Ruffled Jacket from Macy’s

Happy Columbus Day! I am back home from Georgia and everything went pretty smooth except that I left my computer charger in my hotel room so I have to make a run to the Apple store this morning.

I hate that I left it, but truthfully my husband and I were surprised the one I had was still charging my computer.

I drove to my daughter’s house a few weeks ago with my cord hanging out my car door (typical me!) and it looked horrible and we knew it was on its last leg.

So as soon as I finish this post, I’m going to head out the door before my computer completely dies on me.

Anyway, I shared this picture on Instagram. This is the outfit I wore to the conference. Several women asked about my ruffled jacket.

It’s from Macy’s and it’s the Free People Brand. This brand is a little pricey but I thought the jacket was so cute and perfect for speaking in public.

On a good note, it’s on sale and Free People doesn’t go on sale often. The blouse underneath my jacket is Free People too and is also on sale.

The blouse could be worn without the jacket and be super cute. I think the jacket would be cute with a black turtleneck too.

For my drive home yesterday, I went for comfort and this Gap blouse is one of my favorites. Of course, this color is completely sold out but they do have the green and blue color still in stock. I was hoping they would restock this blouse.

I’m also wearing my Sam Edelman nude flats. I wear these all the time when I am traveling because they are so so comfortable.

  1. How long does it take you to fix your hair, from drying time to rollers to final spritz of hairspray? I’m thinking of growing my hair longer and curious what time commitment I’ll be looking at in the mornings. I think my hair is similar in thickness and texture to yours. Thanks and love your blog. I’m a long time follower 🙂

    1. Hi!! I think it takes me about 40 minutes?? That’s with my rollers in while I’m putting on my makeup. It’s pretty easy.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

  2. I really like both outfits. I’m all about comfort. I think you always like nice and very well put together. Are your boots ankle boots and where would I find them. I’m looking for grey ankle boots and noticed yours. Thank you for your quotes and sharing with all of us. 😊

  3. Since you mention a ‘black turtleneck’ in your post, it’s a perfect time to ask a Q I’ve been wondering about. I cleaned out some looser-fitting turtlenecks from my closet last year and haven’t replaced any. At the time I thought, “No one wears them anymore!”
Could you please recommend a few reasonably priced black turtles and give some details on their styling? Thanks!

    1. Karen I’ll try to get that in a post soon. I love black turtlenecks so it should be easy for me to do. I’ll definitely include reasonably priced ones.
      Thanks!
      Cyndi

  4. Both adorable outfits. I’ve been searching for some cute very basic comfortable flats so I think I’ll check those out.

I have a question about the Monet hair products. I really would like to try them and was hoping they have a smaller size – like a travel size available to buy and try to see how I like them (before spending a lot on the big bottles). I called the company last week and kept getting a recording that they weren’t open – even thought it was midday – and sent an email to the address on the recording but it’s gotten returned to me as undeliverable. Do you know if they have a smaller sample size I can order?
    thank you!

      1. Thank you! I think they call it Fawn on the FP website. There is an extra discount for Columbus Day, plus free shipping at Macys dot com YEAH!

  5. Good morning, Cyndi – I just want to say I love seeing your emails in my mailbox each morning. You are darling and so positive. And, this 50 something gets a lot of great ideas from your outfits! I feel blessed to have discovered your blog. Best, Julie

  6. Both outfits are SSSooooo cute!!!! Hope your conference was recorded and you’ll share it!!!! I hope you’ll come to Alabama one day!!!Blessings!!

  7. Darling Jacket Cyndi! I want to share with your readers that the other day I was in Macy’s to purchase a couple pairs of new jeans. I learned from the Clerk that for a 5.00 donation to the Breast Cancer Foundation, I could get 25% off my total purchase including their top name brands such as Coach, Dooney & Bourke, Kut from the Cloth and NYDJ, etc.. Macy’s coupons are never accepted on these brands but giving a donation is a way to receive a discount plus it’s for a good cause. The offer is valid through October. If anyone is in the market for top designer brands, when normally discount coupons aren’t accepted, here’s a chance to score!

  8. Not a big fan of the jacket(I don’t care for ruffles) but it looks good on you. But I looooooovvvvve those booties!!!!!

  9. When I saw that jacket on you on Instagram I said WOW! So cute- love it! I’m searching for some dark work appropriate jeans so may have to try these from WHBM. You look beautiful as always! And, I just want you to know what a blessing your blog is to me – I look forward to you and your encouragement everyday.

  10. Cindy I couldn’t help but notice how nervous you look in the first picture before your talk and how relaxed you look in the picture after your talk. Bless your heart! You look fabulous in both outfits and I just love you and your blog-you are my inspiration when I just can’t seem to put an outfit together.

    1. Debbie I wasn’t nervous, I just had a more serious look but I did have a tooth problem and that’s what was bothering me. I’ll explain more about that in a future post.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  11. I love the outfit with the jacket. What size jacket do you have on? Does it run true to size? Thanks and have a blessed day!

  12. You look great, as usual! Did you know that your hair is on Pinterest??? I was looking for a hairstyle to show my stylist and you showed up!!! 🙂

  13. You look very trendy in that outfit. My 20 year old daughter loves Free People and for her birthday just last weekend, we found a Free People dress on sale at Macy’s and I was also able to use a coupon, so boy was I happy about that “thank you, Jesus” Also, those Joe Jeans are such a good fit on you. I will have to try them on next time I’m at Nordstrom’s Rack. Thanks for sharing and have a great day!
