Striped Poncho with Fringe Hem

Happy Friday! Ponchos are quite popular this fall and today I’m styling a striped poncho with fringe hem. I added some over the knee boots to complete the look.

Fashion blogger, Cyndi Spivey, styling a striped poncho from Glamour Farms Boutique.I love a poncho but many of the ones I have tried on have too much material. This striped poncho is not overwhelming and is comfortable enough to wear all day.

Beauty For the Heart~~Being in a hurry. Getting to the next thing without fully entering the thing in front of me. I cannot think of a single advantage I’ve ever gained from being in a hurry. But a thousand broken and missed things, tens of thousands, lie in the wake of all the rushing…. Through all that haste I thought I was making up time. It turns out I was throwing it away.” -Ann Voscamp

This weekend, let’s slow down and enjoy some of the simple things in life! Savor those quiet moments, hug someone a little tighter, write a thank you note, live each moment trusting in God.

Have a blessed day!

  1. I love this! May I ask how tall you are? I’m 5’3″ and a size 2 but I’m afraid this might look like a blanket on me. It looks so good on you and I’m tempted to order it. Sometimes I wish I had a few more inches on me.

  2. My heart feels happy with the slow down message! Gotta see if Glamour Farms can get that poncho to Canada! I think Cyndi u r posting more comments because you have no car and u r stuck at home! Ha. Love it…and this blog!!

  3. Love this poncho. When I was a kid my mom crocheted a poncho (think of a giant granny square) and even living in the Bay Area of California I froze. This one looks warm.

  4. I would love to have a sample of your diet. You mentioned you started to eat cleaner and I’m struggling with my weight.

  5. I’ve always wondered who takes the pictures that you use on your blog posts? They are always good and with lovely backgrounds.

  6. When you are 5″1′, it’s hard to wear ponchos and over the knee boots😕 but look really cute on someone taller like you, Cyndi!

  7. I bought this poncho before you styled it. I check GF website each day & I snatched it up the 1st day it was available.

  8. I love your quote today. It is so true especially when our children are young. Mine are all grown with little ones of their own. So many times I wish I could go back and enjoy those day mine were still little

    1. This is my wish as well. So busy being busy, I feel like I missed so many things with my children who are all grown up now.

  9. Love the poncho look and agree with you about this is the perfect amount of fabric.

I have a challenge for you…I love the look of the plaid button up shirts this fall. What I am not loving is having pockets on the chest. Have you had any success with this look?

  10. Cyndi, I love the striped poncho & the knee high boots. Will you please tell me the care instructions for the poncho! That is something I need to know before I order it. Good luck with your vehicle! We are so dependent on them, aren’t we. Your Beauty For the Heart really speaks to me. The first week of December Larry begins chemo then early next week then a transplant in early 2017.
    Have a blessed day!

      1. Thank you Jamie! My mom just died on May 5, so this has already been a tough year, but I know God is taking each step with me.

    1. Hand Wash Cold, Hang To Dry. They always share the care instructions on their website. I will wash it on delicate and then hang to dry.
I will keep you and your husband in my prayers. You have had quite a bit going on in your life in the last few years. Praying you feel His peace during this time.

  11. I love this outfit. I’m growing my hair out little longer too. I’ve always had it short in a stacked Bob. My sons car broke down Wednesday. It had to be towed to the shop. The shop can not look at. It until next Wednesday. He is borrowing mine to go to work. I hate not having my car.

  12. I’m soooo excited! I bought this poncho before I even saw you styling it! It is so cute! I wore it to church last Sunday and about burned up…I’m so looking forward to cool/cold weather so I can wear it all the time!!!

  13. Too bad you couldn’t have gotten a ‘loaner’ at your service station. It’s terrible to be without a vehicle.

  14. Cyndi, I do t know what you are doing, but you look younger every year and somehow even taller! I love your style, but I like it better when you wear things from local retail stores, instead of online. I never have luck ordering clothes 🙁

  15. Love the striped poncho and boots. Here in MN we have been having such wonderful weather (60’s) that I have not entertained the thought of boots yet. I am holding out for the rest of November to be in the 60’s so that way winter won’t be so long, (giggle giggle.

Wish I were local to come to Macy’s. I have several VB bags and love each one of them. Enjoy your day and have fun!

  16. I just bought that same poncho last week!!!! from another online store!!! love it! I will have to try with over the knee boots though!! great look!
