeve Mix Print Blouse (size small)-This one was okay but I didn’t love it so it’s going back.

Trunk Club Unboxing
Ivanka Trump ‘Lettie’ Pointy Toe Bootie-These are really cute and I definitely have a love for shoes. Not sure if I’ll keep them or send them back.

Trunk Club UnboxingI also got this Kate Moss Equipment Crewneck Cashmere Sweater but I didn’t love the look and at $318 it’s going back.

Have you tried the Trunk Club? What would you keep from the items I styled?

  1. WAY too rich for my taste. There are other ways to shop, ladies. Your classic pieces and layering pieces should be staples in your wardrobe but to keep receiving pieces over $75 and $100? It’s not like all those styles will stay in fashion. JMO. 🙂 Probably great for some that have money, tons of closet space, and want a huge wardrobe of expensive clothes. I’d prefer to divide up my money for experiences, trips, romantic dinners with my husband and keep the classic pieces of my wardrobe the expensive pieces – that remain timeless. But simple tops/sweaters/jackets, even shoes, etc., don’t have to be that expensive. Have a great day!

  2. Hi!
I also do Stitch Fix, but just signed up for Trunk Club. I was told however, by my stylist that there IS a $25 fee, but it’s just like stitch fix in that it goes towards anything that you purchase.
I’m excited though to get started because I think that I’ll get better selections and quality from Nordstrom.
And, in your above outfits-I absolutely LOVE the cardigans!
I’d like to know where you got the black pants too. They are gorgeous and I’m such a sucker for a great pair of black pants!

  3. I’m in love with Trunk Club! Much better quality clothing than Stitch Fix and I like the fact that I pay no styling fee. My stylist always sends surprises in my trunk, which is so much fun! My favorite way to shop these days!

  4. Hi Cyndi, just an FYI, I just received an email from the Trunk Club a couple of days ago that we will now only have 5 days to try things on and send back, not 10. This will make it difficult as they do send 15 items to try on and decide whether or not to keep. 😁

  5. Me again Ha ha Cyndi I see where you answer questions the girls ask you. I have ask you several questions and I haven’t gotten any reply from you. Maybe there is a internet problem? just thought I would let you know so maybe you can check it out. Thank’s !!

    1. Hi Deana!! I’m so sorry, I try to answer all the questions but I know I miss some of them. Obviously I missed your questions several times. Yikes!

As far as the trunk club, I think you can ask for items under a $100. That seems reasonable. You can always try it. There’s no penalty for sending everything back and you aren’t out a dime.

Hope that helps and thanks so much for stopping by my blog!
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  6. I first was all on board with the trunk club, until you shared the $ of some of the clothes. I wear levis, and do not mind to pay, I buy at a outlet for them. But, I don’t want to play dress up that I know I can’t keep most or all of them. I would look at the $ first and then I wouldn’t try it on if it was over my $ . Can you ask for a price range like Under $100 ? If you could do that, then I would think about it a little more. I too Loved the coat, I Love coat’s, don’t have enough haha !! have a good weekend !!

  7. Hi Cyndi,
now… let’s talk about that coat! Yes, it’s expensive, however, I think WE could justify buying it. is it good quality? how much wear would you get out of it? Do you think you could get early Christmas, valentines or birthday money?? could you budget it in? last but not least..a word from the LORD..SOLD! 😉

  8. Trunk Club stated that the average price of the items were $160. Ouch! Love those long cardigans on you. They are very flattering.

  9. I too liked many of the pieces you styled today but I honestly cannot justify spending that amount of money for clothing right now (I’ve got 3 in college!!). I do love your style though and have bought several pieces from H&M, Gap, Loft and Old Navy that you’ve posted.
Please don’t forget those of us on a budget!!!❤️❤️

  10. i love those clothes! But I also love shopping and finding good bargains, I will take those ideas and find them at a Goodwill, Savers, or consignment store ….. for a much better price . Thank you for posting , because I love your ideas and style!!

  11. Love the kindness post, so true that you never know what someone is going through and what a kind word can do. As for the Trunk Club and Stich Fix, I think they know woman only to well…once we have it in our hands and we like it then it’s extremely difficult to send back, even if we really don’t need it. I’d rather suffer through shopping when I have an actual need then to have someone send me items I’ll perceive that I need after putting them on. Why put myself in the Lion’s Den? Helps me be a better steward of God’s money. And frankly those prices are crazy, in the hundreds for shirts and sweaters! Not in my world. But, in keeping with the kindness theme, Cindy you are beautiful in Target or Nordstrom 🙂

      1. Thanks Gema……have a blessed day. And Cyndi…sorry for misspelling your name the first time around. You’re a beautiful spirit-filled woman.

    1. Debbie, I do think once we have it, it can be hard to send back but it’s not hard for me to send back a $585 coat. I think if you read through the comments, a lot of women appreciate the service. I understand it’s not for everyone and what one person will pay for something someone else would not pay.
      Thank you for your kindness!!
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  12. Can I ask a question about the mirror you have? I’ve been looking for a leaning, floor mirror. It looks like it is a nice size too. Thank you.

  13. Either I just now noticed, or you just now did it… You switched your part!
I’ve been trying to do that more often myself, it makes a big difference with the body and lift of my hair.
Your hairstyle makes me want to cut bangs, I’ve toying with the idea all summer long but can’t commit.
Can’t wait for your next ‘Hair’ post.

    1. Hey Barbara, I didn’t switch my part, I think it looks different because I’m taking the picture in the mirror. 🙂
I am going to talk about hair next week.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  14. I have tried both Stitch Fix and Trunk Club, i like Trunk Club better , since there is no stylist fee and i like the quality of clothes , at least from what i have received , better from Trunk Club . That being said the Trunk Club clothes are more expensive and that is just the way it is , they are from Nordstrom. So to buy once every 3-6 months i dont mind

  15. Ooo I do sooo love to try on new clothing.. but these prices are way out of what I would want to spend on clothes even if I had the moolah to spend…. I’m a lady that loves sales, discounts, and bye one-get one, but if an item catches my eye, looks great, and I have the money, then it’s mine. LOL Out of all your clothes, I like the first coat on you the best. Very distinguished and refined, for such a lady as you! God Bless you today!

  16. Love, love, love the long check jacket. Oh, but the price. 😢 I would be so tempted yo keep that one myself. It is a classic so you could wear it for years to come. I
liked both long sweaters and the turtleneck. The tops – not so much. The leopard on the denim shirt would be classy if on the cuffs, so when you turn them up it shows. The rest of the tops were just “ok”. I didn’t like the OTK boots at all. Your Julia Roberts comment made me laugh.

If that is your new dressing room – wow! It’s huge! It’s just what you need to set up for your almost daily fashion shows.i always look forward to your posts. You have great taste.

  17. This was a fun post 🙂 The check coat was sooooo perfect for you Cyndi, darn wish it wasn’t so expensive. The side slit sweater looked great on you too. I’m not a shopper so I love this idea but I think I’d end up sending a lot of items back because the price is too high. Kindness is always good, share some today……

  18. LOVE the Halogen Rib Knit Wool Cardigan on you, and the SHOES!!!!! Those are not mentioned in your post though… Will you please share details about the shoes??? Looking FAB as ALWAYS!!!!

    Adriana

  19. This may be an interesting shopping option but I’m worried I would want to keep some of the over priced items lol
Also loved the tan booties everyone is asking about? Thanks for sharing and have a great day!

  20. Too bad the coat is so expensive, because it is such a perfect cut, with quality tailoring and you wear it so well. Living in Canada, a good coat is a very, very important part of the wardrobe. However, for you, if it is not a piece you will wear daily throughout the winter, then sending it back is a good decision. Thanks for the information on the Nordstrom trunk club; hopefully when Nordstrom comes to Canada, they will bring that service with them! Warm regards from Canada, Donna.

    1. Hi Dnna! Nordstrom is in Canada. They have a store in The West Edmonton mall, Rideau Centre in Ottawa, Vancover ( huge ) and Toronto. Not sure if they offer that service though.

  21. I love Trunk Club! My biggest problem is that my stylist is SO GOOD at picking out clothes for me that I usually wish that I could keep most of it! Unfortunately, my bank account says just pick out a few items and send the rest back. Boo! They recently changed the return policy to 5 days, instead of the 10 we’re used to. That’s ok…still works for me. I don’t have a lot of time for shopping, so Trunk Club is a big winner in my book!

  22. I loved the idea, until I saw the prices. YIKES. I often find the prices on Stitch Fix to be high, I might keel over with this service. 🙂 But the Long Jacket is indeed super cute.

    1. Oh my goodness…completely agree 100%! $198 for a cotton button down! YIKES is right. Please offer more cute clothes at affordable prices. Thanks.

  23. Okay, this is something I may be able to get onboard with…BUT, I LOVE to shop so I just don’t know. I too think that coat is beautiful, but I too would have to send it back as that is way out of my price comfort zone! I really like both of the cardigans, and the shirt with the leopard pocket is cute, but again too pricey. You’ve definitely planted a seed in my brain on this one, especially since we don’t have a Nordstrom near us in Knoxville.
Thanks as always Cyndi! BTW – the blouse I see hanging in the background is pretty – excited to see you style that one :).
Kindness is the easiest gift to give per my momma. She was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known.

  24. I like the plaid shirt and the rib knit cardigan. You know, these services can be hit or miss. I think you do great choosing your own styles. I do think you wear “Glamour Farms” pieces well. I’m looking forward to your Fall days of fashion. ~Lisa~

  25. I want to know about the cognac peep toe bootie you are wearing in the first pictures with the expensive plaid jacket? I love it?
    Where is it from?
And I agree, I LOVE the jacket too, but I just could not justify the price!

  26. Thank you for your posts. I needed to hear have patience as I’m struggling to do that right now. Your posts are always an inspiration for me to become my best self. Thank you and have a blessed day!!

    1. Donna the prices ranged from $59 to $585. You can tell your stylist a price range you are willing to pay. Of course, this is not Target so you’re not going to get a lot of $50 and under clothes.
I think you get between 10 to 15 items. They do send you an email before sending it and you can say no to any items you know you are not going to want.
      Hope that helps!
      cyndi

  27. Cyndi, Do you prefer the Trunk Club or Stitch Fix? I’m considering both and I would be curious which you prefer. By the way, I agree with Melanie W. I love the turtleneck and side slit sweater!

    1. Teresa I am leaning toward liking Trunk Club better. There is no styling fee and they send you quite a few options. Plus they are pieces I can share on my blog and people can purchase if they want them.
      Hope that helps!
      Cyndi

  28. Cyndi, I also use trunk club and received a recent email that says we now only have 5 days to return the merchandise. That’s a bummer because it was so nice to have the extra time in comparison to the policy of stitch fix(which I cancelled). I still like the service and could not believe how many things my stylist sent me the first time I ordered.

  29. I actually really love the turtleneck and side slit sweater. I think it looks great on you. If you are on the fence, my opinion is keep it! 🙂
