Start A Fire In Me Lord

Well, we have made it through the first week of 2017! If you’re like me, you’ve been thinking about the year ahead. One thing I have been asking myself is “What does God want me to do in 2017?”.

I love what Exodus 9:16 says, But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.

We are here at this time in history to proclaim Jesus and to know His power! It’s that simple.

The song I’m sharing below is called Start a Fire. The chorus says this..

Start a fire in my soul
Fan the flame and make it grow
So there’s no doubt or denying
Let it burn so brightly
That everyone around can see
That it’s You, that it’s You that we need
Start a fire in me

This year I want to be bolder in my faith. We live in a hurting world that needs to know Christ. Start a fire in me Lord!

Living a life of faith is not always easy. Let me encourage you to find a church and get involved. It’s so much easier when you have people walking with you on the journey.

Have a blessed Sunday!

  1. Good morning! I saw on another post that you will be in Richmond this weekend. I would love to hear you speak. Can you please send me the details?

  2. Yes, having a local body of believers to do life with has made a world of difference for me and my family. Worshipping, studying, praying and serving together. Encouraging one another. What a blessing the Church is! Have a great week!

  3. Thankful for your messages! You are such a blessing to so many! I look forward each day to your daily emails of encouragement! God has great things in store for 2017! Praying for you!

  4. 2017 has started out kinda rough for me as well. My prayers go out to you whatever it may be that has been a challenge in your life. He is faithful, even though it seems like He is quiet at times. Thank you for your faithfulness in sharing!

  5. I am with you. Passion and focus for 2017!
Please know that you are a source of encouragement and a great example of a godly women. I hope you know how appreciated you are.

  6. I’m praying for you and your family for whatever trials have been bestowed upon you in 2017. Please know that you and your encouraging daily words are very valuable to me and I pray the best for you. I appreciate your words regarding involvement in a church family. Our minister of 30 years has newly retired and we are in the midst of an interim pastor until we receive a permanent pastor. It’s been difficult because the one who left had married my husband and I, had baptized and presided over the marriages of our children and was a friend, in addition to our pastor. I need to remember that my church family remains the same strong, supportive, loving and caring brothers and sisters in Christ that have always been there and have faith that God will send us the right leader. Thank you for reminding me.

  7. I hope that things get better for you. Many of us are in similar situations, and offering it up to God seems the only thing we can do right now. I found your blog at an even darker time, and your daily messages are an inspiration.

  8. Cyndi, I believe I’ve “seen” what our Lord has down the road for you, you are truly blessed
and he has many more blessings to come!! You and your family have a blessed and restful day!!

  9. Lovely message. I always look forward to the Sunday post. Prayers to you and your family.
Also, do you know what town this video was shot?

  10. something you said in one of your recent posts made my ears perk up and I have prayed my suspicions were incorrect or that He would influence them for good.

  11. I’m so sorry 2017 has started off rocky for you, I will keep you in my prayers. As you know I lost my mother and father in 2016 and I’m feeling very lonely and sad today. As many have said I’m so thankful for your blog and all the followers, it keeps me strong in my faith and lets me know others are struggling, but we have God’s word to stand on. Take care Cyndi, and everyone else too.

  12. I am so sorry to hear about a bit of a rocky start to the new year …. I am so thankful for you… I don’t have many friends,,, and when I open my email from Grace & Beauty ….it’s like I have a friend on the other end… a believing sister who encourages me…let’s keep praying for eachother…. maybe as I read your posts,,, it will serve as a reminder to pray for you, Cyndi ,,, we really do needs sister to lift us up… this is so much more than just a fashion blog!!! God Bless you Cyndi for your faithfulness

  13. Thank you always for the example of seeking Him in the great times, as well as the rocky. I pray for your comfort in times of challenge — I hope you can find comfort in knowing you help guide so many and you will be in our prayers!

  14. Please know how much you inspire and carried me through such a rocky second half of 2016. I watched our 15 yr old daughter shatter her left leg in a soccer game, she was airlifted to hospital, somehow avoided amputation by God’s grace. She has had several surgeries since that Sunday morning on October 16th. I cried, prayed and had moments of faltering faith wondering why, but your daily posts always brought me back and had me trust in the Lord.
On New Year’s Day I watched our daughter walk three steps for the first time when we thought she may ever walk again. I pray you know one day how much you have helped so many of us stay true to Christ! Thank you for all you do and give of yourself every day.
As our Pastor Nancy quotes every week:
“Life is short, and we do not have much time to gladden the hearts of those who travel with us, so be quick to love and make haste to be kind.” Henri Frederic Amie

    Blessings and hugs!

  15. Cyndi, as you know, 2016 was very rocky for me, and I appreciated prayers. I am sorry that 2017 has had a rocky beginning for you, and I will be praying for Gods resolution.

  16. Cyndi, thank you for another encouraging post! I am currently at a crossroads…a waiting period. It isn’t easy but reading your blog reminds me to keep my eyes on Jesus. Thank you for being real with us. I appreciate you, your blog, and your love for our Lord!! Wendy

  17. That verse was just what I needed today!
“what if trials of this life are your mercies in disguise” – Laura Story

  18. I am sorry your year has started out so rocky. Whatever is going on, I will keep you and all your family in my prayers. My year ended kind of rocky, and am still trying to navigate my way thru the changes that have occurred for us, and trust the Lord in ALL things. As I have my whole life, I trust Him with all things, and know that whatever is happening will work to good, even though I might not see it now (or maybe ever see) but I live on in faith and trust in my a Father, and know He has a plan for us all, and is in control.

  19. Hey Cyndi. Im praying what ever is making your new year rocky, God changes it to rock for HIS glory. Just want you to know that you touch alot of lives thru your blog for Christ. God bless you!!!
    😊 Dee

  21. Wonderful message today Cyndi. I’m often reminded of your talk on gripping His hem and the visual of the small piece of cloth. You’re in my prayers today. 🙏❤🙏
