Holiday Party Style-Winter Fashion

Welcome back to my 25 Days of Winter Fashion! I have gotten several emails asking about a dressier holiday party style. Nordstrom has a great selection of dresses that are perfect for the upcoming holiday season.

(Don’t forget we are giving away a $100 Nordstrom gift card here to help you with your holiday shopping!)

Many of the evening dresses are sleeveless which are hard for me to wear because I freeze. This black dress is obviously a compromise because it’s not sleeveless but it is a cold shoulder.

We recently talked about not wearing heavy earrings but I do love big earrings. These are big but not heavy, score! They add instant glam to any outfit.

These are Sam Edelman and they run slightly small so I recommend ordering a half size up.

Sam Edelman shoes are one of my favorite brands and Nordstrom has a large selection to choose from.

  1. This is a very classy look on you and you look stunning! Yes, when my mind is going I also wake up around 4 am or sometimes 2:30 am!

  2. Wow, just wow!! By the time I saw this it was all sold out in my size, but you look amazing in it. Love the red shoes too! I also tried the Lobe Wonder and will never go without them again. I have 1 ear that has stretched more than the other an was constantly bending my earrings to get them to hang the same length, this solves my problem – I’ve been using it on just my one ear – It’s AWESOME! Love you, love your posts. Blessings to you and your entire family (I follow Traci too)

  3. Simply beautiful!!! You look great. I wake up to around 4 get up get a lot done sometimes best part of the day. Have a great day and thank you!! 😊

  4. This is one of my favorite looks on you! You exude grace and elegance!
So glad I’m not the only one awake at 3-4am! I think it is because I am missing my mother this time of year, but I can’t even get up and get anything done or I will wake the rest of the family! So I pray and think of memories of my mom.

    Blessings 🙏🏼

  5. Stunning dress. My husband loves the shoes, and he loves the cold shoulder look. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Also, I know your neice is adopted, but she definitely has your hair. Ha..

  6. You look lovely. Please show a party style for those who don’t have gorgeous legs like yours or maybe something that goes with high boots.thank you

  7. Love the sweater you’re wearing to Colt Allen’s school. It looks so cozy and warm, can you please share details, and is it still available?! Thank you, I look forward to your posts every day!

  8. This outfit looks beautiful on you , Cindi!
I would be interested in seeing you style a LBD that would be appropriate for funerals etc .
Love your beauty for the heart quotes !

  9. thank you for the special article about your visit with Colts sc hool thanksgiving event. I am thinking there may be a special auntie sunia relationship forming.

I am curious about how others feel about the open shoulder look for lbd fo r those of us who keep one for more than one year. how will the look be for next years events ? remove the sleeves and have a sleeveless dress ?? sorry always nitpicking. you look quite stunning in the entire outfit and the hemline is perfect. the shoes make me drool. that is the saddest part of the aftermath of my having a couple of rods in one of my legs from osteoporosis induced spontaneous fx. I am so glad I had a few years of being able to afford some glorious shoes. again, those red shoes are the exclamation point of your outfit. Happy thanksgiving to you and your family….

  10. Once again I love this on you. But I just don’t like the cold shoulder look at all – for me. I hope you will style some longer holiday dresses like this but not in the cold shoulder style. 🙂

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  11. Yow. This LBD is fabulous. LOVE the length..so sexy. Hallelujah. Someone in the design department got it right. Hello! I’m not a fan of cold shoulders but this one works.

  12. WOW, That is classy, sexy, and just drop-dead gorgeous!!! My new incentive to get my rear back to WeightWatchers!! Love the red shoes, and your grandbaby is an absolute doll!!!! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!!!

  13. LOVE everything about this outfit but especially the length of the dress! It’s just so perfect and really looks great with the red heels.

  14. Wow! You look so beautiful and classy, as always. This look is a real head-turner. You really knocked it out of the park with this one. LOVE it!

  15. Love the outfit. You look amazing. Wondering if you wear a full body spanks or not under it. Would love to know what type of under garment you’ve found for those of us who want to look a little slimmer?

  16. Wowser! Absolutely gorgeous Cyndi, I love this look. It’s simple elegance and the shoes just set the whole thing off.
It’s not often we get occasions to wear dresses, but this one is certainly something I would love in my wardrobe and
Is perfect for the Christmas festivities.
Your grandson and niece are real cuties, and how lovely to be able to attend his event.
    Blessings Nicky xx

  17. Stunning dress! and I love the shoes with it!
I especially love the pictures with your Grandson… so precious! Thanks for sharing your family with us!

  18. You look beautiful Cyndi – Classic with a twist—my favorite style. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

  19. Cyndi,
What an elegant outfit in a very elegant and Godly woman. Your love for Jesus definitely shines through. When you wake up so very early, maybe getting up and reading His word will help you relax and go back to sleep.

Happy Thanksgiving and God bless you and your family!

  20. Cyndi, I tried out the ‘Lobe Wonder’ earring support patches and they worked great! I usually wear a pair of diamond studs along with whatever I pick to go with my outfit. The studs are heavy and they looked so pretty with the support! Thanks for recommending! Love the blogs from you and JoLynn 💕

  21. Absolutely gorgeous! Your husband needs totake you somewhere special to show you off. Everyone needs that special dress to make them feel beautiful and this is yours!

  22. That is by far one of the most elegant holiday dresses I’ve ever seen – and you are wearing it very well! Simply STUNNING!!!! The pop of the red shoe adds a bit of “sexy” too. If Wayne doesn’t have any plans he should start making some :-).
    Your grandson is a cutie!

  23. Oh Cyndi, this is just one of the most gorgeous outfits I’ve seen, it looks absolutely beautiful on you! This has a definite First Lady look! Yes, I’m waking up around 5:30ish every morning, so much to do but so blessed and thankful for this season!! Have a blessed day!!

  24. Loving this look! Thank you for taking the time to make these post for us challenged ladies in the style department! lol God bless you and yours and may you have a wonderful family and love filled Thanksgiving!

  25. Love, Love it !! and the red pumps,oh those red pumps set it off, perfect beautiful outfit for the holidays !! Girlfriend, your husband needs to take you to Gaylord to the ballroom Christmas dinner show.

  26. You are just so elegant and classy every single day!!! Love the grandson and niece pics…your kindness shines through your eyes…your family is so blessed to have a woman like you in their lives!!!

  27. WOW, about sums this gorgeous out fit up!! and to think, I just bought a pair of red flats (to wear with my black slacks outfit) this past Thursday while shopping in Lexington….. and now you style solid black with red pumps…. Gorgeous !(did I already say that?) LOL Now, I’ll have to hunt me a pair of red pumps.
Beautiful for the Heart is sooo good, and very true. I’ve taught our children to always thank the Lord before asking ! Yes, it is truly a very busy season for me also. My tree is up but not trimmed. plenty of ideas flying through my head.. and Thanksgiving dinner almost upon us… lots of Christmas plays and recitals to attend… and this lovely blog to check in on to glance at what you’re styling!! Love you, have a great Thanksgiving!

  28. Even though that dress is relatively simple—it makes quite the statement. I never did understand why most of the holiday dresses are sleeveless—then I’m always covering them up with a sweater or jacket??
We getting ready to do our winter version of the LBD—since every woman has one.
I think the length of this dress is superb on you Cyndi!! And those shoes are incredible!!
Now you must have Wayne take you out—:)

  29. Your inner beauty really shines through no matter what you wear- but this is absolutely gorgeous! I’ve been waking everyday at 4 a.m. !!!
Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for keeping us in style!

  30. Love those red pumps! They are red without screaming RED!
I like the dress too it looks great on you although I’m not quite sure about the length. It seems the closer I get to 50 the harder time I am having with dress lengths…..most seem too short and others too long😩

  31. Hello Cyndi,🙋🏻
I really like the black dress with the red pumps! With a nice fur coat and you’re ready for a night out😄
I have a similar dress in royal blue.
Have a blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving!

    In His kingdom,
    Raquel

  32. I have a lot going on too. I started laying a pen and paper by my bed. I reach over in the dark and write down what is on my mind then turn over and try to go back to sleep. I also have taken ZzzQuil this week I love the dress and shoes beautiful outfit! 😘.

  33. I’m up early too at this time of year. I love the holidays, but working full time and being the mom of a 10 and 14 year old keeps me awake sometimes. You look amazing in this outfit today.
    Blessings,
    Kathy
