Fall Fashion-Striped Poncho with Brown Booties

Welcome to my 26 Days of Fall Fashion. Today I’m styling a striped poncho from Loft. I’m never sure if I like ponchos or not. They’re one size fits all and can sometimes feel too big.

This striped poncho is thin so it doesn’t feel bulky. I layered it over a gray mock turtleneck. Our weather is cool enough and I was able to wear this outfit to bible study last night.

Fall Fashion-Striped Poncho with Brown BootiesThe ends of the poncho are frayed and it hangs longer in the back. I purchased this poncho during Loft’s 40% off sale. Hopefully it will be on sale again soon!

Fall Fashion-Striped Poncho with Brown BootiesI’m wearing skinny jeans from Glamour Farms. These are a layering jean with faux front pockets.

Fall Fashion-Striped Poncho with Brown BootiesI’m wearing a cold shoulder top from Macy’s under the poncho. It’s the Style & Co. brand and it’s on sale!

Fall Fashion-Striped Poncho with Brown BootiesI found several Style & Co. tops from Macy’s. The quality is good and the price is even better!

Fall Fashion-Striped Poncho with Brown BootiesThese ankle boots are from Target. They are comfortable and I love the added tassel. I also like mixing gray (my top) and brown (my boots) together.

Beauty for the Heart~~Yesterday I was looking up scripture verses on forgiveness and I found this quote.

The first to apologize is the bravest. The first to forgive is the strongest. And the first to forget is the happiest. ~Author Unknown

Forgiveness is never easy especially if the person who has hurt you doesn’t even ask for forgiveness. Ephesians 4:32 says, Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Have a blessed day!

  1. I just recently found your blog. I am really loving it. I still work, teaching school. You wear a lot of jeans, but I am not allow to wear jeans to work. I would love to see more outfits without jeans.
    Thanks,
    Lauren

  2. I love ponchos as I have a boho side to my style and ordered this one recently. I had heard that you had styled it ,so came to check it out. The jury will be out on whether this is too much for my 5’3′ frame. I do like the way you’ve styled it here. I am picturing it with a white top, any other suggestions on what to wear with it??

  3. So Cyndi I loved the top you have on today so I stopped at our Macy’s after work & bought a black one! ( Tulsa OK)! I wanted the gray one but they only had black & navy. It was way cuter on than on the hanger. This is my first “open shoulder” top. I look forward to your daily emails. I feel like I know you personally LOL!!!

  4. I like that this poncho seems to have arm holes, which makes it a lot more workable. On me it would look like a sack of potatoes — but on you … well, it’s ADORABLE! 🙂

  5. I love the poncho look for fall! This one looks fab on you. I just ordered a black and gray hooded one from Belk and am hoping the ‘one size fits all’ is going to work for me. Macy’s sale is exceptional this week. I already ordered several sweaters and shirts, then found out I had $30.00 Macy’s Money in my account that I have to use by October 2nd. Looks like I’ll be doing a little more shopping-lol. Thanks for sharing this gorgeous autumn look!

  6. The sale on that cold-shoulder goes off Oct. 2nd. It’s adorable and comes in many colors! Thanks for showing us how cute it can look!!! As always, you are an inspiration!

  7. I wish I could hang out with you, have coffee and talk about the Lord. You are so transparent and have such wisdom about walking with God in real life. Thank you! I’ve started forwarding your emails to my husband and he looks forward to your scriptures and thoughts.

  8. Love the boots and the cold shoulder top. I don’t think ponchos are the best look for me, but it looks great on you. I look forward to your email every morning, so I was very disappointed that I didn’t get one yesterday. Also loved the Beauty for the Heart today. Forgiving when you are wronged is very difficult but as a follower of Christ that’s what we are to do. Hope you have a great weekend.

  9. I think ponchos can be a great layering almost as a jacket.
They may not always be the most flattering pieces, but they can go over bulkier pieces (like my fur vest) without struggles!!
I love the colors in this one.
I have to ask? For the cut out shoulders….do you find your shoulders get cold, or not really because everything else is covered?
Thanks for being such a great inspiration Cyndi!

    1. My shoulders have not gotten cold but it isn’t cold here yet. I don’t know if I can wear this in January. I think I can wear them for several more months.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  10. You ALWAYS look adorable… such a beautiful style!! I love the poncho on you. The entire outfit looks perfect. I’m not sure I could pull off the poncho, but it looks really great on you.

  11. I love ponchos on everyone but me, ha!! I do really like this on you, especially how all the colors work together. So pretty!

    1. I have to join with those who aren’t sure about ponchos… for me it’s partly because of the bulky/flowy look and partly because it’s not real practical for Colorado winters. I’ve yet to grab hold of the cold shoulder look, maybe just a bit too trendy for me. But … I do like the colors and how you put this outfit and LOVE the booties! As usual, thanks for giving us options, Cyndi!

  12. I like it – BUT I feel the same way about ponchos, they’re a good idea, but I never know if it really looks good on me. Those are cute boots – I may have to check those out :). Heading to Nashville next week shopping with my daugher and excited to shop at Macy’s and Nordstrom – Yippeeeeeeee!!!
