Happy Friday and welcome back to my 25 Days of Winter Fashion! Today I’m styling a cozy turtleneck sweater that’s perfect for a cold winter weekend.

This one is not tight but it still keeps your neck warm.

I’m carrying the taupe color but there’s also a black and tan one.

We are having dinner at some friend’s home tonight and then we are going out to dinner with another couple tomorrow night. ‘Tis the season!

  1. Ah, beautiful Shaker Village! Loved going there when we lived in Harrodsburg. Perfect setting for your photos! Love the turtleneck on you.

  2. this is something I could wear every day …. I always forget that I don’t need to go out and buy new things… sometimes just seeing someone put something together… and look cute in it ( you do 🙂 … is all I need… I am fashioned challenged and in a “yoga pant” rut 🙂 … running to my closet now to find a turtle neck and cute necklace ..

  3. I love turtlenecks! I find them flattering and oh so cozy. Enjoy your Chanel Blogger event at Dillard’s. I don’t like getting my makeup done either. i like to keep it simple and natural.

  4. I am so excited that you gave us ideas about your hair. My hair is thin and frizzy because I have straightened it for so long. It’s very straight, with not a lot of body. I used your idea about the rollers, I went to Walmart and bought some, and have used them everyday since. I haven’t used my straightener and my hair is not frizzy, it’s full, and looking healthy, even with just a week of roller use.
Thank you so much for that hair tip. I love it!

  5. I love your look today. I have been looking for a long initial necklace, and thanks to you, I have found the perfect one! I too have a lot of questions on how to wear booties when its cold. Yesterday I wore a black bootie that hugs my ankles with skinny black jeans, and I thought it looked fine until I sat down, and you could see my skin..yuk..I thought black socks would have been the right choice..Ok ….now its time for you to direct us on what to do…ha

  6. Loving this look! But turtle necks I just cannot do! The hot flashes would be horrific! Lol. But you look adorable! Loving the bag as well! Have a Great Day!

  7. Love this look…am “stylin'” it today myself! Love turtlenecks. Love sweaters. Love boots. Love long necklaces! You look great! Have a super weekend!

  8. Love your turtleneck and casual outfit. And those ankle boots! Loving that trend BUT…
Okay, here’s the embarrassing question of the day:

I’m always cold, too…so I have to ask about the ankle boots. No socks beyond low socks, correct? I mean when it hits January we still do the low sock thing?

When you finished inspiring me with your 25 days…I may need a hosiery post, lol.

Like, when/if you wear your cute flats in winter, are you sockless?

And while I’m asking… how ’bout heels and dresses… (obviously not referring to socks here) but other than tights…what’s the hosiery standard for those of us, ahem, past 40 or 50?

  9. LOL…I used to wear a turtle neck almost every winter day when we lived in Denver. Now that we’re back in Texas, I find this style is not comfortable. However, a looser cowl works for me. Love your outfit. As always you look adorable.

  10. This sweater is a perfect neutral, and I really like the fact that it is not wool, which truly drives me crazy (scratching). The split hem adds a nice modern touch. Simple, yet very classy!

  11. Totally agree about the stifling or itching feeling of a turtleneck. Plus, with my round face a tight turtleneck does me no favors! I’m really loving your jeans. I love the dark color and they seem so flattering. As an apple-shaped gal, jeans are elusive but I’m going to check out your link now! Thanks!
