Lace Cold Shoulder Tunic

Happy Friday! Fall is in the air and we are having family over this weekend so I have some hot apple cider on my menu. Yum!

Today I’m styling a lace cold shoulder tunic from Glamour Farms. This is such a pretty feminine top that can be styled several ways.

First I styled the lace tunic with black jeans and peep toe booties. I also added some big silver earrings.

Many of you ask about wearing leggings. I love leggings and these black denim leggings from Glamour Farms are going to be my go to leggings for fall and winter.

I am 5’6″ and I have long legs so I like my tunics a little longer with leggings or I could wear a tall black boot. If you are shorter than me, this tunic will work great with leggings.

Beauty For the Heart~~Years ago, Wayne and I read the book, The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. I highly recommend this book to married couples.

We each have a love language and we share our love language with our spouse. But if that’s not their love language they’re aren’t feeling loved.

Wayne’s love language is words of affirmation. You would know that very quickly if you were around him. He tells me he loves me and how beautiful he thinks I am all day long. But that’s not my love language.

My love language is acts of service. So when he empties the dishwasher or folds the laundry I feel loved. And when I tell him I love him and he’s an amazing husband and father, he feels loved.

Anyway, marriage is not easy and we have worked hard to have a good one but it’s worth it. Do something extra special for your spouse today. Let them know you love them!

Have a blessed day!

  1. I love that you styled it with leggings and with skinny jeans. Good to keep that detail in my back pocket 🙂 I’ve read tons of Gary Smalley’s books, yeah I’m Words of Affirmation too 🙂
    You look beautiful!

  2. Love the top and the way you’ve styled it. Funny I was talking at lunch today how 3 of my children share the love language of quality time and how nothing is better than sitting in bed with them all around just chatting away. I also mentioned how much i love that when they do cleaning up without my having to ask that I feel over the moon happy!

  3. Really like the tops on you not sure I would look as good. I love the look of pants and your opened toe shoes. Have a great time with your grandson. I’m having my granddaughters tomorrow for the day. I can’t wait. Thank you for sharing. 😊

  4. Hi, Cyndi!
I think the first tunic looks best – probably because you are wearing a bit of a heel with it… No matter what outfit you choose, each day I look forward to your fashion blog more than any other — What will Cyndi be wearing today?!! You are always beautiful, both inside and out!

  5. I like the style of the tunic but I agree, too bulky or something? Maybe if it was a different fabric is would lay softer, just my opinion.

  6. I’m loving the peep toe booties in the first frame, but the link is to the Lucky Flats. Can you tell me where I can get those fun shoes? Loved the Beauty for The Heart today!

  7. If only the tunic weren’t cold shoulder. Just can’t get into the trend. The burgundy color is amazing.

  8. Loving you Cyndi but the tunic, not so much! I agree, with other comments, it’s just too cutesy and too much material for your small frame. I’m not a fan of the cold shoulder trend at all and maybe that’s why it isn’t appealing to me. But that’s the wonderful thing about trends, there’s always other styles to choose from!

Enjoy your little Colt and your Hubby. Spouses and grandchildren; two precious relationships God’s given us to nurture and love on!

  9. You have the whole “southern hospitality thing” going on and I think the tunic plays into that very well. You are so beautiful inside and out. I appreciate the reminder to do something nice for our spouses.

  10. Dear Cindy, you are a very lovely lady. Inside and out.
Sorry, I don’t like the tunic. Too much material. You are zo slim,
you could show more curves. But you look great anyway.
    Have a nice weekend.

  11. Thanks for the reminder about our husbands, how easily we forget they are what started it all! Appreciate the reminder to re-focus on him. As for the tunic, not loving it. Way too much material, it almost makes you look pregnant and that’s hard to do since you’re so tall and thin 🙂 I can’t imagine it on someone short or petite. I like the cold shoulder look but for me it’s getting old. And, my husband doesn’t seem to like it…..finds it funny. Why would anyone want to pay for a blouse with holes at the shoulder ? Anyway, as always you shine from within so it really doesn’t matter what you wear……you’re all about my first love, Jesus, and that is a beautiful thing. Blessings.

  12. Thanks for the little reminder to pay attention to the one we love the most. We are so busy getting on with our daily lives that we sometimes forget that they need to know that we love and appreciate them.

  13. Love leggings and tunics but not a fan of this tunic. No offense, but it seems too cutesy and something a little more sophisticated seems more your style. You always look beautiful. Love the message about marriage and doing something special for each other.

  14. Love it; bought it!!! One of my very favorites!!! We have done the 5 Love Languages, but i think its time for a refresher course!!! LOL Many blessings!!!

  15. Thanks for the reminder about our husbands. My works shift work four days on then four days off and then nights. I try not to give him to much to do. But he helps out anyway. We try to do a date day. Sometimes. It helps. This Monday is his birthday I will be making his favorite pie pumpkin. Bless you. And thanks for the message. Have fun with the grandkids.

  16. Love your advice re: love languages! That’s so true. And it’s great to gain insight about the ways we are all different. I like the way you do that with fashion as well. Your latest Stitch Fix post showed that you didn’t care for everything that you received. You look good in so many different styles, but you don’t like all of it and you don’t feel good in all of it, and THAT’S THE WAY IT SHOULD BE. We are all different, praise God!

While this particular cold-shoulder top doesn’t particularly appeal to me, I did love the black one from Target you featured a few weeks ago. I wore it last night for a date night and Jack just loved it on me. He said, “When you wear that, I don’t really notice the clothes, I notice YOU.” Thank you for sharing a variety so that we can all learn from you! 🙂

  17. I agree with Gloria that this would be too much for those with a petite stature, lots going on with lace, cold shoulder, and ruffles. As always, you pull this off beautifully.

  18. I absolutely love that top, Cyndi! I think it is one that you can dress up for special occasions or down for more casual times. I like the black better than the red though. We did a series on love languages at our church, and I found it very helpful to realize that like you and Wayne, my husband and I have completely different love languages.

  19. Wow, I need to read that. My husband and I are just the opposite of you and yours. It would’ve been so helpful to have understood things like this earlier on. Thanks for this, Cyndi.
And I adore both tops on you! So so pretty!

  20. I love the tunic, but I do think it looks a little junior (ish). I love my husband dearly, but our love languages are completely opposite! My husbands is acts of love and mine is everything else!!! We both stink at the other love languages…but somehow still make it work!:)

  21. These are so pretty!! I love the cold shoulder trend and i have been buying a lot of them. Do you feel this trend will stay in this winter? We live in Illinois and I am not sure about wearing them in the cold months. Could you show us tips to style in for the winter months?

  22. The tunics are gorgeous on you !!!! I really like your style and you wear it all well. Thank you for the reminder to do something extra special for my spouse. ~Lisa~

  23. Its a beautiful tunic but might be too much material for a petite person. I like it best worn with the black wedge booties. Enjoy you time with your grandson, I can’t wait to have grand-kids some day!

  24. My husband and I have the exact same “love languages” as you and Wayne. When he asks, “What can I do to help?” or “Is there anything else I can do to help?”, that just melts my heart! His love language is words of affirmation in anything he does . . .work, family, etc. It’s taken us 40 years and lots of trials, but we have finally figured it out!
    Thanks for sharing!

  25. Thank you for the reminder to Love our husbands and to do something for them today. I think I will make a batch of my pumpkin muffins tonight for my husband. I also have a grandson who is 6 years old. I will be spending time with him this weekend too I wanted to thank you for the Post a few months ago about Play-Dough. I purchased it at that time and it has been a big hit with my Grandson. It is hard to find toys for him would you have any other suggestions in that area? Praying for you as you travel and do all the things you do. May God Bless you!

  26. Thank you for the reminder to do something special for my spouse today! I think I will make his favorite cookies and clean up his storage room! (Not that I would benefit from either of those! wink/wink) Love the long tops with skinny jeans or leggings. You look adorable as always!
