The Season’s Hottest Trend-Leather Pants

Welcome to my 25 Days of Winter Fashion! Today, Deborah from Fabulous After 40 is joining Jo-Lynne and I. Deborah has a wonderful blog for women over 40. It was the first blog I found when I was researching blogs for women over 40.

I was blessed to meet her a couple of years ago at the Rewardstyle Conference and I’m so glad she is joining us today.

One of the season’s hottest trends is leather pants or coated pants (I’m wearing a pair of black coated pants). Coated pants are super stylish and have just the right amount of edgy to still be wearable for the average person.

I added some blingy Baublebar earrings. I love to add bling to my outfits this time of year. These earrings are a part of Baublebar’s essentials collection.

leather-pants-0You can easily dress these pants up! Take the same pair of coated pants, add a pair of sparkly high heels and a silky blouse, and you’re ready to go.

leather-pants-1A little more holiday glam with this bracelet.

The key to me wearing these coated pants is to make sure my top is long enough. These are almost like a legging and so I want to cover my front and back area.

My turtleneck sweater is warm and cozy and is from H&M.

I love the length of this sweater!

leather-pants-2My black booties are by Vince Camuto. They are a comfortable boot even though they have a heel. They have a higher shaft so my pants tuck in easily. They’re also on sale (30% off!).

Turtleneck sweater (I’m wearing a small)//Earrings//Bracelet//Handbag//Black booties (these run true to size)//Black faux leather leggings, similar here, here, here, and here (I’m wearing a pair of Liverpool leggings from my Stitch Fix box. You can request these.)

I’m so honored that you have taken time out of your day to stop by my blog. If you don’t want to miss a post, you can sign up to receive my daily emails and you’ll never miss a thing. I’m also on FacebookPinterest and my favorite one, Instagram.

Beauty For the Heart~~I shared this before but it’s good enough to share again. My Mom had written a note about Psalm 19:14, May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight.

Here is what Mom wrote: Would you change the way you live if you knew that every word and thought would be examined by God first? David asks that God approve his words and thoughts as though they were offerings brought to the altar. As you begin each day determine that God’s love will guide what you say and how you think.

I’m so thankful for a godly Mom who still teaches me through her writings.

Have a blessed day!

  1. Love the outfit never heard of the pants but they look nice. I’m with you I like a long sweater also. Thank you!!

  2. Love coated pants… Have wanted a pair for two years, after my sister in law wore her pair to our Christmas family gathering. They have been popular for a few years now! I think they are very sexy, yet very feminine also…. I agree, cover the front and back to an extent. I will love wearing mine with a deep red sweater. God Bless….

    1. Kim these are from Stitch fix and the tag that was on them said they are made exclusively for Stitch Fix. I have seen coated black pants at other stores.
      Cyndi

  3. Target has a great pair also, inexpensive…18$, higheasted ones! FYI-for other viewers! 😉
I’ll be pairing mine with a faux fur vest and blousy top, to our Xmas party!

        1. Just got them….love them. other then they do make a little noise when I walk. I would think real leather pants would make noise too?

          1. Oh that’s great!! Thanks for following up!! Lol, I still haven’t gotten mine!! 😜 Can’t wait to now!! What size did u get….I’m between a large and XL….soo cheap right!! The best when u can get a bargain and still be stylish!! 👍🏼

  4. I am all done with everything, my husband and I go the second weekend in Nov, everything & every places has a great sale. We go and shop 3 days, stay in a hotel, when we come back on Sunday, we are done with everything. Been doing this for 14 yrs or so, it is the only way to shop for Christmas, we are so tired every night, but it is worth it. I used to run to the mall, run here and there, until we started our weekend away shopping. We enjoy it !!!

  5. Cyndi,

What a great outfit! Very classy. Which Liverpool leggings did you get? I see they have several styles.

    Have a blessed day!

  6. I get my gift buying out of the way by the mid December. That way I can venture out with family or friends and just enjoy the festive feeling without any stress.
That is the perfect sweater to wear with leggings/skinnies. Love the dipped hem. I also like that you paired black booties with your coated pants. It gives a nice long, leggy look.

  7. I love it so much when you share your mother’s notes. It’s wonderful that she continues to share (from Heaven!) her love of Christ. I have a bible that belonged to my grandmother. Her notes are also inspiring.

Thanks for the look 3-ways today. Each one is so cute!

  8. I like it when you and Jo-Lynne team up to show us your individual take on a specific piece – and it’s even better when Deborah joins in and we get three great ideas. I have used outfits from all three blogs as inspiration, several times. Today, though, I have a question, or maybe a request? (It’s not meant to be criticism, but I am hesitant as I type this.) All three of you suggested in the text section of your posts that leather pants could also be worn in a dressier manner, maybe to a holiday party, by wearing them with a silky blouse and heels. I agree this is an interesting possibility. Also, in at least your post (and I think Jo-Lynne’s) the “cover the tush” tactic was discussed . I also agree with that, and not just with leggings. So, as we get closer to the holiday party season, could we maybe see one of you in a dressier, tush covering outfit with the leather leggings or pants, perhaps with a silky shirt and heels? I would be very interested to see what style, hemline (length & shape), colors, etc.. you would choose. I bought a pair of black leggings with leather trim last winter, to sort of dip my toe in the water, and I like them enough to seriously consider all leather(or faux) pants or leggings, but the trim I bought them for is exactly what makes them too casual to wear with anything other than a long sweater or shirt & poncho type of outfit , and I am not sure I need , or want, another pair of casual only bottoms just for the leather, and other than that, I’m not really sure what to do with them.
I love your gray sweater. It is long, has a nice hemline detail, and a great heathery mix of tones in it. It also looks like it’s not the kind of turtleneck that makes you feel like you are choking…I am definitely going to order it.
    Thanks!

  9. Thanks for sharing your Mother’s words with us. What a treasure. It was no accident that you posted it and I read it today. Work was especially chaotic this morning with deadlines and conflicts and I am thankful for the reminder of the scripture and your Mom’s words.

  10. Cyndi, Today’s Beauty For the Heart is awesome. What your mom wrote is definitely something to think about, isn’t it! You look FABULOUS in this outfit! Thanks for sharing different price points for the pants.

How do I have all of my Christmas shopping completed, you ask! I actually shop throughout the year. When I make a purchase for someone, I note it in a journal, then the item goes in a huge plastic container I keep in our attic. I also buy birthday gifts the same way. I already have two b’day presents bought for 2017. I can still get out in the hustle and bustle that occurs around Christmas, but I do so without the stress!

    God bless!
